“I thoroughly enjoyed my steak burrito. The steak itself didn't stand out that much but did contribute. The tacqueria salsa and Mexican rice was great. I got the chipotle tortilla - I'm not sure if I actually noticed any difference versus a regular tortilla, but I'd get it again since I enjoyed the burrito as a whole. Chips and salsa were good too - salsa bar is nice.
The line was out the door and around the corner of the building - despite liking the food I doubt I'd come back for dinner again for this reason. Hopefully lunch is better.“

“Attended the Taste of the Yucatan private event here on Nov 12, 2024. This was a great intro for locals to get to know a fairly recent entry onto the 12 South scene-- and let me tell you they made a very compelling case for why they should be the Go-To neighborhood spot for area diners. Out of town foodies will love it too, but the owners really wanted to pitch local with the event. The menu for the evening featured flavors from the Yucatan peninsula, which also pull from the Caribbean apparently. The flavors on many of the plates were complex, yet some of the dishes had a home cooked vibe, like a handed-down family recipe-- made new by Chef Santibañez. Cocktails, wine, and other bar offerings were all exceptional. Overall, the food was stunning, and the entire evening was a treat. Another notable highlight was the service: having well-trained and attentive servers add to the atmosphere seems rare to find these days, but Fonda fielded a great crew for the event. Lastly, as a local, one of the more frustrating challenges in convincing my wife and I to go out in Nashville for dinner is dealing with parking, especially in areas like 12 South. Some friends who also attended were able to walk over from their home near Belmont, while we drove over from Green Hills. So a huge asset (for me) is that Fonda has their own parking right behind the restaurant! And it's validated! I highly recommend giving this restaurant a visit.“

“Went here for late night Mexican and boy was it tasty! Fresh ingredients, served hot from the kitchen super fast service. Chicken fajitas were the bomb. Salsa with chips so perfect. Large menu. Festive outdoor area, playing Mexican music at a moderate level but still had great convo. If you're looking for a quiet fancy place this isnt it, more dive hole in the wall. Yummy, authentic, highly recommend!“

“Great chicken and the sides did not disappoint. Had to stop after driving by so many times and seeing the smokers going hard at all times if the day. I'm thinking there's tacos and plates to be made but I just rolled with what everyone else was ordering and I knew I could get a chicken even with my lil bit of Spanish (fortunately the cashier knew I was in over my head there). I'll definitely be back soon.“

“We come from New Orleans, we were looking for great tacos. Our favorite was Taqueria El Dolar #2! The best service, very tasty, and the best prices. We went twice, in one day. We will definitely return to Taqueria el Dolar when we return to Nashville. My favorites were the sopes!!“

“Great Mexican subs! Huge! They are really tasty, and they are becoming kind of expensive but they are delicious I love to eat here when I want a sub.
They have burgers and tacos too, but honestly I only tried the Tortas (subs).
If you are super hungry and starving always go for the torta cubana. You may want to share it.... It is huge.“

“I had the Quesa Birria Tacos today at the Hobson Pike location and they were the best I've eaten in and around Nashville. The consomme is gelatinous and delicious!! The tacos were filled with flavorful, tender beef slow cooked with onions, herbs and topped with cheese. The corn tortillas were fried to the perfect crispness and not greasy, which is not always the case at some restaurants. The margaritas were strong and refreshing. Service was a little slow, but I think they were just getting it right in the kitchen. Our server was very attentive.“
“I went there with coworkers and I must say some of the best Mexican food I've had. I got chicken tacos which were sp flavorful. Everything is made fresh to order. It did not disappoint. My coworkers both got burritos and had nothing but great things to say. It's great for grabbing a quick bite. Check them out if you're in the area.“

I spent 3 months in Nashville for an internship and visited this place multiple times every week.The language barrier is real though, so be prepared to use google translate on your phone.But all in all, it is unreal how authentic and good this food is. It's worth just the trip to eat there.“

“So delicious. We’re from out of state and we’re looking for a dinner away from the center of Nashville, that wasn’t a chain. We literally saw it on Google maps right before we passed it and decided to stop. SO glad we did. I’ve been missing the good pupusas I used to get in NW Arkansas, and was so happy when I saw them on the menu. We also had a sope al pastor, chorizo tacos and a new-to-us dish called pollo con tajadas. I recommend ALL of them.“

“Love the old school feel of a Cantina with a bar outside eating. Walk up order bring it to your table. You have a bar where you can order drinks. Eat tacos in the sunshine or eat them inside. They also play great eclectic tunes. I had great service when I was there.“
