“The food was excellent and mouth watering! The staff, friendly and attentive. I highly recommend.“
“A rather odd place. First of all, the tandoori chicken and the palak paneer were fantastic – the best I’ve ever had, I think. However, the naan (we got plain and garlic) was the worst I have ever had. Think thin, bad pizza dough. The basmati rice was alright. Service was friendly but a bit slow and scattered. The women’s bathroom was dirty enough that I decided to wait until I got back home. The tension on the door to the women’s bathroom was set so high that the door slammed into me quite hard.“

“We visited Tiya yesterday. The food was very good and we really enjoyed it. They also gave us a special room, which made our experience even better. The ambience is nice and comfortable. However, the chai was very cold and could be improved. There is also a parking problem around the restaurant. Overall, it was a good experience.“

“Had a great dinner at Copra. Food was great - we had the gunpowder goli vadai, thattukadai fried chicken, masala dosai, Dindigal biryani and dessert. The biryani was a little mild, but rest all very good. We all really enjoyed the dessert especially - gods own coconut variation. My only complaint is that the lighting is way too dim and low that it gives a headache.“

“The karahi was full of flavor, perfectly cooked, and tasted just like homemade food. The saag was fresh, rich, and went so well with the naan. Everything was served hot and the staff was very welcoming too. Definitely a place I’d love to visit again with family and friends. Highly recommend if you’re craving authentic desi food!“
“Excellent service from the workers and owner was so welcoming from the step I entered to the way out. I was delighted with the quality of food and it tasted very nice with the owner even complimenting me with kheer on the house as I was visitor in SF. Overall I would recommend this to all family and friends.“

“Seriously underrated. The owner wanted me to eat the panipuri in the restraunt when it was takeout order saying it would get soggy. I was like nah I'm still going to have that that takeout and he literally poured a bunch of the tamarind water into a Togo coffee cup with lid. The service is second to none. Also the lamb biryani is so good. Cost wise its not overly expensive. Taste wise its rlly good“

“Wow! We visited this restaurant for the first time today and were pleasantly surprised by the incredible taste of their food. They had dairy free options which we really appreciated and absolutely every dish that we ordered was delicious. We'll be coming back to this place for sure!“

“I went at 8:10PM (20 minutes before closing), and they treated me so kindly and let me stay and eat past the closing time. I had a great experience because not only was the food delicious, so was the service, ambiance, and treatment. The food is 100% made with love and you can taste it.“

“I spent a while researching the best Indian food in the Bay Area for my visit and Viva Goa was mentioned frequently even on posts about other spots so we decided to give it a try and we are very glad we did.
We had the Masala Calamari, vegetable Samosas, chicken vindaloo, chicken Tikka Masala, and Chicken Korma. Each curry was delicious, my favorite being the vindaloo but I was getting some curry from each. We also got the Garlic Naan and Paneer Paratha.
On top of the amazing food the service was great. The waiters were very friendly and the restaurant itself was nice. Prices were fair for the quality and I’d happily go again.“

“Great spot for elevated Indian cuisine.
ROOH SF was superisingly good. Overall I enjoyed the experience more than copra because my server was the sweetest guy with great recommendations. I went with more conventional choices instead of some of the more fusion options they have. I was craving north Indian food, and so ordered mostly that, but will be back to try the other offerings.
For apps, got the malai kebab meatballs and tamarind prawn. The meatballs were well spiced and the cream sauce was tasty, the edible flowers also made for great presentation. The prawn was well cooked and tangy with some foam on top to jazz it up.
The butter chicken was spicy, and chicken was smoky and well cooked. The sauce was a great silky consistency you can only get with a seive and a kitchen aid and lots of heavy cream.
The lamb shank was fall off the bone soft with strong flavors of saffron and caramelized onions. This was the the best protein. With some biryani rice this would have been 🔥👨🍳😘(chefs kiss).
The daal makhani was super rich and creamy.
We got naan and onion kulcha. The naan was a little disappointing. It looked like they cooked it in an oven and then blow torched it for a little char on top, or they have a gas tandoor. I have yet to find a good naan in they bay that is crispy and thin with the kind of blistering and smokiness you get back home from charcoal tandoors.
For desert we got the texture of milk which was inventive with the mango moose and rabri. The condensed milk or cream pour was a nice table side element. The rose petals and cardamom and crushed biscuit were good touches.
Ambience is nice and cozy and service as I said before was impeccable. 10/10 will be back.“

