I placed an order online for pickup, and when I arrived, it wasn’t quite ready yet. At first, I wondered why—then I walked in and immediately understood. There were only two incredible people running the entire restaurant, and I have to give them the recognition they deserve.

Grace and Ashley, a wonderful mother-daughter duo, were working tirelessly to take care of everyone. They were juggling so much at once—filling orders, serving customers, and keeping everything moving—and yet they did it all with kindness, patience, and genuine care.

It’s rare these days to meet people with such good hearts. Despite being understaffed, they went above and beyond to make sure everyone was taken care of. Watching them work together was inspiring, and their dedication truly made my day.

“I visited this restaurant twice with family during my recent visit to Dallas. Ambiance was great and staff very welcoming and attentive. Appeared as if we were being treated as personal guests. Standard of food and hygiene was beyond any doubt remarkable. What really impressed me was that washrooms were sparkling clean with all amenities. Overall an excellent experience and my appreciation to management and owners for doing a very fine job. Wish you all the success!“

“Stopped by Hard Eight this weekend. By far the best BBQ I’ve had to date. This is coming from someone who has lived in the Southern East coast. Variety of different meats, pretty expensive but absolutely worth every penny. We purchased the brisket, ribeye, jalapeño and cheese sausage and sirloin. All was extremely juicy and not over cooked. Staff were extremely helpful. Will definitely come back!“

“Great hole in the wall Mexican bbq place. I had some Al pastor tacos and brisket sandwich. The tacos had onions and cilantro and I got the green medium hot salsa (which was a good medium spice level). The brisket sandwich was good sized and came with pickles and onions and warmed bbq sauce.“

“Visited Dickey’s Barbecue Pit recently and was pleasantly surprised! The smoky chicken hits you the moment you walk in, and it sets the tone just right.\n\nI tried the Brisket Plate with mac & cheese and barbecue beans as sides. The brisket was tender, juicy, and had a great smoke ring—definitely the highlight. The mac & cheese was creamy and comforting, and the beans had a rich, hearty flavor. Their barbecue sauce adds just the right kick, especially the spicy one.“

“I got the lunch special of 1 meat and 1 side as well as the lemon cake dessert. The brisket was very good in my opinion, perfect balance of fat and lean meat; loved the sauce that was on the side, it was very peppery but balanced with a slight sweetness. Comes with a side of toast and pickles and pickles onions that were also very delicious and good balance. The Mac and cheese was a semi disappointment due to it being spiral noodles but the cheese sauce and breadcrumbs really bring it back to being tasty. Lastly, the dessert, smoked lemon cake. It was hard to judge it, they forgot the berries so it was good but not quite up to par, the cake portion did not taste smoky, was very dense but still moist. Comes with this lemon drizzle/curd sauce that was very good. Worth a visit for the atmosphere and food, but if you're looking for solid BBQ I would give this place a pass and maybe go to hard 8, Hutchinsons or even maybe Loro if you're looking for something more modern.“

No substitutions for combos which is a bummer but understandable. Paejon is solid, brisket and pork belly were decent. Love the abundance of banchan here and can ask for more and sesame oil.“

I always get the loaded cheese fries to start, and the charro beans as a side. The wait staff is very attentive. It is also dog friendly. “This was my very first time dining at Manna Shabu & BBQ (Lewisville location) while visiting for a concert weekend, and I have to say—it was such a wonderful experience! They were even having a special collaboration with a local small business vendor for the Ateez concert and offering a complimentary Lemon Drop mocktail for each diner, which was such a fun and thoughtful touch. From the moment I walked in, I felt welcomed. I believe it was the owner or manager who greeted me, and when he learned it was my first visit, he kindly explained the menu, the dining options, and where to find the different food and sauce stations. I was then shown to my table where a very sweet server brought me water and took my order. Throughout my meal, two other staff members as well as the owner/manager checked on me often. The service was beyond excellent—everyone was attentive, helpful, and genuinely kind. Now onto the food—oh my gosh, the portions were incredible! I ordered three different meats and was so pleasantly surprised at the generous serving sizes. At most KBBQ places, one order barely feels like enough for a single person, but here, each order was hearty and satisfying. I couldn’t stop raving about it to my boyfriend and mom while on the phone during my meal! The meat was fresh, high-quality, and delicious—even without dipping sauces. The corn cheese also deserves a special shout-out—it was honestly one of the best I’ve ever had. Beyond the main dishes, there were so many great options: hot plates like mandu, sausage, japchae, fried rice, and chicken; a nice selection of banchan; an ice cream station for dessert; and a wide variety of sauces to complement everything. The restaurant itself was very clean, the atmosphere was warm and welcoming, and even the restrooms were spotless. I also loved that the TVs played some of my favorite K-pop groups and the music playlist was absolutely top tier—it really added to the fun vibe. I went with the Brisket BBQ Cornbread and a side of Brisket Beans, and as someone who firmly believes beans belong in chili, this combo landed like a Critical Hit.
