“We love this place. A nice place a to grab a dessert after a delicious meal at one of the many great restaurants in the area. Even thought there's Amy's right down the block Besty's stands on it's own.

On a nice day, you can grab an ice cream and walk across the street and enjoy it in the open space around the fountain (see the pictures).

Friendly staff, delicious ice cream and lot of options for a tasty snack/dessert.

Parking: There are three options for parking here. Street parking (paid parking), North Parking Garage (665 Washington Rd, Mt Lebanon, PA 15228) and Public Parking Garage (714 Washington Rd, Pittsburgh, PA 15228)“

“This is a special place. Liege waffles are very different than anything I've ever had. They are made from a yeast dough, with caramelized brown sugar inside, smallish, and served warm in a napkin so that you can take it with you while window shopping. Please note: these are not meant to be served with ice cream on top. The ice cream and waffles are both very good by themselves. The owner only serves them together because people ask for that, but I think they ask for it because they think that's how it's meant to be served. (At least, that's what we thought!)“

You can sample as many flavors as you’d like, and they serve samples on metal spoons that they wash, which is a pretty unique and sustainable sample model for an ice cream shop! I was between multiple flavors after sampling (which speaks to how good the options are that I was so indecisive when picking two flavors), and the staff helped me narrow down my choices by making recommendations of flavor pairings. I had the brown butter almond brittle and salted peanut butter with chocolate flecks, while my husband had gooey butter cake and double dough. I found that due to the richness of the ice creams, a small serving was sufficient, but you pay a premium because of the quality.“
