“I invited my sister for her birthday -- something light and savory, Pho and spring rolls (and a couple of Boba drinks). From the start, my how things have changed. I came here when they were starting out, and it was similar but not the same. There was a long line and a short wait -- service is fast, albeit a little frenetic and high volume ambient noise. But, I'm there to eat and that is what we did. Surprise! The spring rolls shrunk, still good, just not too plenty. But, overall, it is as good as I remember it when they opened many years ago! #TheBrokerWithAHeart“

“Not bad for Daly City. The restaurant was mostly empty on a Monday evening. The menu has a big +$1 price adjustment on top. My Five Spice Chicken garlic noodles $16 tasted OK. The chicken was a bit dry. Luckily they have fish sauce on the side. The pickled vegetables were served on top of leave lettuce. The garlic noodles had a hint of butter and a mild garlic taste. The disappointing part was that some of the noodles would break apart due to them being flimsy. Service was fine as I received a water refill. I was left a bit hungry still and had to get some popcorn chicken and a Thai iced tea next door.“

Seems like instantly the food is at the table and we are all ready to eat. Food prices are great and service is great. Another time again and this is one place I will continue to go when I come to Daly City.“

“I love this place so much. It’s quickly become a neighborhood staple and my favorite Vietnamese in the city (I used to live near Turtle Tower in Little Saigon so my bar is high)! Things I love -

- The classic beef pho broth is flavorful, savory - not overly sweet or spiced, and not watered down. It’s just perfect. They don’t skimp on portions for meat or noodles.
- You can sub fresh rice noodles for classic pho noodles, which I personally love. Less chewy but soft and comforting.
- they have greater variety than typical of a pho spot. You can get classic beef pho but they also have Bun Rieu (a tomato and shrimp/crab paste noodle soup that’s delish).
- everything’s incredibly fresh. Not a wilty herb in sight.
- finally, they service!! They are insanely kind. The owners are warm and friendly. My three year old daughter was sad that I ate her noodles 😅 and the owner packed her extra to go.

This will be our go-to spot for years to come.“

“very happy to have a new vietnamese place on haight street! both the banh mis are delicious. the pho is solid but not as flavorful as I'm used to, could've even used just some more fish sauce. But, everything is quality and the restaurant is nice, intimate, and great for grabbing a bite by yourself. I'm excited to try their other stuff!“

“Amazing Banh Mi! Everything about it was amazing. I usually have trouble with the crispy portion but this bread had a thin crisp with a nice soft inner. When I went around 2pm they ran out of pork so I got a beef instead. No regrets because this is the best beef banh mi I've ever had. Very tender meat and well seasoned. I loved the amount of veggies packed in as well.

“Ordered Crunch Combo and Lemongrass beef sandwiches. Cut them in half and shared half a sandwich each with a friend at Marina Green.

Crunch has a thin veneer of delicious pate on the bottom bread. Bread was crispy on top and soft throughout which was easy to chew. Sometimes Banh mi bread makes my jaw ache from excessive chewing. The bread they use is fantastic.

The only gripe is that there was a mouthful of gristle in my lemongrass beef, but otherwise, the sandwiches were delicious and composed well.

I’ll definitely come back. Forget the others. So far, it’s my favorite/the best Banh mi I’ve tried in San Francisco.“

“Saigon BBQ Noodle House is one of my favorite go-tos for Vietnamese in San Francisco. We had almost all the vegan dishes. The apps are a good small size, but the entrees are huge. Just so tasty. And the family there is so polite, kind and accommodating. The chef really knows what’s she’s doing. This isn’t a place where they have a random bland vegan option so they can check the box. These folks know what they are doing. “Just tried for the 1st time today and ordered takeout bbq pork banh mi sandwich and a Vietnamese iced coffee. Seems like a family owned mom&pop shop, super sweet friendly service. BBQ pork banh mi sandwich was excellent, perfectly toasted bread on the outside, soft on the inside (not hard and rough like other banh mi sandwiches that hurt the roof of your mouth), delicious BBQ pork flavor, stuffed with fresh yummy pickled veggies, flavors were spot on. Vietnamese iced coffee was good, could be a bit stronger and creamier for my tastes. Overall would highly recommend. Can't wait to come back. =)“

“I am amazed there are not more reviews. This place is fantastic and consistently has long lunch lines. I usually have the Bun Thit Nuong (Pork Shoulder Noodle Bowl). “On a really cold day in SF, this was absolutely what I needed to have in my stomach. I was so hungry and did not really want to walk too far or Uber anywhere so I was lucky enough to stumble upon this place. Even though it’s a bit cramped and looks a little run down, it was very cozy to sit in and get away from the cold.

