“Although it’s a bit of a drive from Garden Grove, it was definitely worth it. The sushi was incredibly fresh and flavorful, especially the “Trust Me” menu, which gave us a perfect mix of rolls, sashimi, and nigiri.
The restaurant is clean and modern, with attentive service and a calm atmosphere. Even though it gets busy, the staff kept things moving smoothly.
Overall, Sugarfish is a must-visit if you’re looking for high-quality sushi that’s simple, fresh, and satisfying — well worth the extra drive.“

“Great little family-owned place in HB! Sushi is tasty and fresh and their bowls are bomb. From chicken teriyaki bowls (with optional spicy sauce), to curry bowls, to fried chicken to their beef bowls, they are all delicious! They also have a shaved beef bowl that's like Yoshinoya on Steroids!“

“Marugame is amazing! We love the freshly made udon noodles at a great price! Every location of the chain has been consistently high quality. You can choose tempura as a side at the end, and it is freshly made and there is a good variety! Check out the seasonal special bowl.“

“Sushi Town in Costa Mesa was such a nice surprise! It’s right by the I-55 freeway, kind of easy to miss, but totally worth finding. From the moment we walked in, the staff were super friendly, attentive, and made us feel right at home.
We started with the yellowtail collar appetizer, which was amazing — perfectly grilled, crispy on the outside and juicy inside. Then we tried a few nigiri pieces like fatty tuna, negi toro, and fatty yellowtail, and wow — everything was so fresh and just melted in our mouths. The Edo Mae combo was also fantastic, a great mix of traditional and flavorful pieces that showed off the chef’s skills.
We finished it all off with some nice warm sake, which was the perfect way to end the meal.
Honestly, Sushi Town feels like a hidden gem right off the freeway. Great sushi, amazing service, and a cozy vibe — can’t wait to come back!“

“Visited this restaurant for lunch omakase.
Gorgeous and classy interior with upscale, tasteful dining wares. With only 10 bar seats (no tables), the space feels exclusive and intimate.
The food was close to perfection. Each course was paced a bit faster than I would’ve liked, and I wasn’t a huge fan of the toro and pickled radish combo toward the end of the 7-sushi course—the radish was a bit too overpowering and masked the flavor of the toro.
Loved the dessert: shiso sorbet!
Overall, I rate this restaurant 4.5/5 — highly recommend. Their lunch omakase is very reasonably priced.“

“This is an amazing restaurant with fantastic food and truly incredible owners who give back to the community. I recently learned that they’re one of the diamond sponsors supporting Tzu Chi USA, a nonprofit humanitarian organization that has provided significant disaster relief here in the U.S. — including over $2.5 million in cash aid to wildfire survivors in Los Angeles and ongoing support efforts for Maui wildfire survivors and other disaster-affected communities. Thank you for your generosity and leadership.🙏🙏🙏“

“Pricey but we ate deliciously.
Left in the picture: belly roll (amazing, soft fish that is so soft it melts in your mouth)
Right in the picture: Yummy Roll. (With a smokey touch, perfect combination of flavors)
I also recommend the crispy rice and the edamame.“

“Hidden Gem Near South Coast Plaza
I love this small sushi and ramen spot! Our main courses were generous and satisfying, leaving us full and happy. We ordered:
Fresh edamame $3.95 was a nice start. I liked that it had a naturally sweet taste. The BSCR Roll $13.95 and Baked Lobster Roll $15.95 were rich and delicious. The Sashimi Salad $12.95 was refreshing, and the Assorted Sashimi (12 pieces) $26.95 was fresh and well worth it.
The Philly Tempura Roll $13.95 had great texture, and I really liked the Tonkotsu Ramen $13.95 which was warm and satisfying
Overall, everything tasted great, and the prices were very reasonable for the quality. The service was also a standout, exceptionally prompt, friendly, and welcoming. Plus, there’s plenty of parking around.
It’s a true hidden gem that delivers both quality and value!“

“Amazing and delicious food. Had the regular karaage and the sweat and sour karaage. Both were juicy and flavorful. Portions were larger than I expected. The miso was also pretty good. Enjoyed the meal with a Calpico but they had beers available.
Best karaage we have had outside of Japan! Karaage was gluten free so that was great. The potato croquettes are not gluten free. Sad we didn't find this place sooner. We will be back!“

“I really like the sashimi style rice bowls this place has to offer. My favorite is the spicy tuna rice bowl. My daughter loves the regular tuna bowl. The have many different styles bowls to offer, tuna, salmon, etc. there is a nice window display presenting the many different offering.
They are a fair value for what you get. I feel you can spend just as much anywhere else or more but here the fish is fresh and clean. Worth the value to me.
By the way, their Oyako Don Buri is also excellent. The egg omelet cooked just right. It’s a popular dish in Hawaii and Japan. Comfort food“

“The food was delicious, although our chef wasn't that entertaining. He did forget to season some of the food. He did mention he was supposed to be off, so it was like he wasn't even trying in the end. The whole reason my family and I chose to eat there that night was to be entertained. We could have just gone to a steak house and eat if that was the case. I was just bummed out because the other chefs in the place were putting more effort than he did...“

“I ordered the ramen tofu because there normal ramen was a combination of tonkotsu broth with pork and chicken.
Since I don't eat pork, it had to be the tofu one, which is really sad for me. I was expecting them to add chicken to it, but they couldn't, so I had to order a chicken lolipop on the side, which was actually pretty good.
So if you don't like/eat pork it's gonna be hard for you in there but otherwise the ramen tofu was good but I didn't want to eat tofu because I don’t like it but chicken but like I said I had no choice but to order it.“

“I recently visited Curry Do and tried the Chicken Katsu Curry — it was absolutely delicious! The chicken was cooked perfectly: crispy on the outside, tender on the inside, and everything tasted fresh and full of flavor.
The service was just as impressive. Nori and Vanessa were incredibly friendly and attentive, making the whole experience even better. It’s always nice when great food is matched by equally great service.
Highly recommend this spot for anyone craving quality Japanese curry. We drove out from Riverside and will be back, definitely worth the drive!“

“This place is located inside the Mitsuwa market in Costa Mesa, a few blocks south of South Coast Plaza and not far from I-405. It's a typical Japanese Donburi fast-food restaurant, with no surprises on the menu. What's surprising is the more-than-reasonable prices, which may indicate that the food quality is mediocre. Not the case here, trust me.
We had Katsu-curry and a combo of Udon+Katsu-don. The meat was thick and tender, and the Udon was delicious. The food was nicely prepared and delivered promptly. I highly recommend this place not because it's the best Japanese food I've ever had (still pretty good though), but because the value for your money is very high here. I'll definitely be back...“

“⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I had the best experience at Tabu Shabu! I sat out on the patio with my dog and it was absolutely perfect—comfortable, welcoming, and such a great vibe. I ordered a glass of wine and started with the cucumber appetizer and edamame, both super fresh and full of flavor. The highlight was the salmon bowl with rice…so delicious, perfectly cooked, and so satisfying. The service was friendly, the food came out quickly, and they made me (and my pup!) feel totally at home. I think everyone came out at some point to visit with me and my pup. Highly recommend if you’re looking for great food, a relaxing atmosphere, and a dog-friendly spot for a drink and apps (cant do hotpot outside, but still worth it).“

The tuna hand roll was so delicious.
I am a big fan of unagi and the quality is that which you would find in Japan, very tender and delicious.
The atmosphere is very dark modern soothing which feels very classy, absolutely a great date night idea.
Staff were very attentive and service was fast. Highly recommend this restaurant for sushi lovers.
Wasabi is very fresh as well.“
