“Usually don't leave reviews but I must say this place is great. I really enjoyed the thin crust pizza more than I expected and the wings were a nice alternative to deep fried. Would recommend to everyone. Try the new stromboli as well!“
“We came here for my family members birthday and there was quite a bit of us (13), the owner Connie was an absolute gem and hooked us up with a private room. She came in numerous times to check in and make sure everything was okay and staff was so nice and quick. I have to say it was worth every penny, everyone was so nice and the food was AMAZING. We had a wonderful time, I would definitely recommend coming here.Dietary restrictions: They had gluten free options!“
“Went here with friends and had a great time. Loved the Korean gochujang wings. They were so crispy and the texture was great; not to mention the sauce is addictive. I got the smash burger and added long hots—it was delicious! Their fries are also super crispy. The cocktails were also very good. I can’t wait to come back.Vegetarian options: The menu is all vegan. So happy to have a place with so many options. We also met some non-vegans there who were also trying them for the first time and they loved it.“
“Took me bit to review this Glorious spot. I first read about in in the Italian-American Gazette (I’m Irish). A Paisan friend at a S Philly Espresso joint which I thought had the best Cappuccino in the city that Grand Caffe L’Aquilla was the best. After Holy Thursday at St Patrick’s I went there and I have to concur. And the best Barista , MattFriday my friend and I who was with me Thursday went on Good Friday and had Dinner. We both had Grilled Octopus. Que Cosa Bella! Tasted delicious like straight from the Sea. Ridiculously inexpensive. The waiters Boro and Luigi couldn’t be more accommodating + Funny and friendly. HIGHLY Recommend“
“This restaurant is located on East Passyunk in South Philly. I love the ambiance and service was great. Meat and veggie platter was delicious. The platter also came with pizza dough which was surprisingly really good. I am also currently obsessed with their gnocchi, it has the perfect texture and the sauce was amazing. Will definitely come back!“
“Cozy restaurant with a lot of energy. Hold off on eating the complementary bread because you'll need it for the outstanding mussel appetizer. Another must order is the orecchiette. One of the best pastas I've had in Philadelphia. The lamb shank was just ok. Unfortunately I just recently had it at another Philly restaurant and it was so much better. Barramundi which was a special was a huge disappointment. I've never seen so many things added to a fish dish to overwhelm what I consider to be an amazing fish. This is my second time at this restaurant where the entrees feel short. Stick to the appetizers and pastas. Service was outstanding.“
“Terrific dinner! We had the burrata appetizer and the beet salad to start, cacio e pepe ravioli, rigatoni parmagiana, seafood gnocchi, and chicken Milanese. All were delicious and well-executed. Ricotta cake, orange sorbet and a cannoli for dessert, also delicious. Service was attentive and great.“
“Katelyn (Katiey) was amazing!!!!! She was personable, funny, helpful and we enjoyed ourselves to the fullest!!!! She was attentive and we didn’t have to ask for anything; she was always one step ahead. The food was delicious and we loved the BIG PAPI pizza. We will be back!“
“An exceptional dinning experience, but getting in is a bit tricky. The restaurant opens advanced online bookings in intervals of two week blocks, on the Sunday prior. There are two seatings each night, 6:30pm and 8:30pm. If you can’t get a reservation for the released block time, you can request to be added to the wait list. That’s exactly how I received my dinning spot. The experience is intimate, warm and friendly. It truly is like being invited to a friend’s house for dinner, except your friend won’t be serving you these yummy dishes. The food creations are amazing and the courses numerous. The chef announces each dish before it’s served, explaining the ingredients and inspiration. They also provide an extensive wine list and delicious craft cocktails. Highly recommend!“
“We were there Saturday night and loved the ambience and hospitality. We ordered appetizers, entrees and dessert and I loved their entree and dessert. I and my husband are vegetarian and they were able to suggest us few options with no meat. Linguine Fra Diavolo and Vegan Orecchiette Pasta were so yummy. We tried tiramisu and dessert of the day (something with Pistachio) both were amazing. They even have opera performances every 20-30 minutes.Vegetarian options: Server was well aware of what dishes can be made vegetarian and vegan options are clearly specified on the menu“
“10/10, we got there 15 minutes late due to heavy rain, no problem at all! My babe booked the 5 course meal in a private wine cellar (it’s only 1 down the basement) very romantic w/rose petals and candle lights, I’m vegan and the chef really threw it down in the kitchen just for me :-) very happy about that, you have to pay in advance and beverages aren’t included, will definitely go back.“
