“Love their food!! I always go for their shrimp fried rice, beef with Chinese broccoli, and fried prawns. They have an excellent lunch specials as well. I remember when the original cook used to work at Lily’s Cafe by the old Shakey’s(now IHOP).“

“🐼✨ I have been to a lot of Pandas in the entire Bay Area down to south San Jose and this one has the most flavorful authentic and eclectic flavor. I am so glad I came here!! 🥰😇🥰😇🥰😇🥰 The orange chicken is FAR better than McDonald’s. 🍗“

“This family-run restaurant more than live up to the 5-star reviews and our daughter’s recommendation. What a nice experience: from making the reservation to friendly greeting on arrival, through delicious dessert. Authentic HK cuisine draws SF locals and visitors from all over Asia. Server helped us pick a variety of dim sum and other dishes for our party of 6. Beyond the terrific dumplings, our favorites were Drunken Chicken, Steamed Chilean Seabass, Seafood Ma Po Tofu, Ribeye with Mushroom, and Gai Choy. For dessert we split Egg Yolk Cake, Fried Sesame Ball, and Mango Pudding. We’ll be back, and I highly recommend the restaurant.“

“Excellent Peking Duck but served as only 1 course. Had to wait b20 minutes for our 7:30 reservations. Service was good but not at a professional level. Wine choices are limited but all in all a very good experience and will return when back in the city.“

“This was our first time trying House of Pancakes, and let's just say--the name is definitely misleading in the best way. While you might expect a traditional breakfast spot, this cozy, mom-and-pop-style restaurant serves up hearty Northern Chinese dishes packed with flavor.
We came with a large group of extended family and were impressed with how accommodating and friendly the staff were. They even made thoughtful dish recommendations based on our group size and preferences, which made the experience even better.
We ordered quite a bit to share:
Beef Pancakes (a house specialty)
Lamb Skewers (spicy and non-spicy)
Lamb Dumplings
Pork Dumplings
Lamb Stir-Fried Hand-Pulled Noodles
Fresh Cucumber Salad
Overall, the food was delicious and flavorful. That said, if you're not a fan of lamb (like me), just be aware that the lamb skewers and dumplings can be a bit gamey. The spicy skewers helped mask it a bit, thanks to a generous sprinkle of paprika.
Surprisingly, I really enjoyed the lamb stir-fried noodles--the lamb in that dish was melt-in-your-mouth tender and tasted more like beef than lamb to me. Unfortunately, I couldn't try the beef pancakes due to dietary restrictions, but my cousins absolutely loved them and said they were a must-order.
The pork dumplings were a standout for me--juicy, flavorful, and perfectly cooked. And the cucumber salad was refreshing and balanced everything out nicely.
The restaurant has a small, casual diner vibe that gives it local charm--nothing fancy, but welcoming and perfect for sharing a flavorful meal with family or friends.“

“This was the best Chinese restaurant I’ve ever had in my entire life, and that’s saying something cause I’ve eaten at a lot of different Chinese restaurants. My brothers came with me and they agree. Anytime I’m in San Francisco I will come here.“

“Who knew pineapple bun could be used as a bun?! Love the sparkling teas too… and the spring rolls…. And the chrysanthemum salad… and the ice cream... Actually haven’t tried anything I didn’t like!! If there was one in Oakland, I’d have a serious problem. On that note there ARE a few vacancies on College Ave… just saying 🙏🏼💕😘“

“We were just walking around and looking for a good place to eat. Stumbled upon this spot. Don't be fooled by the handful of people eating during the mid afternoon time this place was fire! Their food was really good. Bit pricey compared to your regular Chinese food spot. But man it was worth it.
Kid-friendliness: Their staff was very patient with our toddler.“

“We stumbled upon this dumpling place and it exceeded our expectations. The menu is focused on small apps, lots of dumplings (boiled, pan fried, soup, XLB) options. We ordered cucumbers, crab puffs, boiled dumplings, XLB, pot stickers, beef noodle soup. Everything was fresh, well seasoned…it reminded us of my mom’s cooking. We didn’t finish some of our dumplings, brought them home and they tasted great even heated with a microwave.
The atmosphere was easy, unpretentious, family friendly, clean. Service was courteous and prompt. We loved our first visit and will definitely be back to try many more dishes.
They also sell frozen dumplings to cook at home!
Kid-friendliness: Casual environment, clean restaurant, clean restrooms. Kids can watch chefs make dumplings.“

