“Made a quick stop for some sweet tea and had to try the Mac n cheese and a slice of the banana cream pie. Mac n cheese was amazing and then I tried the pie… 10/10. Phenomenal! Can’t wait to come back and try everything else!“

“The brisket is so good, you don't need to add BBQ sauce. It is not often that you can say that. We have eaten there enough times that I am now officially 'a piggy boy'.“

“So hard to believe what is technically gas station bbq can actually be so good; loved the turkey, brisket, and ribs; they check every cut with you to ensure you’re happy with everything you’re buying, and service is all around top notch. Breakfast tacos are quick and easy for the price, all around much better than expected“

“Came from Oklahoma to a wedding that you catered. This is the best catered food I have ever had. I feel like I’m cheating on my local bbq place.“

“No one does beef ribs as well. Not nearly. I've been a customer since they opened in 1975. And will be until one of us quits being.“

“Really good food. Love the brisket and potato salad. Cobbler so yummy.“
“(Also listed on Google/Maps as “Micky’s @ intersection of Circle Dr & Thomas Springs-a 16 foot food trailer ) Just split a the Brisket & Sausage sandwich with my husband& my two boys split the cheeseburger. Both came with chips. Soda is limited to Diet Coke or Dr Pepper in the can, but kept real cold. The sandwich was so moist & flavorful. The burgers are “better than P.Terrys,”said my youngest son. Micky makes everything with love & he’s been doing this for 7 seven years and it shows. The sausage snaps & explodes with each bite. Brisket was moist it’s like butter. We all felt full & happy, but to stop back by next time we are in the area (think Austin zoo). Thanks, Micky!! Great foodie find.“

“Rudy’s Barbecue is one of the most unique and fun parts of Austin, Texas—where else can you get high-quality barbecue at a gas station? It’s a brilliant concept that’s both practical and delicious.
The experience at Rudy’s is always enjoyable. The service is quick, and the pit crew is incredibly friendly. I love the extra touches, like the jalapeños, onions, pickles, and free bread they offer for building your own sandwiches or pairing with their flavorful sausage. The dessert options and slices of cheese to complement the meats are a nice bonus too.
Their brisket is excellent, and the prime rib is a standout. There’s plenty of seating, and since they don’t take reservations, you can just walk right in—no hassle.
Rudy’s isn’t just about lunch or dinner. Their breakfast tacos are a fantastic option, and it’s also a great spot for a quick coffee in the morning. The attached convenience store is genuinely convenient, adding to the charm of the place.
Everything, including the bathrooms, is clean and well-maintained, making it a great all-around spot. Rudy’s is a must-visit if you want a casual, delicious, and quintessentially Austin barbecue experience.“

“Holy Cow! Brisket at Switch Barbeque in Dripping Springs is some of the best you will have in Texas. The chopped beef sandwich is a generous portion. tithe potato salad is so creamy and tasty you need to make sure you get it. Burnt Ends! These are not covered up with some sugary stuff to make them taste good. They are stand alone. Our waiter Barry was outstanding and the beer is served in frozen mugs. Can you get better than that? It would be difficult.“

It's one of those hidden Austin Staples.
Parking: It's a walk to the window to order. Nice outdoor seating nothing fancy. When the lake was full it was the place to stop, also local businesses.
I get the pulled pork sandwich, it is phenomenal!
Enjoy if you ever go.

“This place had hands down the best brisket I’ve ever had in my life, and I’ve been eating brisket in Texas for over 60 years! The turkey, sausage, jalapeño mashed potatoes, macaroni, and cheese. Everything was truly wonderful. This was my first time to ever eat there, and I’ll definitely go back! The stuff was great all the way around my family was definitely impressed :-)
Kid-friendliness: Extremely kid friendly! They had games and activities for the kids to do. I didn’t see everything but I did see some playing volleyball some playing cornhole, a few playing soccer and hacky sack, etc. There was a big field where there were vendors with booths set up selling things.
Parking: We had about 50 in our party and there was plenty of party. It was spread out to where we didn’t have to walk too far.“
“A quick stop turned into an unexpected incredible evening. The most amazing wine and steak, the owner Darin was beyond hospitable. We will be back very soon. 💯 % highly recommend a visit, you won’t regret it!!“

“This has been mine and my daughters favorite spot for years, but recently we’ve gone 2 times in a row and they were out of ramen. That’s what my daughter gets and both times we’ve had to leave and go somewhere else. It’s disappointing but hopefully the ramen will be back and we can start going again. Food has always been wonderful so I’m definitely missing it now.“

“Schmidt BBQ was one of the stops on the TX BBQ Trail…a long established family business. I did a “To-Go” order and went with the three meat platter with brisket, ribs, and turkey along with the Jalapeño Mac & Cheese and Au Gratin Potatoes. Overall a good plate, the brisket was tender but a little dry. The ribs were good and the rub had nice flavor, and the turkey was very moist and tender and went well with their BBQ sauce. The sides for me were just OK and I would opt for something else next time. Service was great and the ladies took great care of me.“
