“We went last night on 10/10/2024. Claudia was our waitress. She did a wonderful job,and her customer service was excellent. We had one issue with a plate. She and the manager took care of it. It wasn't big, but I appreciate them listening. The restaurant has a great atmosphere for a couples outing or dinner. They strive to have good dishes“

“I came with my family here, very clean place, clean restroom, clean everything, good food. Fast service, but please ladies from the front (customer service) smile, you take care of the customer like robots, next, thank you , next, thank you next. I was looking at every single person that was receiving their orders to make sure that chips are given to some odres or to every order. We order two burritos, one pupusa and twelve tacos. We did not received chips at all. I saw people that purchase tacos , receiving their chips, this wasn’t my case. No one gave us our chips😟“

“Likely the best value in the FiDi for a quick breakfast. I got the Huevos Rancheros ($8.95) add Bacon (+$3). I ordered it through Toast and picked it up. My coffee was made fresh when I got there so it would still be HOT!
The Huevos were delicious! Two eggs, both red and green salsa (one on each), black beans, and a bit of cheese. It was the perfect amount and was delicious. A hint of spice from the salsas, the eggs were well seasoned and the tortillas still crispy.
I'll be swinging by here more often than my usual bagel place in the future!“

“I visited Bonita Taqueria and ordered the Mexican street tacos, which come as a set of three – I chose the chicken option. They were very tasty, with fresh ingredients and perfectly warm, soft tortillas.
The staff was super friendly and welcoming, and the atmosphere had a great Latin vibe. It felt relaxed and comfortable – a really pleasant experience overall.
Highly recommend if you’re in the Chestnut Street area and craving authentic, flavorful tacos in a laid-back setting!“

“Great spot at tunnel tops… good atmosphere, good to grab a drink and get some good Mexican food. I enjoyed the mole, my partner had the Tinga but would say it was ok nothing exceptional about it.
Looked like that had a good happy hour so might try it out the next time for some of cocktails.“

“Really delicious! I got the surfer mermaid zapato which is a burrito but toasted crusts kinda like a panini. The habanero sauce (added after) was great and not spicy. Will definitely be coming back!
There’s an entire vegetarian menu page! No protein option, but still good.
Vegetarian options: Burritos, nachos, tacos, and sides!
Dietary restrictions: There’s an entire vegetarian menu page! No protein option, but still good.
Kid-friendliness: Ample seating. Bit dark and loud inside.“

“$16 for a huge steak burrito with added guacamole to go, and it was phenomenal. Easily one of the best burritos I’ve had in ages. Came with a little foil packet with I’m guessing pickled onion, carrot and a jalapeño, and a little cup of red and green salsa. Everything was fantastic, and I will be back again. Parking wasn’t too bad to find a spot, and there’s some tables outside for seating.“

“Barrio at Ghirardelli Square is such a great spot if you're craving Mexican food with a view. The location is perfect right by the waterfront with ocean views that make your taco and margarita moment even better. I had a few tacos and a classic margarita and both were super flavorful and satisfying. The vibe is relaxed and fun and the outdoor seating really adds to the experience especially on a sunny day. Definitely a good stop when exploring the area.“

“They were playing great music. And I just have to say shoutout to our waiter who when I asked about the playlist was so happy to share that he had picked it, and he pulled up his Spotify to share the playlist with us! So so appreciate it and all the Sade vibes we got to experience while dining! 😊“

“One of the best Mexican meals I’ve had in SF—100% better than Chipotle, with all fresh ingredients. I highly recommend the noodle bowl and quinoa bowl. They’re only open from 11 AM to 2 PM, and I just wish they were open longer and on more days. A true hidden gem!“

“After walking the ever so steep San Francisco Hills in this area on the way to China Town, I stumbled upon a quaint little food shop with a tiny little woman by the name of Jasmin.
Entering you are greeted so warmly and kindly.
Her restaurant is not so big. The menu is big and obvious with all the ingredients posted. She serves beer and the theme of the place is very nice.
After taking the order, she quickly hopped over to her cooking area and whipped out the order as quickly and efficiently as it could be. When I got there, a few people trailed right after me and she served them just as well she had her system down.
If you're in the area, I would highly suggest dropping by and picking up a quick bite at Jasmins. ?“

“This place is unreal. We went for $2 al pastor tacos and also got the house made juice, churros, and a couple cold beers. Atmosphere was very fun and homey, food was unbelievably delicious, staff were super kind, and the whole menu is super reasonably priced. Can’t wait to return when back in SF.“

