“Writing a review to say that this place has probably the best cake I've ever had: we got a taro cake yesterday and I've never seen our family almost eat an entire cake in one day-- two amazing portions/layers of taro filling and icing on top and in between layers. The icing is so good, it's not your usual store-bought icing: the perfect amount of vanilla and sugar. Will absolutely be back to try their other cakes as well as their breads/pastries. Service is friendly too, I made sure to tip. Thank you!“

“Yes to everything. The main storefront is mostly just their warehouse, so not a lot of space to stay/eat, but the products are amazing. Everything from the pretzel shortbread cookies to the einkorn canele! Their sweet and treats are very wholesome and filling. Can’t go wrong with anything you order“

“We worked with Joe to put together a tea reception after our wedding ceremony, and we couldn't have been happier! The pastries themselves were so delicious and very pretty (my personal favourites were the mini-cupcakes). And, Joe was a pleasure to work with, very communicative and upfront. We had to switch things up last minute from having the food out on display to having it packaged and handed out, and Joe and his team did a fantastic job pivoting, even coming up with a cute little QR code sticker with the menu for each box. “The officially unofficial best boba spot in Chinatown. Reason why? They use fresh fruit for their boba. Nice cuts of mango or tea taro. Plus their bakery items are delicious.

Protip: this is one of only 3-4 of the Chinese bakeries in the area that do steamed meat buns. And in my opinion, the best tasting and bang for buck.

“I love this spot so much! Everything is so delicious, high quality, and fresh. I swear by the egg and cheese biscuit sandwich as the best biscuit breakfast sandwich in the city. Today I branched out and got the mushroom quiche and a cup of the special soup (squash coconut curry) and I’m so delighted! Will have to try more lunch items in the future. Not a bad thing to say about this place, but do note that the seating is limited and it’s probably best for takeout.“

“The Phillywide included JustEgg, vegan cheese, and Beyond bacon or sausage. I chose bacon, but received sausage. I wanted a Philly muffin, but they were out, so I chose a sundried tomato bagel. The sandwich was good, but so hot that I burnt my tongue. I was disappointed to learn they don't actually make any of the baked goods.“

Now i just drive by always wanted to stop but never did but I’ve always been curious so it’s 61 years old today. “Crust was an accidental find. I was strolling down the main street in Manayunk and the familiar vegan word caught my eye. Inside, I was surprised by the variety of baked goods, past the usual cupcakes and cookies. Multiple refrigerators house cheesecakes, cake cups, tiramisu, breakfast bakes, monkey bread, and more. We bought a seeded card (Mother's Day is around the distant corner) and a chocolate strawberry cheesecake. The strawberry cheesecake was dense and creamy with a crispy Oreo crust. “While strolling through Philly’s Chinatown, my girlfriend and I stumbled upon a cozy bakery at just the right time—we were in desperate need of a coffee break. The iced coffees we got were exactly what we needed: strong, sweet, and fairly priced. Definitely a spot I can see myself revisiting soon!“

“I’m obsessed! Found this bakery on too good to go & took a ride over (from jersey) I came home with 4 different flavors of the banana pudding & my 16 year old and I tried each one. I can’t even pick a favorite because they are all so good. The Magic flavor name makes complete sense when you take a bite because different flavors seem to magically appear in your mouth (peanut butter being the last to hit…) hard to explain but if you taste it, it will make sense! I got 2 large puddings in my order than bought 2 different small ones in different flavors & i regret not getting the 2 extra cups in large! Driving in Philly stresses me out but I’ve never wanted to drive back over there so bad! For more pudding! I will be recommending this bake shop to everyone! “I'm honestly disappointed in myself for not having come here sooner. The brunch menu is simple: some breakfast options like quiche, scrambled eggs, avocado toast, breakfast sandwich. Then some solid sandwich options, in addition.

We went with the apple & cheddar baguette with turkey. Delicious. The bread was super crunchy and the mustard was such a nice complement to the apples and meat. Also got the tozzino. Not usually a huge focaccia fan, but this was quite nice and the soppresatta was great. Always going to love burrata and this was done well. Finally, grabbed a tomato bread with cheese which was like a mini pizza and excellent-the crust was delectable.

Grabbed some of the pastries to go, all of which looked amazing. We came at a good point as we were able to snag a table but I can see it being difficult when it gets busy. Line moves quickly and the service is fast.

Would definitely come back. Wish I had tried the soup on the cold day we went so will likely be going with that next time.“

“My sweetheart and I went here on our second date. The original plan was to meet at Dead King Bread in Manyunk, and then hike in the Wissahickon. Dead King was closed, however, and my sweetheart quickly suggested Roma Cafe as an alternative. I'm ashamed to say that I never knew about this bakery. When I think of Italian bakeries, I typically think of South Philly. This is the real deal. An interior that harkens back to earlier times, and probably owners that harken back to an earlier time!

It was here that I discovered that my sweetheart is extravagant with treats, especially sweets. As a bit of a minimalst, I chose a rather bland biscuit. He chose an array of half a dozen treats, including canolies.

When we eventually made our way to the Wissahickon, we discovered that we had each packed more treats for the hike - cheese, grapes. He brought the most wonderful brie from Trader Joes that was as soft and gooey as if you had baked it in the oven. I noted with approval that he was equipped with a good picnic bag, as was I.

As we walked through the Wissahickon, I was captivated by his friendliness to everyone we passed on the trails, including the dogs.

When I moved to Philly, these bagels were a top 5 reason. Especially recommend the za’atar bagel but they’re all fantastic and fresh. Thank you, Vanilya!!“

“The chocolate pretzel is overrated if you ask me. It’s not bad, it just looks better than it tastes. The hazelnut croissant however, is really good. The coffee is not bad, and the service is pretty good. It’s a cute little bakery with some small French bistro tables by the window and a couple of small booths on the other side.