I ordered my soup and it was ready in less than ten minutes. I ordered a small and let me just say it looked more like a large. I can’t even imagine what the large looks like. “To start, this is only a takeout place. No sitting area here, although I saw chairs hanging upside down. Went on a weekday around 1 and there were 5 people before me waiting for their orders. The service was very fast. The menu is small with one veggie/vegan option and 5-6 meat options. Similar options available for sandwiches, salads and bowls.
I ordered Teriyaki Tofu Vegan Banh Mi. This was the only option in any variety. Sandwich was good. Tofu was juicy but with hints of oilyness. Had mixed feelings while eating it. Veggies were cruncy inside but was missing some kind of sauce in it. Overall, a good sandwich and can be tried once.“

“I got the roasted pork salad noodle bowl. It’s probably one of the best bun dishes I’ve had in a while. There’s a large, perfectly cooked amount of meat. This location is perfect for crab and lobster lovers. We ordered the crab and lobster set menu and had both the crab and lobster cooked with garlic sauce. “Colder rainy weather has activated my soup craving. I recently stumbled upon this Vietnamese restaurant, and it’s going to be my new ‘go to’ for pho. Pretty sure this was the best pho I’ve ever had. The broth is deep and flavorful and they don’t skimp on the meat portions

The real surprise was their magical made in-house chili oil. The service was friendly and quick, and the atmosphere was warm and inviting. “The banh mi are delicious and the lady who runs this place is super nice. I always get the tofu banh mi, it can be made vegan with no mayo. This is a regular lunch staple on a nice day and then we eat in the panhandle. There are no frills counters if you want to eat in.“

“This was one of the best bowls of pho I’ve ever had. I’m new to Hanoi-style pho—everything I’ve had up until now has been Saigon-style—but even as a newcomer to this style, it was clear this bowl was exceptionally well-made.

The broth was outstanding: clear, light, deeply flavorful, and remarkably clean. Unlike most pho places where a thin film of oil floats on top, this broth had no visible grease—something only achievable through real care and technique. Whether they meticulously skimmed it or chilled and defatted it before reheating, the result was a broth that felt refined and deliberate. You could taste the time and attention that went into it.

The meat was equally impressive—tender, juicy, and full of flavor. At many pho spots, rare steak can arrive overcooked or tough, but here, it was perfectly cooked and richly satisfying. The portion size was generous, too.

If I had to offer small criticisms: I personally prefer my noodles a bit more al dente, and I found the tendon slightly inconsistent—some pieces were beautifully soft, while others were a little too firm for my taste. That may just be part of the style, though, and not a flaw.

I also ordered the crab spring rolls, which were excellent. Freshly fried to order, the exterior was crisp, craggy, and delicate, while the filling was juicy and vibrant with fresh vegetables. Easily among the best I’ve had.

I ordered their imperial rolls, and the large #1 House special beef soup noodle, which comes with sliced lean beef, brisket, beef tendon, beef tripe, beef balls, and a side plate of bean sprouts, basil, jalopieno, and lemon.

The imperial rolls were just alright; they didn't have enough flavor, lacking the distinct white pepper taste. I would try their shrimp spring rolls next time!

The combination pho tasted delicious, the broth was fragrant, the noodles were cooked to the right texture, and it came loaded with meats.

“Tin is an economical Vietnamese lunch place catering to the local corporate crowd with delicious food available as rice, soup pho, and other entrees with fast service and reasonable prices.

Went in for lunch as I was in the area. Order BBQ pork with rice, and a bit of spicy chili on the side. The pork is sliced very thin, and nicely grilled. When dipped in the supplied sauce with a bit of tang, plus some of the picked veggies, it's a good combination of tastes.

The place is semi-self-serve. You order the combo you want, sit down, and when it's ready they'll bring it to your table.

Ordered BBQ pork over rice, plus a diet coke (can) plus tax and tip (18%) came out to be about $24, which is pretty reasonable for lunch.

They can also provide bahn mi (sandwich) and pho (noodle soup) if you prefer your food in those forms.“

On a recent morning visit, #21 - Pho Dac Biet (standard combination beef pho) unfortunately came lukewarm with over-cooked noodles.

“Our first time at the new location, and it's such a new place! I love the bar area 😍 they have high/ low stools . I ordered the Tiger Prawns w/ the Garlic Noodles and the Seafood Fried Rice. The Raspberry Lemon Drop is a must try!!