“Giuseppe's and Sons is an absolute culinary masterpiece nestled in the heart of Philadelphia, PA. From the moment you step inside, you're transported to the enchanting streets of Italy, where every corner exudes warmth and hospitality. The ambiance is simply mesmerizing, with rustic décor and soft lighting that sets the perfect mood for a memorable dining experience. But it's the food that truly steals the show. Each dish is a symphony of flavors, expertly crafted with the finest ingredients and a touch of Italian flair. From their velvety risottos to their perfectly al dente pastas, every bite is a culinary revelation. And let's not forget their heavenly desserts that will leave you swooning with delight. But what truly sets Giuseppe's and Sons apart is their impeccable service. The staff treats you like family, ensuring that every need is met with a smile. Whether you're celebrating a special occasion or simply craving authentic Italian cuisine, Giuseppe's and Sons is the epitome of culinary excellence. Trust me, dining here is an experience you'll cherish forever. Buon appetito!“
“Headed to South Philly on a Friday evening to try out Saloon and had a fantastic experience. The dinner in every area was above and beyond, from the atmosphere, to service, to options, and food. Everything we tried was delicious, and the service was excellent throughout. Prices are high, but we left with enough food for 2 more meals in leftovers so I felt less concerned about the cost. Highly, highly recommend.“
“The service was excellent. The food was also good, we enjoyed the tasting menu which had some surprising dishes such as the carrot & egg custard. The bread and nduja was also a nice addition. However, we spent over $800 between the two of us with tips included (with the tasting menu priced at $215) which I think is way too overpriced. The wines especially are overpriced, for 150pp I would expect more upscale wines than what was on offered. We ended up going with a Barolo instead which was more reasonable but still $170 for a bottle. For these prices, I would expect Michelin 1 or 2 star quality food, which it wasn't (as nice as our meal was). That said, the service was really good with our waiter being extremely attentive and considerate.“
“The space is small. Very small. A dozen or so stools along the bar and 4 or 5 other 2 tops along the wall. They also have a few outside seats.Drinks were good, unique and flavorful without “shock factor”Everything was cooked perfectly. Firm but great texture. My wife and I split each item and were both full at the end. Serving size of these classics were generous.ESCARGOT ARANCINI. Two golden round balls of love. Perfect crispness on the outside and smooth savory center. The saltiness of the sauce really brings it together. One of the best Arancini I’ve had.RIGATONI - forella sausage raguSpicy (but not in your face) and savory. Great texture and smoothness to the sauce.TONNARELLI -cacio e pepeReally good. The pepper is flavorful without being intense. The focaccia is a must to sop up all the extra sauce!“
“The food was excellent and the service was good. We went for an event and I just don't think this space was right for it. We also ended up at their 2nd location by accident and ended up crashing another private party. It was overall a nice time and we enjoyed the food, just wish there was more space to enjoy it in.“
“Hands down the best meal I’ve had so far in Philly! We shared the Chef Special and every dish we tried was amazing. Definitely recommend the foccacia (pictured), tuna crudo, ravioli with sweet potato, and cacio e pepe. Our waitress, Kaitlyn, was helpful in explaining the menu and provided great recommendations and service. Can’t wait to go back!Dietary restrictions: Gluten-free pasta is available.“
“Great Italian spot in center city. One of the best Caesar salads around because of the polenta croutons. The short rib pasta is one of the best options on the menu. The spaghetti and meatballs is massive so be prepared. Portion sizes for the entrees are generous.“
“Susage pizza with burrata was close to if not the best pizza I ever had. Salads were delicious. The cotoletta could needed a bit more lemon for my taste and the cacio pepe needed pumping up a bit too. But both were still very good. Our friend loved the pork tenderloin. Decor is neither inviting nor offensive. Will definitiely go back for the FOOD and great service!“
“My wife and I dined at Osteria for a special occasion and the experience did not disappoint. From the moment we entered the door to the end of our meal we felt welcome and cared for. Our meals were exquisite. This is easily my favorite restaurant in the city now. Bravo to the Osteria team, Chef, and the host Kyle. We’ll definitely be back!“
“My in-laws were in the town, and we booked a table for 4. Even though they were a little late to the reservation, the restaurant made no problem. (They were not happy with it for sure, but they did not make us feel uncomfortable about it. So do not be late still)Fantastic food and a delicious menu. Everything is authentic Italian style cooked. We love it!Decoration needs to be updated but gives old italian vibe, no complaint. Our favorite thing was how our server, Micheal, improved our night. He was quick, careful, professional, and very friendly. He checked on us without needing him—excellent, outstanding professionalism. We love every second of it. We will be back! Special thanks to Micheal.“
