“I had an absolutely fantastic experience at Wake Sakura in Gardena! It’s located on the second floor of the Tokyo Central market, which is a cool experience in itself. The restaurant has a sleek, modern, and clean atmosphere that feels very authentic.
You order everything on a tablet at your booth, and the plates are delivered directly to you on a high-speed conveyor belt, which is both efficient and fun to watch.
But the star of the show was, without a doubt, the Tuna Lovers plate. If you are a fan of tuna, this is a must-order. The quality was exceptional, especially for a conveyor belt-style restaurant. It featured a beautiful variety of cuts, from lean, clean-tasting akami to the rich, melt-in-your-mouth fatty toro. Every single piece was incredibly fresh, had a great texture, and was served on perfectly seasoned rice.

“I recently visited this sushi spot and ordered the yellowtail sashimi, albacore sashimi (the one topped with fried onions), edamame, spicy tuna, sticky rice, a cucumber roll, and the Bulgogi fries. Everything was delicious and came out quickly.

The staff was attentive in the best way—checking in at the right moments and making sure I had everything I needed without ever feeling intrusive. Great service and great food.

“Since I'm a very picky Japanese food eater, I tend to avoid anything that might be Japanese where it's not 100% Japanese. That said, I do enjoy the Thai food here. It's decent and filling. The staff are polite and I like it because it's in walking distance for me.

I have tried some Japanese-ish food like the lobster rolls or teriyaki chicken. Those dishes weren't bad if you consider them more California Asian cuisine. The prices are what you might expect these days for a spot like this. They do have lunch time specials so I think those are worth making the trip if you're in the area and want some decent Thai etc or something different.“

“Sora Sushi at Parkwest Bicycle Casino is a hidden gem.
Given its location in Bell Gardens—tucked inside a card room—I didn’t expect much. But I was genuinely impressed. The quality of the sushi is top-tier for the area, and it has consistently delivered fresh, well-prepared fish every time I’ve visited.

What really stands out is the value. Compared to high-end spots like Blue Ribbon at The Grove, Sora Sushi offers nearly the same quality at about half the price. It’s a no-frills spot that over-delivers, making it a great find for sushi lovers who care about freshness without breaking the bank. The most crazy part about this place is how there’s literally usually no one there!

Service was good but not great, it took a little while to get some food out and they gave us some food that we didn’t order, which I actually didn’t mind because it was still super great.

Plus, there were plenty of drinks to choose from, but one thing I found out that there exists anime style drinks with likable anime characters from One Piece, Naruto/Naruto Shippuden, and Sailor Moon, though I wish they also added other iconic anime characters from other popular anime IPs that every anime fan loves, you know, the ones from Dragon Ball, Bleach, My Hero Academia, Yu-Gi-Oh!, Attack on Titan, Jujutsu Kaisen, Haikyuu!!, etc.; not to mention Hololive, the world’s virtual YouTuber agency, Vocaloid, Love Live!, maybe Pokemon, cute anime girls, and more should have their own drinks, even Star Wars (influenced by Akira Kurosawa’s films and Japanese culture which George Lucas said that Akira Kurosawa is his idol) deserve their own drinks in sushi stores, but a man can dream, yes? Anyway, we ordered the sushi while I had ramen, and I just couldn’t get enough of eating them as I smiled. It was great and I wish I could’ve tried it sooner rather than later. One thing that I forgot to see is that there’s also a bar you can sit on, but I’ll try that next time. In conclusion, the Tak E Sushi and Rolls restaurant is recommended for everyone. Not bad Japanese food and I want to come back again sometime. Though, I want to see the restaurant filled with people, though. “Hidden gem in Cypress. I am pretty picky when it comes to Sushi and this place is recommended. Specially their lunch box is amazing. Packaged very neatly and my 9pc salmon sushi lunch box comes with tempura,side dish, miso soup and even few sashimi! Love it. Current owners been here for 2yrs or so and they were very kind. And I am there for pick up for passing by I see regulars there so some already know what is good. They have lots of options so I am going try all of them. Inside is not big but very cozy which is perfect for casual dining. Glad I found this place !“

We got the special and regular omakase, and the special is absolutely worth the extra $20 because it comes with an amazing toro collar and tiramisu, along with more sushi, soup, and a carpaccio. “I have been going to Mamma's sushi for years. Before the Shabu Shabu next door. I have always enjoyed the food, service and the atmosphere. It seems like they get better in each category over the years. Recently, I have noticed that while other places have made Sushi almost unaffordable, Mamma's sushi saves the day with all their deals. Lunch specials, dinner specials it seems like they have something for every time slot of the day.

Savings! Savings and taste? It is now my favorite sushi spot. It does not hurt the bank and I love the customer service. They are busy often but I feel that they still manage to do an excellent job all around. Keep it up Mamma's and see you soon!“
