“This is my family’s favorite place to eat when we hit the island. Spectacular food, great outdoor seating. Their drink menu is impressive and unique. I’ve not had a bad meal there ever!“

“We went for a Bachelorette party dinner, the experience was great for the most part. Food was good, scallops were slightly overcooked, and the portions were large/sharable. Justin was fantastic even through the attitude issues of Jamie. Jamie was rude and disrespectful to not only us but Justin when he passed on our needs to Justin, Jamie then tried to wish congratulations on our way out....seriously.“

“Let me tell you about my evening at the Shrimp Shack in Galveston—it was the kind of experience that makes you want to write poetry about fried seafood. The shrimp? Perfectly golden, crispy, and so fresh I swear they waved at me from the fryer. Each bite was like a little crunchy hug from the Gulf. And as if that wasn’t enough, the sunset decided to show off. Sitting there, stuffing my face with fried shrimp while the sky turned shades of pink and orange, I felt like I’d hit the jackpot of simple pleasures. Shrimp, sunset, and sea breeze—what more could you want? Highly recommend. 10/10, would shrimp again.“

“A few dozen oysters were had tonight—all fabulous. But my faves were something I’ve never had before: The BBQ oysters with house-made blue cheese dressing. Just delicious. I couldn’t decide which type of mussels—fra diablo or the pesto chardonnay—so I ordered them both. I was not disappointed. Ask for the garlic bread. OMG. Chef Megan and Brenna took great care of us. It was nice to see David too! 10 out of 10 for food, service, and company.“

“Sorry for the long post…I want to give a big shout-out to Aimee Reeves, manager of Miller’s Seawall Grill in Galveston, for going the extra mile! My husband and I, along with our 4 grandchildren drove in late Tuesday afternoon/evening for a fun-filled getaway prior to school starting.. By the time we unloaded all the luggage at the hotel, everyone was starving. Our nephew from Houston suggested we try Miller’s for some good, downhome cooking. At 8:15 pm we pulled in the parking lot, all 6 of us got out of the vehicle, chatting it up, excited about our plans for the next several days and walked right past the sign on the door stating “closes at 8 pm”!! We were kindly told that the kitchen was closed for the evening. The young man could see the disappointed looks on our faces and asked us to wait just a minute. He came back with Ms Aimee who graciously walked us to a table. We were not rushed to order and was pleasantly greeted by Mr Edward T. our Server. He made sure we were well taken care of.. Needless to say, they didn’t disappoint and the service and food were fabulous! It’s nice to see there are still good people who care! Thank you Miller’s Seawall Grill.“

“It was very delicious don't go hungry because they cook it fresh and it's very very hot you could burn the palate of your mouth! Make sure on the platter you get the trump fried rice instead of the French fries!“

“My mom took me to lunch here today. it wasn't great at all. For a starter, the cheese sticks were so MASSIVE that the cheese didn't melt before the crust browned. I ordered chicken fried steak and garlic mashed potatoes with cream gravy. The cream gravy was like water and had absolutely no flavor whatsoever. The garlic mashed potatoes were awful and gummy, artificial to say the least. My mother ordered fried shrimp and mashed potatoes. The fried shrimp came out with the "crust" white and semi-fried. Very strange. Also, these meals only came with one side, no vegetable option without it being an add on. These meals were $18.99 and $20.99 each! We were very underwhelmed for the price of these entrees. They DO NOT offer a lunch menu either. We will not be back.“

“Doesn't look like much from the outside, so I had a bit of sticker shock when I saw the menu prices ($13 hamburger, $11 chicken fingers), but the food was EXCELLENT. The popcorn shrimp was some of the best I've had on the island, the feta burger and fries were delish, and the chicken quesadillas were the tastiest we've ever had. Chips and salsa were also good.“

“We just went in for a drink so no food eval here. Stepping in is like stepping back in time. There is history here an almost gaudy decor that will never be seen again. You almost expect to see Jack Nicholson walking in talking to Lloyd the bartender. \nThe drinks were perfect, my Jack Daniel’s whiskey sour and my wife’s margarita. You will love the bar at the Galvez and the trip back in time.“

“We are from Nebraska and wanted some fresh seafood and Coopers landing delivered. We got the sea bass to go the first night and it was amazing. We had drinks at the bar that were amazing the lavender lemon drop martini. We came back and ate in the restaurant the second night because it was so good. Our server Chris was amazing and recommended the best dishes and provided the best service. I would recommend this family friendly restaurant with the kindest staff.“

“We had an amazing dining experience at The Black Pearl in Galveston! The Oysters Rockefeller were absolutely outstanding — perfectly baked, rich, and flavorful, easily some of the best we’ve ever had.
What truly made our visit special, though, was our waitress, Barbie. Her kindness, attention to detail, and genuine heart for service made our visit memorable. She went above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect, and her warm personality added such a welcoming touch to our meal.

“I had the Steakhouse Skewer with lobster, filet mignon, and colossal shrimp. It was fabulous, but next time my husband and I will share it. So much food! We were staying at another resort and had no way to take home the leftovers. Our waiter, Ricardo, was absolutely amazing. He made everything so wonderful. My only complaint, which is huge, is about the majority of the clientele. Loud, obnoxious, men wearing backwards caps and shorts in a very elegant atmosphere. When i go to a rather expensive restaurant, I would expect to see better behavior. So many were acting like it was a sports bar.“

Constantly checking to make sure our tea glasses were always full and asking if we needed anything else. Top notch service. We will be back before we leave Galveston. Highly recommend this restaurant. The view of the riverfront was beautiful and a definite plus.“

“If you come here, make sure to ask for Pete! He went above and beyond to make our lunch amazing. I wanted a very specific drink that wasn’t even on the menu, and he worked with the bartender to make it happen, it turned out absolutely perfect. On top of that, he even got the kitchen to make me the Mardi Gras Pasta, even though it’s no longer listed.

Pete also took his time to walk us through all the specials and chef’s specials, which really helped us pick the best dishes. His service, attention, and effort were truly outstanding.

“Pier 21, Halifax, is a good location for tiring the city. Walkable to the boardwalk and the city. A decent walk to the public gardens and other sites. Straight up Spring Garden Road is plenty of shopping and dining. I wish I had known that pier 21 is the location of the Canadian Museum of Immigration. I would have liked enough time to research there. Canadian immigration was very cordial, just remember to bring a government id if you are on a cruise.“

“New favorite place to add to the list when we visit Galveston. We came during happy hour where the food is priced just right. Service was excellent and the managers constantly check to make sure you’re enjoying your meal and don’t need anything! Able to get 2 meals and drinks for under $30 with tip! Can’t beat it!“
