“The restaurant experience was great! Service was super kind. I got the Al pastor tacos and liked them. I do however wish that the tacos came with two corn shells instead of just one as they fell apart instantly. I also only got one napkin. I didn't get the salsa verde until the person came out and offered it but once I put it on the tacos it was so so good. I think if this restaurant put the sauce out with the meal and put two corn tortillas on every taco this would be an easy five star.“

The inside is the exact vibe we were going for, music wasn’t too loud so we could talk, felt like a warm welcoming environment. The food was amazing. Went there tonight and headed back tomorrow morning to try their breakfast burritos with my bf. I would go as far as to say it’s my favorite place in SF.“

On our way back to the hotel, we came by Cenote. It didn’t look like much from the outside. It only had a few small tables with hard stool-style seats, fast food style. However…. The food was incredible! The four of us had all a different dish, and all four dishes looked beautiful. The flavors were fresh and very tasty. No disappointment! If you are looking for a mid-range priced dinner with awesome flavor in that neighborhood, this is your place! We all paid less than $20 for a fabulous dinner. Highly recommended if you like fresh and flavorful Mexican food.“

We shared the Butter Lettuce Salad and Huevos Benedictinos, which were both exceptionally flavorful. The patio offers a delightful ambiance, making it an ideal setting for dining. We have added Colibri Mexican Bistro to our list for dinner and plan to return for brunch.“

“I came with my family here, very clean place, clean restroom, clean everything, good food. Fast service, but please ladies from the front (customer service) smile, you take care of the customer like robots, next, thank you , next, thank you next. I was looking at every single person that was receiving their orders to make sure that chips are given to some odres or to every order. We order two burritos, one pupusa and twelve tacos. We did not received chips at all. I saw people that purchase tacos , receiving their chips, this wasn’t my case. No one gave us our chips😟“

“Mixiote is a hidden gem in San Francisco. I have eaten here more times than I can count, and the food is always delicious, consistent, and a great value. The staff and owner are also wonderful. I highly recommend the quesadilla or rice bowl with half chicken/half rajas con queso (my personal favorite).“

“My favorite Mexican joint in a city overflowing with delicious MX food. I loved the Shrimp and Snapper Ceviche Tostadas, the Bohemian Beer Battered Fish Tacos, the Chilaquiles “Verdes,” and the Tamales Plate (I got one Maurilia Pork Tamale and one Butternut Squash and Cheese Tamale). Later I tried the Tamales Plate with one Chicken Mole Tamale and one Tamale Brazo de Reina (with chard pumpkinseed pesto, eggs, and salsa habanero). These were also good, but the first two tamales were best. My favorite item of all time might be the Niman Ranch Beef Brisket Tacos Quesabirria. The only items I have not liked as much were the Crispy Chicken Tacos with Guacamole, which were flavorful but dry, and the Crispy Shrimp Tacos, which were tasty but skimped on the shrimp. Service is competent and efficient. Portions are generous. Bring a healthy appetite.“

“Good food, good service, and an excellent value. I've been going to this place for over 20 years and the staff know me very well. The salsa bar and fresh chips have always been a nice perk that set its apart from other places which have come and gone. It's always busy around lunchtime and parking lot can packed but they get orders out quickly. I usually get my food to go but dining in is a pretty comfortable experience. They've steadily upgraded the interior over the years and recently got all new tables/chairs.“

“While visiting San Francisco’s Presidio National Park and the nearby Walt Disney Family Museum on August 11 2023, we came upon several food trucks parked up, one of which was El Fuego Authentic Mexican. It had the longest line of them all so we figured the food must be good. The delicious smell also was a big draw! We joined the long line and waited patiently for 15 minutes to be served. As we neared the truck, a lady crossed out the fish tacos on the menu - they must have been popular. We had to quickly rethink what we’d like to order. We went for the following (to share): 🌮 Combo de Lux 🥤 Mexican Coca-Cola (500ml in glass bottles) x 2 The Combo de Lux consisted of: Soft taco x 1 Mulita (sandwich taco) x 1 Quesabirria x 1 Consommé (broth) Pots of mild and spicy salsa We were given a pager so we would know when to return to the hatch. It was an exciting 10 minute wait while the tasty delights were freshly prepared inside the food truck. We took our food over to some large plastic rocking chairs on the Main Parade Lawn (opposite the Walt Disney Family Museum) and tucked in without delay. The food was incredible: full of birria-style beef, cheesy, spicy, tasty, juicy. We had to take great care when eating it, as it was a breezy day and we didn’t want to make a mess. The consommé was new to us. We didn’t dip the quesabirria into the broth - we drank it! The flavors were very rich, with a little spicy kick. El Fuego really was a good choice and just what we needed for lunch having walked many miles around San Francisco. These were our first authentic tacos in California and the benchmark has now been set very high!“
