I suppose it was because the Taco Oasis shack was a first for me,beng used to restaurants, but those people know how to prepare the most tasty tacos I’ve ever eaten. “From the moment we walked into the door to meet our friends, until the time we left feeling pretty good about our Friday night, Cocina de Barrio aced all of our expectations and more. The hosts were just so welcoming and made our out of town guests feel right at home. It was Happy Hour and the bartender grinded out some of THE BEST Cadillac Margaritas in town...and our party of 5 enjoyed many of them. It was obvious that the folks that work at this restaurant aren't lazy, forgetful, or lacked knowledge of their food, OH NO. These folks gloriously worked the entire restaurant as a team, and boy was it fabulous. Delicious fish tacos, grilled shrimp tacos and fresh ceviche, along with delectable braised ribs in mole sauce were served up with perfect timing, and as we enjoyed our dishes and drinks, our server Manuel, was like a Ninja - appearing only when we we appeared to be getting low on something, and quick to replenish or take more of our orders very quickly. “In town Camping at South Carlsbad State Beach and drove to check this place out. I had read they have really good fi as h tacos at s great price ( 11/7/24 $1.30). They definitely are good & filling ! I left happy & full. My wife got a Carne Asada Burrito that she really liked. Nice friendly prompt service and a Salsa Bar too ! 👍 it’s a smallish walk up and order type restaurant in a strip mall but that doesn’t distract from the good food at all with indoor & outdoor seating. We were there on a Thursday evening and the place was busy with lots of take out orders from the locals. We’ll definitely be back when in town“

“Love this place. I grew up next to this place and they have put in the work to stay around. Great people great cooks and the atmosphere is always a good time after a long day or and early morning. There’s outdoor seating and cool art with tvs playing cool things all the time. Go in and try it out. The fish tacos are amazing and I recommend the cali!“

“Ranking for the category of fast casual mexican food, emphasis on seafood. Nice looking and clean, new remodel of a former pizza place in the strip mall. Great service, large menu with a seafood focus and beer & wine. The food was fresh made and tasty. We did not have seafood, but we enjoyed the standard staples. The chicken flautas were crisp but not overcooked. Fries were good. Quesidillas were cooked perfectly and flavorful. Street tacos were a delight. The chilie rellenos/enchilada combo was excellent. Horchata tasted great, but was a little thin, but very refreshing. The guacamole tasted like fresh avocado, excellent, but could use some spices and onion, tomato, etc. The salsa served with chips was just OK. Flavor was good but the salsa was very thin and watery, did not scoop on the chip, and was a disappointment. The chips were OK, but not served warm and tasted like out of a bag. The sour cream also was very thin and quickly became runny, I suggest getting better salsa and sour cream. The food quality was great, and I would eat here again. Plenty of parking and great ADA access. Kid friendly, and a kids menu. A good family place. Service was quick and efficient, and the staff were smiling and friendly, and very knowledgeable.“