“We visited during new year’s eve; the place was empty and service was quick.
The ambience is ambient, food options excellent and drinks also on point.
We ordered chilly momo, tandoori chicken, coconut chicken curry and Indian breads.
The best dish was hands down the chilly momo, super tasty!
Tandoori chicken was overcooked and rubbery.
Coconut chicken curry was tasty too!
The breads were excellent.
I also ordered an old fashioned, and it was powerfully! One drink and I was buzzed.
Our bill was around 120$ for 4 adults.“

“The food is quite good but having a blaring TV in the dining room is so wrong- it cheapens the experience, robs the atmosphere diners might enjoy on a night out. Quite unpleasant. The owners should rethink that and visit other restaurants in SF to see if they are blaring TV’s. San Franciscans do not enjoy having TV’s playing in restaurants. It’s a misunderstanding of the culture here.“

“My dinner partner and I both agree that the physical atmosphere, and food were excellent. The place was almost empty on a Sunday night yet the service was mediocre. We had to keep tracking down the waiter for our hot water for the tea, box for take away, etc. Inattentive. The staff also seemed unhappy or dissatisfied with their jobs. The prices have gone up so don’t feel we got value for our money“

“We enjoyed daal makhani and veg korma with rice. All was delicious. But be forewarned, we asked for a spicy level between mild and medium, and we both found the spice heat level to be way above what would be considered medium at most every other place we've been to. Good food, but very spicy.“

“I came all the way from Indiana (Dhillon)to try Tadka Food Restaurant, and it was totally worth it! The hospitality and food were both excellent.
The service I received was amazing — very friendly and attentive. They also have Indian beer, which was a great addition. We even tried pizza, and the service with that was just as good.
Special thanks to Babli for his outstanding service — he made the experience even better.
Will definitely come again. Highly recommended — give it a try!“

“Oh my God, the chef’s cooking is like a song that brings me back to India. His food is absolutely amazing. Blend of Himalayan, Nepalese and Indian. I think the last time I had food this good I was in India at my aunt’s house. They have gluten-free and dairy free options for their naan and their curries. they have a deal on the menu for $66 a couple you eat literally so much food. It’s insane.“

“I got Karahi Gosht and it was authentic and flavorful. Serving quantity was decent as well. I live in the South Bay and most places over there don't get this dish right. 5* from me, for the Karahi Gosht and Naan. Service understandably took some time because they make it fresh and piping hot. And I went there in between performances of standup comedy at Cobb's next door.“

“My dosa was good. Although I was surprised at the small amount filling inside. But overall I was happy with the food. Note, they don't sell beer or wine yet, but they're cool about letting you bring your own inside & no corkage fee. 👍“

“Solid food, gorgeous ambience.
Came for a late dinner on a Wednesday evening and this place was packed! We were seated within 5 minutes of arriving at 8pm.
To start, we ordered the watermelon salad to share. The presntation was gorgeous and colorful, was a refreshing appetizer to get us started.
For beverages, I had a pour of the fieldworks Belgian and my friend had a mango lassi. Both beverages were served in bespoke glassware and were delicious.
For mains, we ordered the butter chicken and lamb curry (both medium spicy) to share, with a side of naan and two sides of rice. The butter chicken was rich and creamy, while the curry lamb had a nice balance of flavor and heat. Both were enhanced by the side of garlic naan.
Overall, a solid meal and nice ambience.“

“Went there for lunch today and loved it! Surprised it wasn’t more packed, I’m writing a review so more people can know about it and enjoy it! It’s super cute inside, color and vibrant decor, would be great for a casual lunch or a cozy dinner date! Service is friendly and not fussy. I shared a bunch of different things with a friend and everything was super tasty. One of my faves was the Dahi Puri Chaat. Gotta come back to try the other things on the menu!
Oh and the naan is the thinner crispy kind and seemed freshly made!“

“Hole in the wall with delicious food! Today we had saag with potatoes (medium spicy was SO tasty) and vegetable korma with vegetable dumplings and sesame naan. Big fan of the sesame naan! Our usual order is bindi (okra) and lamb vindaloo, and veggie samosas - all of which we consistently love. My husband also got the cumin-spiced lemonade but thought it was a bit salty.“
“We have eaten here four times since Ginger took over the restaurant from the previous owners. The food is excellent — fresh and tasty, the menu offers lots of options, and the service and atmosphere are very nice. I highly recommend this restaurant highly.“