“We had a delicious meal here! Highlights were focaccia with whipped ricotta, the squash pasta (forget the fancy namebut it’s the interesting shaped one below), and the chocolate mousse cake. Service was great too! We were originally slotted to have an outdoor table but they were able to squeeze us indoors. Would definitely come back.“
“We've been here several times since it opened, and have experienced good service and food each time. Several of the dishes have been on the menu each time, but some have been tweaked with different ingredients, making them a little different (even though the original was already worth trying again). The "Brown Butter" dessert, the name of which sounded rather unappetizing on our first visit, turned out to be one of the highlights. Definitely try it. Prices are also reasonable, for a more upscale establishment.Kid-friendliness: It's a quiet, intimate environment. Go for a date night and leave the kids with a sitter.“
“The pictures do not do it justice. Literally some of the best sandwiches I have ever eaten. And all the sides are impeccable. The fries with balsamic glaze and roasted asparagus were amazing. Dropped 40 bucks a person just from ordering so “
“True old world Italian cooking artistry. Opened in 1899 Dante and Luigi's is one of the oldest restaurants in Philadelphia PA. It is certainly the oldest Italian eatery in Philly. Cozy with well dressed wait staff and old world decor. The food tells the story here. I have eating there since college. I took my dates there when I was 18. I go for the food. Delicious is the keyword. Savory tomato sauces, tender meats and exquisite desserts if you have the room after eating your meal. On my recent visit I had pasta fagoli and a side of roasted peppers and provolone to start and their homemade lasagna for the main course. Everything was scrumptious. Even though I was bordering on I can't eat another bite I had the tiramisu for dessert. I couldn't resist. Dante and Luigi is easily my favorite Italian restaurant and a cut about the rest.“
“The chicken was so tender and delicious that I really wanted 3 more helpings but went for the amazing butterscotch pudding dessert! The Brussel sprouts were crispy and deliciously tossed in balsamic vinegar reduction. The pasta was served perfectly al dente which ever sauce you chose. The pomodoro sauce was just superb! It was just a little tight but otherwise the atmosphere was great as was the staff!!Parking: Best to park in the lot just off of 3rd and Bainbridge as trying to find a spot on the street is near impossible. The lot was convenient and close by, less than a block away. $15 for as long as you want on Saturday or Sunday or weeknight after 5pm. Worth it for the impeccable cuisine!!“
“Picture the quintessential neighborhood corner sandwich shop of your dreams - this is it. This is the spot. Found it today and knew at first menu glance it’d be dope. The daily specials (kielbasa & egg sandwich, and Italian melt) were great and already thinking about the next ones I want to try (ex. The Bobby). Slaw, pickle, and Vietnamese iced coffee were great too!The place was happily busy on a sunny Saturday afternoon - line inside but I ordered ahead online since I was walking my dog, and their service was great — I literally stepped inside and within 2 seconds someone came out to greet me, I said I placed order, they said my name and handed me my bag and coffee.I don’t know what we the people of Francisville did to deserve Sandwich Corner Market, but my heart is full (and stomach)(Can you guys maybe make like, a little sandwich sample flight? Like 3 little sliders somehow? I want to try so many at once but can’t be slamming like 3 sandwiches and foresee myself stressing in the future over which 1 sandwich to pick per order)“
“LOVED IT HERE! Truly authentic Italian cooking, with authentic ingredients to purchase. The staff was so friendly and accomodating on their menu. We had to make a slight change in order for a vegetarian, and they had no issues. We tried their breakfast sandwiches & lunch sandwiches, and each bite was jam packed with substance & flavor (I mean, just look at the layers in my photo.) Fresh ingredients, and an overall quaint/bright spot. This would be an awesome place to post up and get some work done, do some people watching, and enjoy delicious food. Not to mention, their baked goods looked out of this world. We wanted to get so much, but I landed on their passion fruit donut, partly because it was the last one left (so I figured something must be good!) And let me tell you, their dough is different. The donut was dense & fluffy at the same time, and their passion fruit flavor was y-u-m-m-y. I can't wait to go back to try more sandwiches and get some grocery shopping done!“
