Steak taco and smashburger - The Distinct Palate Kid loved them!

“Do you want to taste a little piece of my beautiful Jalisco México? This place will take you there. I live in Austin and travel about an hr every 2 weeks just to have their amazing birria. My favorite one is the goat one, but they have beef birria as well. Café de olla is a must, just the right amount of piloncillo and coffee. The owner is super friendly and the staff too. If they ever make a mistake on your order, they will solve it ASAP. Great job guys and I wish you would open one close to Austin jejeje.“

“Exceptional! Frank’s Tacos is an absolute gem on 3501 S Loop 1604 E. Everything was amazing — we all had the mini tacos, and they were packed with flavor and perfectly cooked. The salsa and charro beans were phenomenal and really brought everything together. You can tell they put pride into their food. I have gone to every other Mexican restaurant here in San Antonio just to try the asada burritos and no one, nothing compares so far! I drive 15 minutes just to go get a treat, this special burrito from this taco truck. I hope they stay open forever and don’t change a thing about their recipes! The meat is seasoned so well and everything, even just the quesadilla is so tasty! This last time I tried the carne asada Sinceonzada (pictured. No burrito pic because I quickly inhaled it) which is like a flat 2 tortilla quesadilla topped with crema, lettuce tomato and avocado, (a plenty good amount of avocado!) and I realized I had to do a review! This place really has a special place in my heart, kudos to the chef, it has good prices too and a yummy creamy green salsa as well!“

“I'm not exaggerating when I say this is my favorite place to eat in San Antonio. Located near the airport in a tucked away location, RO-HO Pork & Bread is a hidden gem. This is comfort food at it's finest. Ro-Ho has many great things on the menu, but they are best known for their Torta Ahogada, and it's what I get almost every time. The torta is always hot, the carnitas cooked to perfection, and the tomato salsa is to die for. You can get the torta with straight carnitas or you can mix it up with carnitas, pork stomach and skin, which is what I usually get. The torta also comes with cabbage, onion, radish and lime. No matter how you order it, it's going to be great! The place is super cool, with Mexican artwork and music. There is inside seating and an outside covered patio as well. Everything you can get to drink from the cold case is always ice cold. And they serve one of my favorite Mexican beers, Victoria. Chef Rojo is often around and greets customers. The ladies that work the register and food line are so friendly, and will answer questions if it's your first time. The place fills up quickly at lunch, so keep that in mind. I drive clear across town for my Torta Ahogada fix, if that says anything! Check this place out!“