“Silly name but this place has the perfect combination of quality, quantity of food, and price. I get several meals over a few days with the generous servings here without breaking the bank. I’m a vegetarian and there are many meatless options including meatless sesame chicken which tastes spot on with great sauce. The salt & pepper tofu is also well prepared, crispy and delicious. I also recommend the meatless chicken, broccoli with garlic sauce on the side, easily one of my favorites.
You simply can’t go wrong here.“

“Yummy dumpling place on Irving St and the prices are extremely affordable for what they offer! I got a beef noodle soup (non-spicy) and it soothed my soul, super delicious and it has that dark but also tender broth. I also tried the Pork and Napa Cabbage dumpling soup and it was light and filling (12 dumplings in the soup). This spot is great for solo-dining and the service is attentive and friendly.
Parking in the area is pretty hard so do plan ahead!“

“This place is a gem. The owners are sweet, the food is fantastic, and the atmosphere is unique and cozy.
The rice is also yummy here. Big portions, fair price.
10/10 recommend the General Tso Tofu. It’s on the sweet side comparatively, but they can make it spicier on request.“

“WenChang is a winner. I was staying a couple blocks away and stumbled upon this nondescript neighborhood eatery, and I’m so glad I did. The food and prices were great. The crispy honey sesame chicken was a treat. I’m not a big fan of sweet dishes, but this plate was loaded with nice pieces of chicken, fried to perfection with the perfect mixture of sweetness and sesame. The soup dumplings are another must-try dish—savory and juicy. The vegetable chow mein was
fresh and not overly cooked. They have two prices for many entrees: cash and credit card. So make sure to bring cash for the best prices.“

“Just found out Serramonte Center has Yang Guo Fu in the food court 😂 Perfect spot for a hot bowl of malatang on a foggy Daly City lunch break. $14.99/lb with fresh veggies, meats, and three soup bases (beef bone, tomato, spicy dry). Loved the beef & lamb rolls, mushrooms, lotus root, and konjac for a lighter option. Their red oil wontons ($5.99) are freshly made and so tasty—can’t wait to try the dim sum they’re adding soon!“

“Great place with a lovely patio, it's expensive of course but they give you value for the money too in the form of delicious dumplings and related delicious food. They are okay for vegetarian options. I ate at this place a lot when it was Savour and never ate outside once. The Patio is much better integrated, covered and fun with the current restaurant.“

“My first time ordering door dash for this restaurant and it did not disappoint!! I ordered 6 dishes total and it was only a little over $100 subtotal, wow, can't get this amount of food anywhere else in the bay area!! All the dishes came piping hot (thanks to the door dash driver) and each container was filled to the brim! I felt like this $100 was well spent, I'm so glad I found this little gem. You guys just earned another loyal returning customers :) please stay in business so I don't have to cook as much!“

“I used to live in SF for a short while and been revisiting Hai Ky for 15 years. I think about the food here a lot - the craft is amazing. It's a regular topic in my group chat.
The broth is restrained but near perfect - the noodles are platonic ideal textures of gloss and chewiness. Glorious, bouncy and well dressed in whatever you get them in. The rice noodles are especially impressive- so fresh and well cooked . The main noodle dish is famous in south china (there's a Netflix china docu) and especially through Thailand Cambodia vietnam and they show the slight inflection of how we eat it in SE Asia. The condiments here are even perfect - just peer into the pristinely sliced chilis perfectly crisp in vinegar brine. Get the special w all the noodles and also the fried fish cake if they still have.
I'm sad to see how abandoned downtown SF and especially Tenderloin feels now on recent visits. A lot of restaurants are barely living anywhere let alone here. I hope selfishly they'll live on for many more years. Support them in all ways- and plz tip all the ppl well. Bless! 🥲“

“Dined here on 1-22-25! Recommend by my wife who ate here with a Postal Staff party. Food portions were outstanding and very tasty! All the staff were friendly and very accommodating. Will definitely come back, as it's hard to find good Chinese food with such generous portions!! Looking at the customers , they seemed to be all regulars returning to such a good place to eat! I definitely found a little gold mine, and almost want to be secretive about this place!!
Thanks,