“What a fantastically amazing dinner we had while celebrating our 35th anniversary of being together.
The staff were kind, courteous and attentive. We had a reservation for a table but upon arrival decided we would prefer to sit at the bar. Our hostess said that would be no problem and we were welcome to choose any seat we wanted in the restaurant.
The bartender immediately asked us if we would like some water while we were looking over the menu. He brought two large glasses of ice water and to our surprise and delight it was cucumber water, my personal favorite.
There were so many interesting items on the menu we had a difficult time deciding what to order. Our bartender was able to offer us some of his favorites as well as some of the most popular items ordered by other guests. We ordered about half of his suggestions and were not disappointed by any of them.
Starting with our cocktails. I has a drink called Cara de Rosas. It was presented in a beautiful glass with a rose shaped ice cube. My husband enjoyed a gin and soda made with one of Hendrick's Neptune specialty gin he had not had before. My second drink was one of there speciality drinks called Leon y Sol. A deliciously light Tequila drink with round saffron ice cubes. The attention to detail on every level heightened our experience.
The entire top shelf of the bar was filled with Mezcal & the lower shelf was all Tequila. Plenty of choices.
Moving right along to our food selections. We decided to go the small plates route so we could try more items. Our first choice was chips, salsa & guacamole. I know that sounds boring but it wasn't. There were multiple choices of salsa, we chose the pomegranate one & guacamole as our second item. You were allowed to pick 2 to go with your chips from a list of several choices. The chips were different types, one was the standard tortilla chip & the other was listed as a lovash chip which had a tasty sprinkling of spices on it. Both were light & super crispy.
Next we had the pomegranate chicken wings. This was a much larger portion than we expected. It had 4 full wings. They were succulent & had a delicious sauce generously covering every wing not just the top ones. Plenty of pomegranate seeds were sprinkled on top. I would highly recommend ordering these, they were our favorite amongst everything we ordered.
Another must try item were the corn ribs. Small pieces of corn on the cob with the tiniest part of the cob attached so the corn held together. Once again seasoned perfectly and a sauce to add on top that made this dish irresistible!
On the recommendation of our bartender we tried the fish tacos and the filet mignon tacos. The fish was light and fluffy, it melted in your mouth. The filet was amazing. Tender and juicy. You could defitely tell it was a filet cut you were having. Each order had 2 tacos which made sharing perfect.
My husband had never had bone marrow so we gave that a try. It was served with a pomegranate chutney and seeded bread. The combination was outstanding.
The only item we had that wasn't beyond spectacular was the dessert. We ordered the churros. Crunchy on the outside & creamy on the inside. Too much cinnamon sugar coating for my taste & served with a very heavy chocolate sauce that overwhelmed the taste of the churros. This dish would have been better with a light powered sugar dusting, which would have melted onto the hot churros, and served with a thick Mexican hot chocolate to dip them in.
There was a long banquet that ran the length of the main dining area with several very small & short cocktail sized tables with round, short, stool like chairs that had barely any back on them. Taller patrons would find this seating to be a challenge.
We will definitely be back. Great place to bring friends.“

“I kid you not these are the best chilaquiles in the world. Everywhere I go in Latin America I order chilaquiles and nowhere compares. These are the best. (Been eating here since 2010? 2012?)
Try and get there before 11:00am. The line starts to get long and they run out of chilaquiles eventually.“

“I lived close by and dropped in one day to check out the eats. The Chile Colorado peaked my interest, and it was like "Heaven"! . So pretty much every time since, the friendly staff would remember me and my passion for it. They'd see me walk in the door and instantly know... Chile Colorado! :) ( pro tip- while you wait, walk over to the painfully slow Safeway next door , buy Jardine's ghost pepper salsa and add a generous portion on top)“

“Leuk tentje waar we heerlijk hebben gegeten. Met veel vegan opties was het even kiezen! Als aanrader hebben we beide een homemade juice op. Ananas en meloen en die smaakte beide verrukkelijk! De nacho's en guacamole waren ook erg lekker en alles werd mooi opgediend! Aanrader als je in SF bent! Updated from previous review on 2025-07-17“

“Went here for a somewhat large family gathering. While not the best Mexican food I've ever had the quality was good. Every one in the group seemed to enjoy their meals and my steak burrito hit the spot. Margaritas were pretty good too. Staff were friendly and attentive.
I would suggest you guys take orders at the table like a normal restaurant instead of making us go up to the front desk and order. I get that you are probably short staffed but getting our group of over 10 people to the front of the restaurant and ordered took way longer than was necessary, and we ended up making other customers wait while we got everything sorted.
While I don't mind paying for my meal before I eat it, if you are paying with a credit card it means you have to tip before receiving service, which just seems backwards to me (a tip should be a thank you).
Would go back again.“

“The restaurant is oppressively loud. My 6yo was upset about how loud it was the whole time; my husband was so overwhelmed after an hour he was itching to leave; and my 11yo son, mom, and I were frustrated that we had to yell at each other to be heard.“

“I LOVE this lil spot. It's not like the greatest Mexican food, but I'm from LA and that's not a humble brag it's a matter of proximity and culture. I've been real disappointed since I moved here in the choices for acceptable Latino food, excepting a few spots. This is one of them, not just because it's around the corner, not just because of the absolutely warmth the staff meets me with on appearance, but because it's pretty friggin tasty.I think I got a minor stomach bug once to be completely honest. But I've gone back. Take that as you will.Specifically:The salsas are tasty as heck. The nachos are LOADED and the selection of meats is diverse, with fantastic pollo verde y rojo; birria; camarones - todo lo que quieres, amor. The quesadillas are PROPERLY STUFFED and also, for lack of a more descriptive explanation, just darn tasty.Friend got the super tacos one time and them tacos was SUPER. Absolutely stacked.I will say - as far as a burrito mojado goes, I DO wish they were just a bit more mojado. But that's just my typa burrito.Do yourself a favor and get an agua fresca or a corona and have a little seat in the modest dining area. It's not such a bad place for a good chill. And it's a good place for a good meal.<3“

“First off, the restaurant is beautifully decorated, so from the moment we arrived, we were excited.
The staff was all very kind and personable. They took the time to explain items on the menu and accommodated both our bilingual and english only members of the group.
The food and drinks were also extremely good and the prices were fair.
Highly recommend giving this place a try and we'll definitely be back.“
