The patty was juicy and flavorful, and it literally melts in your mouth. their signature sauce is next-level good creamy, tangy, and addictive. But the real game-changer? “First time trying Jolaf rice and i feel like it’s superior to any rice i have had previously. The seasoning was so full and balanced with the Pulled pork i ordered being succulent and flavorful. moist and a healthy portion for the price. Definitely will eat again and recommend to all my friends.“

“Great find! Food is authentic, salsa and chips are fresh and good. We tried a variety of tacos. The al pastor was the best imo! Majority of the menu is gluten free and easily accommodating for dairy free. Staff was very friendly! Definitely worth a stop!!“

“Enjoyed the street tacos. It best to know some Spanish or use a translator. Parking can be challenging. Cash or Zelle only (no card). Place is in the hood. Wait either in your car or in plain sight. I would def go back (only in the daytime). No sit down area.“

“The food here is really good, I been going here for a couple of years now. The only thing I don’t like is when you pay with card they add a fee they never tell you about and from what I know they are the ones that should be paying that fee and not the customers, also today I order enchiladas and I requested to add two extra, mind you the order comes with three, well I got charged for two orders just for adding two more, if I would of known I would of just asked for two orders.“

“I ordered the taco plate with 2 beef and 2 al pastor taco's with refried beans and rice. It was very good! The beans and rice were very tasty. The al pastor and beef taco's were amazing. They make their corn tortilla's fresh! 5 stars! Very nice people. I am very happy to support small business's that put such great effort into creating great food for their customer's. I hope they open their own restaurant in the future. Kudos.“

“Few taquerías in Dallas have the cult status of El Si Hay. The tiny white-and-green stand on Beckley Avenue has long been a Bishop Arts rite of passage, drawing weekend crowds for its cash-only tacos and ice-cold Jarritos. From the outside, it looks exactly like you want a street-side taco shack to look: hand-painted menu on the wall, a metal counter for stand-and-eat sessions, and the scent of grilled meat drifting onto the sidewalk.
On a recent visit I sampled two of the staples — the fajita (beef skirt) and bistec (beef steak) tacos. At $2.75 apiece, they’re still a value in today’s taco economy. The tortillas were warm and doubled up in classic street-taco style, but they lacked the pillowy freshness or light char that separates a good taco from a great one. The meats, while serviceable, didn’t quite sing: the fajita offered a faint smokiness but no real punch, and the bistec had a one-note chew rather than the beefy depth I was hoping for. Standard cilantro and onion toppings kept things clean, but a vibrant salsa might have helped lift the flavors (extra hot sauce runs 75¢).
There’s no denying El Si Hay’s appeal. The stand is charming, the menu straightforward, and for many locals it’s a nostalgic taste of Oak Cliff. But with Dallas’ taco scene evolving, from trompo specialists to boutique nixtamal tortillas, expectations have risen. Compared with newer competitors, El Si Hay feels more like a dependable neighborhood stop than a destination worthy of a special trip.
Bottom line: If you’re nearby and craving a quick, inexpensive taco with old-school vibes, El Si Hay still delivers. But if you’re coming from “miles and miles” away expecting a revelatory experience, you may leave thinking, as I did, that the legend slightly outshines the reality.
Rating: 4 stars (out of 5) solid and honest, but not quite the transcendent taco stand its reputation suggests.“

“Fantastic authentic Mexican tacos, and not just that, but at real prices. Normally you'll be upcharged an arm and leg for something this good. We had an awesome time and would happily go back. We would have appreciated a little more options for shaded seating at mid day, but other than that this place ticked every box we could have wanted.“
