“I had a birthday celebration at this restaurant. We sat near the cozy fireplace on a chilly night. The cheeseboard (varied cheeses, focaccia bread, honey, blackberries, nuts, jam, greens) and Pt. Judith calamari were beautifully presented. Excellent bottle of Pinot Grigio from Tuscany, Italy added to food, Staff was very accomodating. I enjoyed mussels, scallops, little necks over pasta in scampi sauce. Others had the salmon as well as the bolognese. It's a very roomy, quiet setting near the water. Staff came out to sing happy birthday with a luscious ice cream dessert with a candle on top. I was pleasantly surprised. We will return to this place for sure!“

I’m more of a vodka drinker but the beer selection was incredible and our waiter helped me pick the perfect wheat beer! 100% I’d go back (when in town). A definite 2 thumbs up!“

“all I can say is WOW! Im not easily impressed by any restaurant. Main Sail Kitchen blew me away! The mussels were the best I've ever had. I could eat them every day of my life (order extra bread to soak up the delicious sauce) thr shrimp is poached well and is the size of a lobster tail. I ordered a caprese sandwich but I have no idea how ill eat it! Deanna was my server and her recommendations were so on point. what a great addition to Main st eg!“

“We found ourselves continuously returning to this restaurant during our trip in DR. Nothing seemed to compare! Our waitress, Ebony, was a sweetheart and consistently greeted us with a warm smile. The empanadas were incredible! The Pina Colada is really good here too. Highly recommend.“

“Last night, we walked towards The Aviary's entrance surrounded by beautiful flowers and lots of hydrangeas. Magical. The restaurant itself did not disappoint as it too was absolutely lovely. The wait staff was superb. Nice and efficient and they got every order perfectly. We were delighted. However, the food left a bad taste for sure. We were served room temperature brussel sprouts that were not cooked! Calamari was overcooked and rubbery. Pasta dish was floating in oil!! Total disappointment. Sadly, this beautiful restaurant has not earned our repeat business.“

“Strive is beautiful inside. I love how each of the rooms give a different vibe. Check out the speakeasy downstairs. Deon and Chef Teddy make us feel like family every time we dine here. The carpaccio was the best we’ve had, and the gluten-free s’mores dessert was absolutely delicious—a perfect ending to the meal. “Location/decor/ambiance: the owners have tried to turn the spacious brick and beam interior of a former factory building into a ghetto-ish inner cityscape skateboard park using graffiti-style airbrush graphics, little skateboards that serve as bar chair seat backs, concrete floors painted with Providence manhole covers, etc. Visually, the effect is mixed. I “get” what the owners are trying for, but it isn’t for me an “attractive” dining decor. It looks much more like a dance club for young twenty-somethings. I quickly adjusted to the inner-city grunge decor, but what we couldn’t adjust to was the VERY loud rap/hip-hop music blaring out of some very robust speakers non-stop. Talking was difficult. Yes, I’m an older person, but I don’t begrudge anyone their musical sensibilities… provide its not full of “***** and “nigga” and roaring out at at least 90 decibels. Whatever they’re trying to be, they need to remember that they are l (at 10 am) a restaurant, not a dance club. Food & service: unexpectedly, given the above criticism, the food was outstanding, I mean really good. Caught us off guard. Just beautifully imagined and realized. Would I return? Probably not. Even the great food cant quite overcome the soundscape. Interesting place, though“

“Fine dining done right! I can tell how much attention was put into everything we ate. We went w 2 charcuterie meats as an app and I went w the monkfish as a main course. While not an immense amount of food, it was perfect as I’d eaten a couple hours earlier. Regardless, it was delicious- the best part may have been the veggies!

Half chicken and sea bass were also delicious. I haven’t even mentioned service and vibes, which were great.“

“TRAFFORDS TESTIMONIAL Perhaps once in a lifetime you find someplace really special for you and your spouse. Seven years ago we went to Trafford’s for the first time. What we remember about it was how it made us feel. Both of us work hard in our professions and to go out to dinner and find wonderful food, excellent and attentive wait staff, and relaxed environment simply made our day. We then came every month at least once mostly twice to enjoy the excellence and serenity at Trafford. Sadly we lost this when the fire occurred for several years. Then absolute joy when Trafford’s reopened and we found the same wonderful food, wonderful staff in a simply beautiful rebuilt building. The joy we felt and the absolute calm and serenity is all back for us. Recently we celebrated my 76th birthday at Trafford with my entire family. It was amazingly special for me and we had our special event upstairs with the entire place devoted to us . Chrissy our server did an awe inspiring service for us making it perhaps one of the most special birthdays I have ever had I have attached a picture of this special moment. I work in the computer software business doing quality assurance 10 hours every day. Being able to calm down and relax completely at Trafford’s is simply a joy for us. “My husband and I went for the first time on Saturday and sat at the bar. We ordered apps and cocktails and of course oysters. Best oysters in RI by far believe it or not. Drinks were ok but food fabulous! Would have given 5 stars if not for the bartender. She focused solely on my husband the entire time even gave him a free drink. It was very obvious and blatant disrespect to me. My husband even commented on feeling uncomfortable. As a former bartender the general rule is to pay more attention to the wife than the husband out of respect but also because most often the wife is writing the tip. We will for sure be going back but will sit at a table and maybe only order sparkling water.“

“Just moved to the area and tried Stevie D’s for the first time. The food tasted amazing! We had a Portuguese burger with sweet potato fries and the chili cheese fries (with homemade chili). Nice beer selection - we had the Stevie D’s IPA and a peanut butter porter. We sat at a table but most folks were sitting around the bar and seemed to know each other. There was a live band in the back and a small outdoor space for people to stand and chat out front. Our waitress was super friendly and the whole vibe was chill. We’ll definitely be back!!“
