“Hangang Korean Restaurant is a newer Korean spot in the SGV that focuses on classic comfort dishes in a warm and comfortable setting. The restaurant is tucked into a small plaza, so it is easy to miss while driving by.

The menu focuses on familiar Korean dishes, and the standout for me was the galbijjim. The short ribs were incredibly tender and cooked to the point where the meat easily came away, with a rich savory flavor. The sauce had a good balance without overpowering the natural flavor of the meat. The bibimbap was also a good dish, pretty standard that compares well to other places that also serve the dish.

The soups and lighter dishes also make the menu feel well rounded. The seafood pancake is another good addition, with a satisfying texture and enough flavor to stand on its own. The banchan were a nice part of the meal as well. The side dishes came out fresh and added variety throughout the meal, making the table feel more complete.

Service was friendly and attentive throughout the visit. The staff were helpful and made the experience feel comfortable, whether you were ordering a full spread or just stopping by for a specific dish. There is also plenty of parking compared to some other Korean food areas, which makes the visit more convenient.

Overall, Hangang is a solid addition to the SGV Korean food scene. The combination of comforting dishes, generous portions, quality meats, and a relaxed atmosphere makes it a place I would return to.“

Update: get the boiled fish with tofu and wood ear mushrooms. They’re very good.“

Truffle xiao long bao are so fragrant and yummy! Everything is always delicious. The sticky rice drinks are so good too! One of my fav toppings anywhere! Always a delicious meal.“

“Had lunch here today, hadn't been here in a while and it's still as delicious as it always was. Had my favorite dish here the chicken fried rice. I've also ordered it with shrimp before and it's just as amazing. “Tried Vege Valley Restaurant recently and honestly it was a good surprise. I’m not even strictly vegetarian but the food was really flavorful and fresh. Ordered noodles and a veggie dish both were well cooked and not too oily, which I liked.
The place is simple perfect for a relaxed meal. Service was quick and staff were polite. Pricing also feels reasonable for the portion size.
Only small issue was parking, took a bit of time to find a spot. But overall definitely worth visiting if you want healthy and tasty veg food.“

These plates were so full of color, every bite was bursting with fresh delicious goodness!! I didn’t want to put the fork down 🤣 OH and let me mention the fork!!! I’ve never seen a fork so perfectly curved and held each bite so well that it didn’t fall off 😂🫶🏼 that’s a winner for me! 🥰

“They were not joking when they called this comfort food. I was sick, and it was raining, so I wanted something warm and hearty. This place seemed like the obvious choice, and far exceeded my expectations. Food came out fast and blistering hot, but still perfect temperature to eat right away. It was somehow nostalgic, even though it was my first time trying this dish. The tofu was extremely soft, but held its shape well, and very flavorful from absorbing the liquid. It really felt like it cured by illness.

Portion size was also very generous, which is always important. The menu was also pretty varied, I could imagine coming back multiple times and trying something new each time.“

“Jin Hai / Beijing Pie House has gotten better over the years. The lamb and leeek meat pies arrived nice and crispy with ample soup inside. The lamb flavor was subtle and clean with a satisfying smattering of yellow leek.

The three ingredient dumplings (leek, pork, shrimp) were supple and balanced. The thick looking wrappers were deceptively supple with a bit of bite and flavor of the fillings sang a song of freshness.

Glad we came back and will put this back in our rotation.“

Definitely one of the best Vietnamese home cooked meals at a restaurant in the area. The flavour is so authentic that can transport you back to the Southern of Vietnam (mien Tay) in a bite. We ordered the lunch set for family and cannot fault a thing. It came with canh chua, ca chien, goi tom thit, ca kho, bap cai chua. Flavour was mouth watering and all very good value for money. This is such a hidden gem. Highly recommend!“

“I was trying to take the godfather to the Vietnam kitchen down the street but they were closing up at 8:00 (!) and they told us that we could only get to go. Well. We wanted to talk and eat at a table. So we had both noticed this place on the way to VK . A very low-key restaurant with some high-grade beef noodle soup. Very tasty and there's a whole homemade feeling about the place which is very charming to me. A solid cucumber appetizer, the Szechuan vegetables were weirdly a little bland, or at least not as spicy or a sour as I was expecting. However, the Price is Right, the service is outstanding with it being what feels like a true mom-and-pop joint ( Bobby is the chef, and I suspect he's the pop, and looks much younger than his age), and I really like the fact that the menu was very simple. Even so I was tempted by other things on the menu, including the chicken curry, but they were out of chicken so I'll have to come back for that. Still I went with a specialty and I've been going to a lot of beef noodle soup places so I feel pretty strongly to judge that the broth was excellent. The vegetables were fresh and the meat was very good, if not as much as I wanted there to be. Overall the experience was outstanding and they were extremely hospitable, especially when we paid at 845 and I asked if they closed at 9:00 and they told us. They had closed 45 minutes earlier yet had hung around and gave no indication that we were to do anything, but enjoy our food. Very genteel and civilized. Thank you!“

Parking can be a headache during peak hours. Restaurant being on Garvey doesn't make the trip to this place any easier, but it can be worth it.“

The restaurant is conveniently located at the corner of Garfield and Valley Blvd, and there were plenty of parking spaces available in the lot. We tried the preserved duck and salted fish clay pot rice. While the overall flavor was on point, the preserved duck and salted fish just weren't to my personal taste. However, we absolutely loved the lotus leaf steamed rice with chicken, mushroom, and minced pork! We also opted for the $5 soup add-on; it was loaded with plenty of ingredients, though it arrived a bit bland, so we had to add some salt. To finish the meal, the Portuguese egg tarts were absolutely delicious!
Service here is minimal, as you order via a QR code at the table and pay at the cashier once you finish your meal. Overall, a solid spot with some great highlights.“
