“I've been wanting to visit forever, and it didn't disappoint! We arrived near opening time with no wait, but there was a line by the time we finished.

We shared smoked brisket, smoked ayam lumpia, nasi goreng, rujak slaw, and macaroni goreng—just the right amount for three of us. The brisket was tender, and everything was flavorful, with the slaw providing a nice crunch. I'd definitely return!“

“Was looking for a place to eat on my birthday new years day, my stepbro picked it out, he said he ate there 20 yrs ago, I was reluctant as it looked outdated and empty,but I was surprised when the food came in quickly, the staff was friendly and the plates of food were huge! “We eat here about once a month. There’s a large all you care to eat selection, service is fast and they have decent list of beers to go with all the meat. The only problem we’ve had is that their scissors aren’t sharpened- that’s ok, next time we’ll bring our own.“

“I always come here whenever I feel eating Korean food. My favorite here is the cold noodles which I always excited about. I hope they keep this on their menu! It might look weird eating cold noodles, but it is the most delicious soup that I had. When it comes to service, some of server aren’t approachable, how they approach me doesn’t feel welcoming for me. They tend to ignore me most of the time because I usually eat alone. I don’t really mind but it still nice if server is a bit friendly to customers. Overall, food is the best 100/10 always.“

“Very friendly owner. Offered 5% discount on cash payments. We ordered 3 dishes. Kaokao chicken, char siu over rice, and beef brisket noodle soup. The star of the meal was the char siu over rice. We’ll reorder that for sure. The beef brisket’s soup was soy sauce forward, my husband enjoyed the noodle but it was a tad too soft for me. The kaokao chicken is very well cooked, moist chicken, but it was a confused dish imo, so it is not a dish we would reorder. Overall good tasting food, we’d come back for the char siu. The restaurant was very smokey, and it stuck to my body and clothes all day after. So I would not come here before going anywhere important, so you’ll smell of bbq.“

“Came here with my dad for the 1st time today after seeing them advertise on social media. My Pop's ordered the salmon combo plate with mac and cheese + greens. I had the brisket sandwhich combo with a potato latke and side of coleslaw. Came out to just under $50 for the both of us, not bad at all! Unique flavor profile, nice sized portions, and positive atmosphere. The food was fresh, place was clean, and the customer service top tier- the owner was there which was a bonus. “I'm from the southeast and grew up eating some of the best BBQ in the world. I've also had BBQ all over the US, including Texas, Kansas City, Tennessee, Georgia, and the Carolinas. Roderick's doesn't beat the BBQ from back home, but for California BBQ standards, it was a solid 10/10. Overall I'd give them an 8/10 if we're comparing across the entire US BBQ space. “I’ve just recently discovered ibringdasmoke and I’m glad I did! My first order with them was the smoked brisket…it was so good! I just recently ordered a slab of ribs from them and my friend and I loved it! We got a little sample of the Mexican street corn which was very nice of them. I thought it was ok, but my friend enjoyed it. Their spices and the tenderness of their meats are great as well as their bbq sauce. The meat isn’t overly salty which is great. I have recommended this place to my friends and I will definitely be back!“

“I came into this restaurant because usually the lights line was way too long and I was looking for something delicious. And now as much as I love me a good cheap overpacked meal over there at asia, I thought why not try this place out? I love Chinese barbecue. And my goodness did it not disappoint. I was served quickly, efficiently and before you know it, I had some crispy pork belly over rice in my hands.
I didn't get a drink so I had to go nearby to get one. But in between the drive I took a little sample of that pork belly and that initial bite was just absolutely phenomenal. Now I will say because of the way that they get the crispiness. This is more on the saltier side for some of you folks so just be aware of that. But if you're all for that you're going to enjoy this pork belly because it was absolutely fantastic. The crisp to the tenderness of the actual meat itself. You can see it for yourself in the pictures. Absolute chef's kiss. Give yourself a little treat and come by and try this place out.

I will say at the lunch buffet didn't look as appetizing but maybe that's because I'm spoiled with you. Know who but for the barbecue this was immaculate. I'm going to try the duck next

“The fried chicken is crispy outside and juicy tender inside. The various chicken combos are good deals. There is a wait for orders because the food is not precooked and sitting under heat lamps. Parking can be difficult and the small parking lot fills up quickly. I will definitely be returning!“

I have enjoyed many different burgers here but I do love the western style with onion rings and bacon and cheese and of course barbecue sauce. I have been here after trips to the Oakland zoo. I have been here with family members that decided to meet here for a great burger and some fries. I've also been here with just a minimal amount of money in my pocket to enjoy a burger and some comfort close to my home neighborhood off of Davis Street. I have to say this place is a hidden gem and if you know it's worth it to go and have a nice burger the way you like it and enjoy your time in San Leandro. It is close to St. Leander's if you are headed there, but it's also really close to most of downtown San Leandro within walking distance which is really enjoyable if you're looking to go up and down East 14th and enjoy all the different businesses of San Leandro has to offer. I really enjoy this place for the flavor and the burgers the way that they're dressed and the size that you can have. It is definitely worth a try.“

We ordered Lemon Chicken, Chicken Katsu & Masubi and one other item. I clicked yes to include utensils and napkins and I even added in the notes please include utensils, chopsticks and napkins.
Since I am staying at a hotel these were needed. The hotel had no picnicware so my son and I walked to the store down the street to buy some. Got back to cold food that wasn’t in containers that could NOT be heated in the microwave and discovered they didn’t include soy sauce.
The Mac salad was perfect. The rice definitely needed soy sauce. The flavor of the lemon chicken was great even though it was room temp. The katsu lost its texture in the time it Took to get utensil unfortunately.
I’m not trying to be petty over utensil but it really made for an unfortunate experience.“

“This place has the best Chinese barbecue especially Empress chicken, which is my favorite. They used to be in San Leandro and I’m so glad they moved to Oakland. I used to drive from Oakland to San Leandro just to buy their barbecue now longer need to make that trek. So happy they are in Chinatown now“
