I got the smash burger and added long hots—it was delicious! Their fries are also super crispy. The cocktails were also very good. I can’t wait to come back.Vegetarian options: The menu is all vegan. “Cozy restaurant with a lot of energy. Hold off on eating the complementary bread because you'll need it for the outstanding mussel appetizer. Another must order is the orecchiette. One of the best pastas I've had in Philadelphia. The lamb shank was just ok. Unfortunately I just recently had it at another Philly restaurant and it was so much better. Barramundi which was a special was a huge disappointment. I've never seen so many things added to a fish dish to overwhelm what I consider to be an amazing fish. This is my second time at this restaurant where the entrees feel short. Stick to the appetizers and pastas. Service was outstanding.“

“An exceptional dinning experience, but getting in is a bit tricky. The restaurant opens advanced online bookings in intervals of two week blocks, on the Sunday prior. There are two seatings each night, 6:30pm and 8:30pm. If you can’t get a reservation for the released block time, you can request to be added to the wait list. That’s exactly how I received my dinning spot. The experience is intimate, warm and friendly. It truly is like being invited to a friend’s house for dinner, except your friend won’t be serving you these yummy dishes. The food creations are amazing and the courses numerous. The chef announces each dish before it’s served, explaining the ingredients and inspiration. They also provide an extensive wine list and delicious craft cocktails. Highly recommend!“

“The service was excellent. The food was also good, we enjoyed the tasting menu which had some surprising dishes such as the carrot & egg custard. The bread and nduja was also a nice addition. However, we spent over $800 between the two of us with tips included (with the tasting menu priced at $215) which I think is way too overpriced. The wines especially are overpriced, for 150pp I would expect more upscale wines than what was on offered. We ended up going with a Barolo instead which was more reasonable but still $170 for a bottle. For these prices, I would expect Michelin 1 or 2 star quality food, which it wasn't (as nice as our meal was). That said, the service was really good with our waiter being extremely attentive and considerate.“

“True old world Italian cooking artistry. Opened in 1899 Dante and Luigi's is one of the oldest restaurants in Philadelphia PA. It is certainly the oldest Italian eatery in Philly. Cozy with well dressed wait staff and old world decor. The food tells the story here. I have eating there since college. I took my dates there when I was 18. I go for the food. Delicious is the keyword. Savory tomato sauces, tender meats and exquisite desserts if you have the room after eating your meal. On my recent visit I had pasta fagoli and a side of roasted peppers and provolone to start and their homemade lasagna for the main course. Everything was scrumptious. Even though I was bordering on I can't eat another bite I had the tiramisu for dessert. I couldn't resist. Dante and Luigi is easily my favorite Italian restaurant and a cut about the rest.“

“Picture the quintessential neighborhood corner sandwich shop of your dreams - this is it. This is the spot. Found it today and knew at first menu glance it’d be dope. We tried their breakfast sandwiches & lunch sandwiches, and each bite was jam packed with substance & flavor (I mean, just look at the layers in my photo.) Fresh ingredients, and an overall quaint/bright spot. This would be an awesome place to post up and get some work done, do some people watching, and enjoy delicious food. Not to mention, their baked goods looked out of this world. We wanted to get so much, but I landed on their passion fruit donut, partly because it was the last one left (so I figured something must be good!) And let me tell you, their dough is different. The donut was dense & fluffy at the same time, and their passion fruit flavor was y-u-m-m-y. I can't wait to go back to try more sandwiches and get some grocery shopping done!“

“Tomato Pie really is not my thing. That being said, Corropolese does the best job at wanting me to like them. And for under $20 for a full pie, they aren't a bad deal either. While I've had their pies on numerous occasions, my first visit to this location was over the holidays. In the days leading up to Christmas, they don't even answer the phone! They leave a message outlining what you want to do if you want a pie for your gathering. We arrived early, as recommended by their message, and had no issue snagging one. However, given how they setup the parking lot, I suspect that might not have been the case for late arrivers.Outside holidays (and maybe the Super Bowl), I imagine they are a low-key place to visit. They have everything else you'd expect from a deli and very friendly staff to help you out. I'll continue to occasionally enjoy a piece of tomato pie and say you'd do well to give Corropolese a go.“

“A very fun and unique experience. This members only club has a speakeasy style for access. Everything we had there was top notch. Highlights for me: the lamb chop, the gnocchi, crab pasta and the espresso martini which had 24 hr churned brown butter somehow infused into it. If you know someone with a membership, you should really try to go.“

“Had an awesome experience here, with one great dish after the next. Wish I had been fasting all day just so I can eat more of their delicious food. Meat balls were so delicate and rolled in a perfectly seasoned sauce with a dollop of delight thrown in. Paired with some Italian bread sprinkled with parm. Next whipped ricotta cheese toast had a little party on my tongue. Only to be chased down with the white claw pizza, which was expertly charred to perfection.. The words I have written don't even compare to the service we received at the bar along with a joyfull smile from the bartender hard at work and loving her job. Found another favorite“

“It didn’t taste the same as how they used to taste to me. It’s been a few years since I’d been there. It was missing something. I remember the hoagies being so so good. I don’t know. But it just wasn’t mouth watering like I remember. Service was great. They were nice and friendly. But I’m not giving up that easily. I’ll be back and try them again.“

“GO TO ELMA! Seriously I cannot say enough great things about this place. My wife and I went for her birthday last August and had such an amazing time that we decided to go again for my birthday this week. Both services were truly outstanding. The seatings are so intimate and personal that it literally feels like Chef James and his team are cooking for you in their own home. They go above and beyond in their service and the quality and creativity of the food. You can taste just how much passion there is in this tiny little spot. But the real standout for us is that they will make modifications based on dietary restrictions. My wife is pescatarian, and so we are often at the mercy of restaurants with this format. But Chef James not only caters to her needs, he specifically crafts incredible dishes exclusively for her. If we could afford it, we’d eat here every month. Seriously, GO TO ELMA!“

“I ordered a plain cheese pizza for take out on a Sunday afternoon. I had to wait 25 minutes but it was worth it. Like most places in the city, parking options are very limited. When I walked in to their shop I saw several happy customers eating away, enjoying their food. The place seats about 20 people. Nice low key , no frills, South Philly Italian pizza parlor vibe with very good food. It beats standing in line at Angelo’s.“
