“This is a special place. Liege waffles are very different than anything I've ever had. They are made from a yeast dough, with caramelized brown sugar inside, smallish, and served warm in a napkin so that you can take it with you while window shopping. Please note: these are not meant to be served with ice cream on top. The ice cream and waffles are both very good by themselves. The owner only serves them together because people ask for that, but I think they ask for it because they think that's how it's meant to be served. (At least, that's what we thought!)“

Had a nice chat with the owner and he informed us that many of the ingredients and milk are sourced from local farmers and helps support our area which is great. “Texas sheet cake is one of the best chocolate ice creams I've had. Lemon Bar and Banana Cream Pudding is also super yummy!! Offers to-go pints. Unfortunately, the servers added a Buttercrisp Waffle Chip, which isn't vegan, but it's easily removed (and if I had known they'd add it I would have asked for it to be omitted). Ice cream was still delicious though and definitely one of the best vegan ice creams I've had!“

When my husband and I stopped by this location today, I was a bit worried that my nostalgia had magnified my excitement and this might not live up to my expectations, but boy did Bruster’s deliver! Servings are a good size and at a reasonable price, especially as other ice cream locations charge much higher prices for smaller servings and sometimes lesser quality. The waffle bowls are delicious- I had the seasonal Peanut Butter Cookie with Nutter Butter flavor and my husband had Graham Central Station, and each ice cream was packed with the mix-ins. The girl who worked with us was very kind as we asked about the different flavor options and sampled a few flavors. It takes a lot to live up to a memory of a good experience, and it shows that Bruster’s is consistent and still a high quality place for ice cream. We will be back!“

But still, all three of us got ice cream, two soft serve and one hard dip, and each was good. Just a wonderfully quaint neighborhood spot with solid offerings and reasonable prices. “This Bruster's is far better than any other ice cream shop in the area. It was "Every Given Sunday" but after Covid, they closed permanently. This place has excellent mango sorbet and Chocolate ice cream shakes and pint size. Friendly. Helpful and the ice cream tops every place I've been too. Cool Cones is awful and can't compare!“

I always get the gelati. Normally it's 50% italian ice and 50% frozen custard but I treat the ice like a topping and ask for 80% custard and only 20% ice. It's awesome they always get the ratio right. Mango is the best ice flavor. Can't go wrong with it.