“Great Italian Hoagie spot in the heart of the neighborhood. The Chicken Cutlet is the real deal. They have just enough crunch to it on a worthy Philly hoagie roll. The people here- including owner- are warm and responsive dishin’ out these beauties. Pricing quite reasonable.Thank you guys for breathing fire into an area that needed a for-real hoagie spot. Now easily on the rotation.“
“the food was pretty good, the place is pretty nice and you need a reservation but i wish there were more option for appetizers especially because they were out of octopus when i went and that’s what i wanted. they were out of a lot of other things including chicken. i also wish they toasted their bread but the olive oil was so good.Dietary restrictions: the waitress specifically asked for all of our dietary restrictions before taking our order“
“Great food & drinks! My boyfriend loves That Nicholas Cage. Like coming here for a late night, fancy stop. It’s very small & cozy. Bartenders are cool. Definitely on the pricey side (food that is). The cigarettes are a cool touch. Although I don’t smoke, “
“Super tasty Italian food in a neighborhood spot that’s much more interesting than a South Philly red gravy spot. The baked mozzarella with balsamic vinegar is superb as was the veal and the spaghetti with shell fish in a white garlic sauce.Service was super, friendly and made great recommendations. The restaurant is a byob.“
“I have a food allergy and they were very accommodating and also very friendly and the food was awesome!Vegetarian options: All vegan!Dietary restrictions: No dairy, no eggs, no meat, no honey.. will be helpful if you have questions about any other allergy/restrictionsKid-friendliness: A very low key cool place that kids would be welcomed in“
“Friends dinner out on a rainy Saturday. Our Mr first time to Noir since the Pandemic. It's even better than we remembered. Same comfortable, relaxed, neighborhoods atmosphere. Same warm and welcoming service. And the food is inspired. Particularly good: broccoli rabe with sausage and beans starter, arancini, gnocchi in mushroom gravy, short rib, and (amazing) spaghetti with crab sauce. Desserts were fresh and especially tasty. Great evening!“
“Have been here in Roxborough 2 years but never really saw the place until I found it on Google maps. It's a little unassuming on the outside but is really nice on the inside. I think they need a big, bright sign out front facing the street directly.Excellent food. Came for breakfast. Not too salty and they make a great hollandaise sauce. Had the stuffed french toast and crab portobello benedict. Will be back to try lunch and dinner, as well!Prices were good. The food is well portioned. You won't leave hungry.Service is great too. Multiple people checked on us. They check on you consistently for water and coffee. It was busy but we didn't have to wait too long to sit. We also didn't wait too long for food (maybe 15 minutes after order) but they brought our drinks of course within 5. Food came out hot. Can't wait to go back! Definitely recommendDietary restrictions: There is fish on the menu and also a vegetarian burger.“
“Can’t possibly say enough good things about Tredici! Have never had a bad meal here (and I have tried a lot of items ?) lunch, dinner or catering are all a hit. Top favs are crab cakes, mashed sweet potatoes, chicken caprese. Always have my freezer stocked with marinara sauce for an easy dinner and chicken soup as needed. Absolutely love Tredici!!“
“Tomato Pie really is not my thing. That being said, Corropolese does the best job at wanting me to like them. And for under $20 for a full pie, they aren't a bad deal either. While I've had their pies on numerous occasions, my first visit to this location was over the holidays. In the days leading up to Christmas, they don't even answer the phone! They leave a message outlining what you want to do if you want a pie for your gathering. We arrived early, as recommended by their message, and had no issue snagging one. However, given how they setup the parking lot, I suspect that might not have been the case for late arrivers.Outside holidays (and maybe the Super Bowl), I imagine they are a low-key place to visit. They have everything else you'd expect from a deli and very friendly staff to help you out. I'll continue to occasionally enjoy a piece of tomato pie and say you'd do well to give Corropolese a go.“
“A very fun and unique experience. This members only club has a speakeasy style for access. Everything we had there was top notch. Highlights for me: the lamb chop, the gnocchi, crab pasta and the espresso martini which had 24 hr churned brown butter somehow infused into it. If you know someone with a membership, you should really try to go.“
“The best restaurant in all of Philly. From the exceptional service to the to-die-for food, this place is a hidden gem that you need to experience The vibe is authentic, and the drinks are delicious. Just make sure you save room because you won't want to miss out on their desserts!“
