“We came here for lunch on a Sunday and waited for 45 mins before being seated. There were only two women working the front dining room and since service was slow, table turnovers were slow too. So expect a wait but the food was very good.

We like that they have pictures on their menus. We ordered the dan dan noodles, the chong qing noodles (my favorite), the pork chop noodle, youpo noodle, and xiao long bao. All were good and portions were large.

I do like the spicy mala flavors and that's in quite a lot of their dishes. Mild still has a kick to it, fyi.

The parking lot is too small for the restaurants in shopping area as is common in a lot of Asian areas. But there are plenty of free street parking around.“

If it's raining and you want some warm pho. This is the spot for you. Close to South Gate, Lynwood, Bell Gardens, Downey and Paramount. It has drive thru and a small mom and pop restaurant that should definitely be supported for the great food. Had Beef Pho and Shrimp Pho, with Creamy ragoons and Veggie Egg rolls topped off with Tai Tea. Yum!!! #TheSpot“

“A solid spot for comforting Taiwanese food. I ordered their Fujian style fried vermicelli, beef noodle soup, and pan fried pork baos — everything was beyond flavorful. Even the noodle texture surprised me by being quite “QQ” (al dente in Chinese). Also, the servers were beyond kind, constantly bringing me hot water and napkins! “This new location seems smaller than their previous spot. Doesn't seem they're fully set up yet as we got disposable bowls for rice and individual disposable cups for hot tea ($1.50 per person).

Food is still consistent though! Mushroom in brown sauce ($12.95), vege fish in brown sauce ($12.50), and tofu pumpkin hot pot ($12.95) are still good choices and they're all on the lunch special menu!

Surface level parking in the plaza gets congested very easily, so try the 2 levels of underground parking for more spots.“

“Thanks to my son in law we got to try a new spot. How Rowland Heights has changed since the 80’s. Just love the rich food scene. Be forewarned. Friday and Saturday nights the parking can be very challenging. Once seated service was quick. But here is how it works. You order your broth selection an some premium proteins online. The rest is pretty much self service from the various refrigerators. Seafood, beef tendon, beef with cilantro, gizzards, plenty of mushrooms, and veggies. You select what you want and take it back to your table and immerse in the broth. Feels very cafe style which I just enjoyed. Totally a find. I will be back.“

The highlight was definitely the handmade soup dumplings. The crab roe xiao long bao was juicy with plenty of soup, and I liked that they offer a non-sweet option. The larger crab roe soup dumpling was especially memorable—rich, savory, and very nostalgic, reminded me of ones I had growing up in Jiangsu.

We also tried the Wuxi-style pork ribs and crispy eel, both well done with classic flavors. Other dishes like the rice cakes and stir-fried greens were simple but satisfying.

Prime is $53. The soy sauce they use at the sauce station is more salty than the other soy sauces I've had. One of the staff, younger girl kept messing up with the soup base orders for our table and another table's. It wasn't even busy at that time. It's nice they do birthday discounts. Free drinks and ice cream so that's also a plus. Would be nice if they had strawberry ice cream instead of double cookies and cream rubs. They should add pork blood rice cakes. Parking in the back can be limited.“

“Had a quick early lunch here on a Tuesday, around 11am. No wait, tables were available. Ordered Pho Bac XL plus added tendons, and an Iced Coffee. Food came really fast. My bowl of Pho Bac came out piping hot, which is good. Extra tendons came in a separate bowl. The amount of food that came in XL size is more than adequate, I’m quite satisfied. The broth was just right, not too salty. The Iced Coffee complemented the meal well. Seating here tends to be on the tighter side. I was in and out within 35 minutes.“

Highly recommend you order in advance and do it through their preferred app, chowbus. I tried to call and also walked in but person working as a cook and handles the counter does not speak English.

I didn’t notice the QR codes placed on each table but fortunately had a nice English-speaking patron help me order. To streamline, I asked her to order the best sellers. The restaurant was completely out of cha siu so here’s what I ended up with:

Claypot with sausage and cured meat.
Claypot with Chicken, mushrooms, and spare ribs.
Two variations of the chicken soup with ginseng and emperors herbs.
And of course, a box of Portuguese Egg Tarts.
