“I came with my family here, very clean place, clean restroom, clean everything, good food. Fast service, but please ladies from the front (customer service) smile, you take care of the customer like robots, next, thank you , next, thank you next. I was looking at every single person that was receiving their orders to make sure that chips are given to some odres or to every order. We order two burritos, one pupusa and twelve tacos. We did not received chips at all. I saw people that purchase tacos , receiving their chips, this wasn’t my case. No one gave us our chips😟“

“My partner and I came into the location today on a whim. We were pleasantly surprised. We loved our super burrito and horchata. Both were delicious and some of the best we have had in the area for sure. Will definitely be coming back to this location in the future!“

“My favorite Mexican joint in a city overflowing with delicious MX food. I loved the Shrimp and Snapper Ceviche Tostadas, the Bohemian Beer Battered Fish Tacos, the Chilaquiles “Verdes,” and the Tamales Plate (I got one Maurilia Pork Tamale and one Butternut Squash and Cheese Tamale). Later I tried the Tamales Plate with one Chicken Mole Tamale and one Tamale Brazo de Reina (with chard pumpkinseed pesto, eggs, and salsa habanero). These were also good, but the first two tamales were best. My favorite item of all time might be the Niman Ranch Beef Brisket Tacos Quesabirria. The only items I have not liked as much were the Crispy Chicken Tacos with Guacamole, which were flavorful but dry, and the Crispy Shrimp Tacos, which were tasty but skimped on the shrimp. Service is competent and efficient. Portions are generous. Bring a healthy appetite.“

“Went here for a somewhat large family gathering. While not the best Mexican food I've ever had the quality was good. Every one in the group seemed to enjoy their meals and my steak burrito hit the spot. Margaritas were pretty good too. Staff were friendly and attentive.
I would suggest you guys take orders at the table like a normal restaurant instead of making us go up to the front desk and order. I get that you are probably short staffed but getting our group of over 10 people to the front of the restaurant and ordered took way longer than was necessary, and we ended up making other customers wait while we got everything sorted.
While I don't mind paying for my meal before I eat it, if you are paying with a credit card it means you have to tip before receiving service, which just seems backwards to me (a tip should be a thank you).

“Good food, good service, and an excellent value. I've been going to this place for over 20 years and the staff know me very well. The salsa bar and fresh chips have always been a nice perk that set its apart from other places which have come and gone. It's always busy around lunchtime and parking lot can packed but they get orders out quickly. I usually get my food to go but dining in is a pretty comfortable experience. They've steadily upgraded the interior over the years and recently got all new tables/chairs.“

“I went in for the first time today and it definitely won't be the last. I got a burrito and a taco, both with the pollo tinga. The flavor was absolutely killer and the meat was sooo juicy in the best way. Even the tortilla chips had the right amount of salt. And on top of all that, the service was great. I didn't catch the server's name, which is my bad, but he was super friendly and seemed to enjoy his work.

If they want to make more money off of me next time, I'd love to be able to buy a bottle of the salsas they make. They do really nice green and habanero salsas, but my favorite was definitely the red. I will be back!“

“Wow! This place is great. We had the Chile Verdi Plate and a salad with shrimp. The plate was a good size portion and both were delicious. I loved the vinaigrette dressing on the salad and the flavor on the shrimp. We’ll be back to try more- in saw the nachos as we were leaving and they looked devine.

The outdoor area was really pleasant as well. We had a very good meal here.

Edit to add- both the grilled chicken burrito and the butternut squash burrito were fantastic. The squash had a delicious char to it.“

“I wouldn't call it a restaurant. It's more like a food joint in the Ferry Building area.

I tried their green enchilladas and boy it was good. I almost never choose Mexican food, but well let's just say someone influenced me to try this place.

In summary I loved the food. It was really delicious - served with black beans and rice on the side.

I don't know how is their other stuff but what I got was amazing.

As for ambience like I said it is pretty much a food joint - there is no such ambience but the atmosphere around Ferry area on a sunny day will be nice.“

“While visiting San Francisco’s Presidio National Park and the nearby Walt Disney Family Museum on August 11 2023, we came upon several food trucks parked up, one of which was El Fuego Authentic Mexican. It had the longest line of them all so we figured the food must be good. The delicious smell also was a big draw! We joined the long line and waited patiently for 15 minutes to be served. As we neared the truck, a lady crossed out the fish tacos on the menu - they must have been popular. We had to quickly rethink what we’d like to order. We went for the following (to share): 🌮 Combo de Lux 🥤 Mexican Coca-Cola (500ml in glass bottles) x 2 The Combo de Lux consisted of: Soft taco x 1 Mulita (sandwich taco) x 1 Quesabirria x 1 Consommé (broth) Pots of mild and spicy salsa We were given a pager so we would know when to return to the hatch. It was an exciting 10 minute wait while the tasty delights were freshly prepared inside the food truck. We took our food over to some large plastic rocking chairs on the Main Parade Lawn (opposite the Walt Disney Family Museum) and tucked in without delay. The food was incredible: full of birria-style beef, cheesy, spicy, tasty, juicy. We had to take great care when eating it, as it was a breezy day and we didn’t want to make a mess. The consommé was new to us. We didn’t dip the quesabirria into the broth - we drank it! The flavors were very rich, with a little spicy kick. El Fuego really was a good choice and just what we needed for lunch having walked many miles around San Francisco. These were our first authentic tacos in California and the benchmark has now been set very high!“
