“Food and service were awesome! There are a few food trucks near a highway. Bread was toasted and there was garlicky flavor that went so well with the shrimp. Bread was not too buttery which was great. Shrimp were fried perfectly and presentation was nice. Hope we have time to come back before we have to go!“

“I have had oysters in Oregon, NYC, Chicago & Houston. This is my first oyster bar in Austin and it has topped my previous experiences in the places before! From MA, PEI to RI they were shucked to perfection. The service was just as awesome. Chef sent two TX oysters & even though gulf isn’t my favorite; these two were definitely up to par.
Lobster was great, they were served with skinny fries but not the annoying skinny you can barely eat…they were so good!

“My wife and I had a wonderful Mothers' Day dinner at downtown Austin's Truluck's. My New York Strip steak was an excellent cut of beef and perfectly cooked. Our waitress saw to our every request, including letting me sample two wines to make sure I got the one I preferred. The Baked Alaska desert was even better than the one I had in Anchorage. Everything was clean and the interior was very attractive.“

“In my opinion, it was a complete honor for me to be able to eat at Red Ash, they did me a favor versus me providing them business! 😂I’ll start my review with a note to future diners, my wife and I were visiting Austin and tried to get reservations online but they were continuously booked, so we showed up and waited outside 20 minutes before they opened in an attempt to get a seat at the bar for a quick meal before they got busy. The bar was fully reserved upon arrival, I guess a lot of people reserve the bar at this place, but they carved out an hour for us at the chef’s table in front of the meal prep area. In my opinion, it was the absolute best seat in the house! We started with the tuna crudo appetizer and garlic bread and it was phenomenal, along with the cocktails we ordered! For entrees, we got the gnocchi and tagiolini with blue crab and wood fired carrots, this was so fresh and perfectly cooked, one of the best meals ever! The executive chef receives and looks at every single entree before it goes out to the table, we watched perfection for the entire time we were there, with the chef critiquing and correcting entrees as needed, we were mesmerized! Our server Jake was attentive and knowledgeable and offered us great recommendations, including the finale of apple tart and vanilla ice cream for dessert. This experience was a complete pleasure and I am pumped that I got to eat at Red Ash! Thanks!“

“Captain Benny’s is a longtime restaurant in Central Austin serving seafood next to the Marriott. They have all the standard seafood fair, nothing fancy, but very tasty. There’s outdoor seating in addition to inside seating, and the bar is a big horseshoe shaped thing that’s kind of fun.“

“Place is great! It’s consistent with the service, food and atmosphere. Every single family and friend we’ve gathered with absolutely LOVES this restaurant. We have been coming here for years and the tourists that feel it’s a “tourist trap” need to understand what type of restaurant they are walking into- local, great food, service and family owned. Knockout martini is amazing, Bob Armstrong dip is unbeatable. The burritos and beef fajitas are the best by far. We will continue to support Austin’s favorite Tex mex restaurant and clearly the people that matter will too.“

“My best friend brought me to this neighborhood spot place as I love mezcals. The hostess greeted us with a smile and took us to the patio where the ambiance and interior is inviting taking you on an escape from Austin as if in another part of the world. The spirits selection is amazing. But this was just a simple night out to have an after dinner drink and a birthday dessert. What made a simple night into something extraordinary and awesome was the donning experience.

She greeted us with a warming smile and guided us through the cocktail menu. Recommending a a take on a penicillin which is my favorite go to, was served up not on the rocks and tasted amazing. She engaged great conversation with us that just felt real and genuine. She brought a piece of back home with the experience she brought to the table. Looking forward to the full dinner adventure for next time.

I grabbed one of each. The toppings were so fresh and crispy and delicious. But let's talk about the seafood. Fried to utter perfection the taste was delicious. Some of the best seafood tacos I've had in a very long time.

The wait wasn't long, very nice/polite staff.

“WHELP it finally happened!

I finally got to a place i really wanted to eat at, because i have been here before and i absolutely love the food, only to find out i do not have enough to tip. I was devastated.

However, our server was not. She actually was amazing throughout our entire experience. She made us feel like family. From the complimentary butter, to the oh so properly dressed drinks, she was 100% on point. And i did not tip. My goodness i felt like royalty with the level of service that this server/bartender was able to provide. Almost immediately upon entering we were greeted with a coloring page for our child. Now that is top tier. ALSO, i was otw to the bathroom, the same server looks down the hallway and says the code for the door! I didn’t even know about the keypad! This woman was on top of absolutely everything!

I absolutely love this place and cannot wait to come back to make up for my misdeed.“
