And they even had some good mocktails - as a non-drinker, I appreciate when a restaurant takes the time to create drinks that make me feel welcomed. The happy hour choice of oyster was beyond what I expected! Big, ytasty. I’m a very picky oyster-ess! St. Louis, Mo. is not known for seafood AT ALL. “This review is way overdue! Stopped here on a day trip gathering supplies for my tea shop with the hubby! Owner was really kind, fish was crunchy and fresh! Would recommend highly! Living in Port Angeles on the water with fresh fish I am very particular about my fish and chips, these fit the bill! Moist fish, crunchy batter! Could use a tad more spices but I lived in the south so I just want extra spice. 4.5 out of 5 stars! Check them out!“

“Had a hankering Sunday evening for an elite Lobstah Roll while in Newport, RI so I did a lil internet searching and Luke's was consistently at the top of the list. Checked out their menu online and saw they offered a Lobster Roll flight! SOLD! Off I went to find parking and get an order ASAP. Found Luke's on the corner on the Wharf and got to ordering with a quickness. Lobster Roll Sampler with three 2 oz half-rolls: lemon butter, spicy honey butter, and truffle butter w/ chips and a soft drink. Choice of Sea Salt or Sea Salt and Vinegar Kettle Chips, and choice of beverage. I got the Sea Salt and Vinegar (duh) and Blueberry Lemonade in a glass bottle. The lobster in their rolls comes cold, but for a $1 upcharge, you can get it warm, which is my preference. I also got an affordably priced Poppy Seed Slaw. Folks - these Lobster Rolls deserve top billing on "Best Of" lists. My fav might have been the truffle butter lobster roll. It adds something I never knew a lobster roll was missing, but they were all delectable. The roll makes the roll, though. Buttery sourdough with the perfect thin layer of crisp. All flavors were well-balanced and left me wanting more, even though it was plenty food to make a satisfying meal with maybe/maybe not room for dessert. I honestly didn't get any dessert nearby because I didn't want to lose the taste of what I just had! The Poppy Slaw was different, but in a good, not-too-different way. It was a little on the dryer side for my liking, but I liked it just the same. I am sorry to other local Lobster Roll vendors because I don't think I'll try anywhere new on my next visit. It'll be Luke's, no doubt. I might even make a special trip just for the rolls sooner rather than later, but that time I will try the chowder too!“

“Aqua el Goucho James Bushart, General Manager, warmly greeted us as we stepped into his incredible restaurant. He went out of his way to ensure our small group had a memorable experience, from the perfect table, to the numerous great recommendations on the menu. It was refreshing to watch the kitchen staff laugh and enjoy preparing meals. A sign of a great restaurant is a happy, cohesive staff. Our waitress, Natalie, was a joy. Such a sparkling personality and very, very attentive. She ensured everything was perfect. Their Sommelier, Jim, did not disappoint. His wine list is outstanding and featured several very hard to find varietals that we anxiously tried. The food was prepared perfectly; everything was simply over the top! Our group tried a variety from the menu, delicious seafood, steak, and tasty sides. The sea bass, lobster, salmon, scallops were fabulous and left you wanting more. And, the steaks were delicious - prepared perfect. Side dishes were magnificent with the same attention to detail as the main courses, incredible. If you ever get the opportunity to dine at this fine establishment, ask about the Copper River Salmon. Chef prepares this wonderful fish to perfection! “We had such a wonderful first experience at this restaurant! From the moment we walked in, we were impressed by how clean and well-maintained everything was. The hotpot was incredibly flavorful, and the soup bases were excellent. The sauce section was spotless and very well organized, and all of the food was incredibly fresh and beautifully plated. The vegetables and meats, in particular, were very fresh.

We visited on a weekday during lunch, so not every section of the restaurant was open. What really impressed me was that the staff was still taking the time to thoroughly clean the closed dining section where no guests were sitting. I actually saw employees cleaning and dusting the tops of the light fixtures in that unused area. That level of attention to detail, even in an area that wasn't currently being used, really says a lot about how seriously they take cleanliness. The amount of work they put into keeping the entire dining area clean is remarkable.

A special shout-out to our server, Audrey, who truly made our experience exceptional. Since it was our first time visiting, she took the time to explain how everything worked, recommended meals for us, and showed us how to order. She also helped us with how to properly cook the shrimp paste, which was especially helpful since we were trying it for the first time. She provided us with hand wipes, hair ties, glasses wipes, and aprons as well.

We also witnessed an example of how attentive the service is. The table next to us had been waiting quite a while for their meat entree. Audrey noticed the situation and immediately brought out their missing entree, along with some additional items on the house as an apology for the wait. It was clear that she genuinely cared about making things right for the guests.

The service here is impeccable, and Audrey deserves special recognition for going above and beyond. Combined with the flavorful hotpot, excellent soup bases, freshness of the food, beautiful presentation, and incredible attention to cleanliness, this restaurant made a fantastic first impression. We will definitely be coming back!“

Excellent and knowledgeable staff can make recommendations from the ever-changing menu based on your tastes, and it's easy to have almost any dish modified to be vegetarian or vegan. Perusing the tasting notes on the wine wall is a nice way to pass the time - great prices on the take-home bottles. If you're on a budget (and I usually am), grab a snack or two. “My husband introduced me to Tai Tung shortly after we were married 60 years ago. My sons grew up eating there and much later my granddaughter did too. The food is exquisite, especially shrimp in crab sauce, the service is impeccable and the ambiance is kind of old fashioned and comfortable. In fact, Tai Tung is and always has been virtually the best restaurant in Seattle.“