“This is a nice addition to Clemente Street for spicy hot pot of various varieties. Malatang the numbing Chinese flavor was our draw in to the store, but they have many other versions of soups such as laksa and tom yum. The beef broth was a little weak, but the numbing flavor was quite strong. You pick all of your ingredients and we enjoyed all except we found we didn't like the yam noodles. The staff was really nice and helpful and the interior was modern yet with a little bit of classic Chinese art. Really looking forward to trying this place again and trying the other flavors and ingredients. We are omnivores but we would like to come back and try it with totally vegan soup and ingredients option.“

“Came here for the Taiwanese popcorn chicken and it was incredible. Only giving it four out of five stars because it was missing the fried Thai basil that typically comes with it and also needed the chili powder. Otherwise it was a really delicious snack.“

“Nouvelle Asian cuisine. We enjoyed the tasting menu, which offered many delicious and artistically presented courses including two desserts, all for a reasonable (by San Francisco standards) $120 per person + drinks + taxes + tips, bringing the actual total to $200 per person.
The Happy Crane cocktail made is a gimlet style drink, small yet so tasty that one of us ordered two of them!
Each course was presented promptly. Understandably, given the rapid rise in popularity of this new dining spot, some of the wait staff appeared to be still in training. That said, servers were eager to please and friendly.“

“Good dumplings. We got the spicy pork and chive dumplings. The chive was a little more than the meat in the dumplings but overall quite good. Also got the dan dan noodles, which I prefer with a little more sichuan peppers and spicier but this was quite good. The onion pancakes were crispy and less oily than other places so overall quite good.
The service was quick and efficient.“

“Rice cakes were our favorite and I’d come back for that. It’s served with a smoky thinly sliced chinese bacon, bitter melon which was a great touch, inari tofu skin and peppers, and was spicy ??
We didn’t really like the cumin lamb ribs, it was fatty and had a lot of powder cumin piled on top ?
Chongqing chicken wings were ok nothing too special. Wasn’t that spicy but was a bit numbing.
The Singaporean Mule cocktail was really bad and green ? don’t get it
Cod fried rice - I didn’t really taste the cod.
The taiwanese eggplant wasn’t there for me, I love the ones they make at Taiwan porridge and these weren’t like that. I think it needed some more garlic and flavor, and crispiness from a hotter wok.
We also got the peanuts which were a good opening snack. It was interesting as it’s like the traditional crunchy peanuts but also sits in a bunch of the Gold Plum dumpling vinegar. It was confusing to me ?
I’d still try other things next time as I have good memories here.“

“We dined in for a late lunch as a family of three. The yelp waitlist indicated a 10-20 minute wait and we were surprised to receive a text 5 minutes later.
Food came out hot and fresh. We ordered the Juicy Pork Bao, Pork Xiao Long Bao, Zha Jiang House Special Bean Paste with Mince Pork, Boiled Pork and Chive Dumplings and Fried Tofu.
While there is no separate kids menu, our thirteen month old loved his food so much that he stayed in his high chair for the duration of the meal.
Would highly recommend!“

“First time here, Christmas Eve lunch. We were there 1st customers @ 12:30 for lunch. The place is pretty austere and cold in appearance and in temperature. We asked the server if they could turn on the heat and it was met with a silly little grin. Maybe he didn't understand. Needless to say we all ate w/our jackets on. He brought out the plates for our meal and they too were ice cold. So we all sat on our plates to warm them up, not kidding. They do have a very extensive menu of items to choose from. Overall the meal was really good, food HOT and plentiful. I wouldn't bother with the friend shrimp, only 8 on a plate and they looked like they came out of a package. All items pretty reasonably priced. However, I won't return until summer when the weather and the plates are warmer.“

“Someone recommended the Goto here, and since we were in the area, we had to give it a try.
My husband and I arrived around 9 PM on a Monday night, and I was surprised by how busy it was for such a late hour. Luckily, we only waited a couple of minutes before being seated, and we were given menus right away.
We weren’t super hungry—just curious to try their Goto (beef tripe rice soup)—so we ordered that along with Lechon Kawali (crispy fried pork belly) on the side. I was hoping they had Tokwa’t Baboy to pair with the Goto, but the Lechon Kawali would have to do. Their menu is quite extensive, but we kept it simple.
Our food arrived after about 15 minutes. Despite how busy it was, our server was very kind and attentive throughout. The Goto was solid—the tripe was impressively tender and made the dish. The Lechon Kawali, however, was a bit underwhelming compared to versions we’ve had at other Filipino spots in our area. It also felt a little pricey, hmmm maybe pork is more expensive in Colma?“