“Had an awesome experience here, with one great dish after the next. Wish I had been fasting all day just so I can eat more of their delicious food. Meat balls were so delicate and rolled in a perfectly seasoned sauce with a dollop of delight thrown in. Paired with some Italian bread sprinkled with parm. Next whipped ricotta cheese toast had a little party on my tongue. Only to be chased down with the white claw pizza, which was expertly charred to perfection.. The words I have written don't even compare to the service we received at the bar along with a joyfull smile from the bartender hard at work and loving her job. Found another favorite“
“Literally if you live anywhere near fish town Come here !!! My fiancé and I got the meatballs and ricotta for an app AMAZING tasted like moms meatballs .. we ordered and spilt the tagliatelle with filet and truffles OH MY GOD ! My taste buds are SCREAMING I am 100% Italian and know flavors but this right here MANNNNN best thing I’ve eaten in a long long time ! Bartenders are so attentive and the atmosphere is awesome !!! Check this place out yalllll amazing“
“It didn’t taste the same as how they used to taste to me. It’s been a few years since I’d been there. It was missing something. I remember the hoagies being so so good. I don’t know. But it just wasn’t mouth watering like I remember. Service was great. They were nice and friendly. But I’m not giving up that easily. I’ll be back and try them again.“
“One of my favorite places in Philadelphia!Member’s only, been a member since they reopened.Superb cocktails! Amazing dishes, great food. Menu changes often enough and they do specials throughout the year for events. Top tier experiences there always.Wonderful staff and an intimate space.Don’t have any favorites to share as things change enough that what I post about might not be on menu next time.“
“Parking Parking Parking..... Plan ahead for parking.... It can take some time. Area parking is free after 6pm (3/2024). Food, service, atmosphere and seating was well organized & executed. Cocktail selection is excellent. Every dish was well prepared and plated to perfection -the kitchen team knows what they're doing. Touché to the management to create such an excellent team. Will be back when I am in the area.“
“THIS is the place to be.What a wonderfully warm and friendly atmosphere, from the hostess to the servers to the other guests. Cute decor with a lot of tables that are in close proximity to one another.THIS is the place to eat.OHHH-EMMM-GEEE the food is incredibly delicious. The portions are generous. The menu selections are great and it’s difficult to choose - and then they have daily specials, which makes it even harder because you want to try it ALL!CASH only- no cards accepted.BYOB and the staff will gladly provide the appropriate glassware.Scannicchio’s is a family place…..the employees are all family and when you’re there you feel like family. MY family, we LOVE Scannicchio’s! It’s our family tradition. La mia famiglia. Mangia bene.Parking: Parking is where we you find a spot! Usually a spot can be found on Broad Street.“
“Came with a group of 5 on Sunday at the end of brunch and had such a great experience. The food was top notch, the brussels, artichokes, ravioli, risotto and tortellini were some of the best we’ve ever had anywhere. The service was also fantastic! We will be back :)“
“GO TO ELMA! Seriously I cannot say enough great things about this place. My wife and I went for her birthday last August and had such an amazing time that we decided to go again for my birthday this week. Both services were truly outstanding. The seatings are so intimate and personal that it literally feels like Chef James and his team are cooking for you in their own home. They go above and beyond in their service and the quality and creativity of the food. You can taste just how much passion there is in this tiny little spot. But the real standout for us is that they will make modifications based on dietary restrictions. My wife is pescatarian, and so we are often at the mercy of restaurants with this format. But Chef James not only caters to her needs, he specifically crafts incredible dishes exclusively for her. If we could afford it, we’d eat here every month. Seriously, GO TO ELMA!“
“We had a reservation and ended up waiting for more than 30 min to get our seats. The food was good; typical Italian. We ended up waiting again for the food once we were seated with the whole endeavor taking several hours. The underground vibe is very cool and it seems to be run by a family ☺️ just maybe needs more staff on Saturday nights.“
“I ordered a plain cheese pizza for take out on a Sunday afternoon. I had to wait 25 minutes but it was worth it. Like most places in the city, parking options are very limited. When I walked in to their shop I saw several happy customers eating away, enjoying their food. The place seats about 20 people. Nice low key , no frills, South Philly Italian pizza parlor vibe with very good food. It beats standing in line at Angelo’s.“
“This place has always been good. I like the people that work there and they never screw up their orders. Their Italian food is fantastic. From what I understand it was recently bought by someone else. The pasta sauce tasted different which I wasnt happy about but that's a small complaint.“
