“I've eaten their bread and croutons many times, but this is my first visit to the bakery. The public area in the front is rather small. If you're still COVID paranoid, this isn't a good spot. The people working were very nice and helpful. I asked for the sourest bread they had. I thought it was the rustic sour, but no, they recommended the sourdough batard. Bread was excellent, but still not sour enough for me. Then again, nobody makes sourdough sour enough for me.“

I came in right before 9:00am on a Tuesday and was able to get three slabs of the pizza focaccia ($9 each), which is what my colleague who grew up in North Beach recommended, to bring to the office. It was easily one of the best focaccia I've ever had! No wonder they typically sell out well before they close for the day. I'll definitely be back to try the other kinds. Note: they're cash only.“

“When we sat down outside, with the blue hour sun hanging low across the city, the tray of gluttony and sugars sat so perfectly on our tray. Then a group of Patagonia-clad men stumbled in saying “with OpenAI” and I was reminded that we’re in San Francisco. The crookie was good, albeit not crispy. While the coffee vanilla mousse looked amazing on the outside, it was a tad too sweet. However, the highlight for me was the Imperial; paired with an iced cold brew, the decadent layers filled with a crumbly bottom and a sweet white filling inside was my favourite.Pretty good!“

“I finally got to try Bake Sum! The bakery was a lot smaller than I thought it would be. Because of the small standing room, it was sort of hard to tell who was waiting on their order and who was still in line. They also offer few gift items along the wall, including Taiwanese chocolates, matcha powder, greeting cards, and cute shopping bags just to name a few that I saw. There is no seating, but luckily Lake Merritt is close by, and the perfect spot for a picnic. On a Saturday you might also finding seat at the Farmer's Market a block away. We tried the jasmine milk bun, pandan milk bun, ube cookie, and a coffee. It was around 11:30am on a Saturday and they were already low on inventory (when I got to the front I hear them say they JUST ran out of sesame cookies and I ordered one of the last jasmine milk buns). Of everything I tried I liked the jasmine milk bun the most, it was quite fragrant (just the way I like my jasmine flavored things)! These milk buns reminded me of my favorite melon milk buns that I had in Japan. I have no idea if they make them here...but that would be a dream to have that right here in the neighborhood! I will definitely plan on coming earlier next time so I have more of a selection to choose from.“

“Arsicault did not steal his prize for best croissant USA. All the pastries are good without exception, the baguette is also one of the best in San Francisco. So if you are French, you can certainly think that there is better in France, of course... but clearly not in SF. Yes it's a bit expensive but those are the prices. I was sold croissants for $1 cheaper but frankly not good. I'm not giving it 5 stars because I still don't understand why there are no more baguettes at 10:30 a.m. on the weekend, no new batches coming (according to the sellers). When we close at 3 p.m., do we try to have stock at least until 1 p.m.? Finally, it seems to me? It's a shame that you can't order in advance and pick up the next day. That would be great.“

You can tell the oil they get made in is also very fresh, no after taste of old oil. Donuts are not super greasy. The service is magnificent! The first time coming here the woman was extremely helpful and kind. The second time a young man helped us and he had a great personality and energy. He was telling us some of the stories of the donut place. Really enjoyed his service! The ambiance is an old school donut shop with closed off seating area but looks very vintage. “I still give this place five stars for their gluten free baked goods and take home lasagna but overall four stars because their service still sucks most of the time. I went by here recently on a Sunday morning before a meeting to grab something hot to eat. I love their hot pockets. However, it was 9:30 am. A number of people around me and I started to form a line. Some people asked the staff questions about the pastries and they answered while putting stuff out. None of the staff thought to tell us that they didn't open until 10 am on Sundays. After about 5 minutes of being ignored, I saw the small sign for their hours. I pointed it out to others and we all left. That was a horrible experience as I was hungry and now didn't have time to get something else before my meeting. On Pi Day, I came by and was pleased they had a number of pies available in different sizes. I picked up a small Chocolate Pie that was low in sugar and a small Cherry Pie. They were the perfect size for the three of us though they could have fed more people. We didn't finish the pies ourselves. The Chocolate Pie was yummy and perfect for me but my husband said it wasn't sweet enough for him. We all loved the Cherry Pie! We went back recently and picked up their pizza dough. It came with two rounds. They were awesome!!! We put on our own toppings and popped them into the oven. They came out delicious. I love their food. I just wish the service was better.“

I got an egg yolk custard tart, an egg white custard tart, and a pineapple bun. The egg custard tarts were good, though the crust was more like shortbread and not very flaky which I prefer. The egg white custard tarts were interesting, though I did not like them as much as the traditional egg yolk ones which I found to have a stronger flavor. The pineapple bun was good, but nothing special. I will likely be back to try some of their other items.“

The cake was absolutely delicious--everyone at the party raved about how it was moist with the perfect level of sweetness.Doodlecakes was very communicative about the delivery as well! I was texted about any delays, and called to ensure the cake made it to me safely after I asked a housemate to receive it for me.All in all, it was easy and a pleasure to work with Doodlecakes on a custom order. “This place is a must when visiting San Fran. I do my research before going on a trip and this place was recommended by a few people. I know that you often hear more about the Golden Gate Bakery but there was a long line and I was not going to wait to try their egg tart. I'm glad I didn't sit in that line. We grabbed a few items to go and of course we tried their egg tart. It was warm and crispy. We also order some gelatin looking pastries, matcha cake, and sweet bread. Everything was great.“

“A much-needed eatery in SOMA! With the loss of Cafe Centro, Cafe Buenos Aires is a wonderful addition to the South Park area. This affordable lunch spot is perfect for office workers in the area. Two empanadas are about $10-$15. Plus, the restaurant itself is very walkable--3 minutes from South Park, 6 minutes from Oracle Park, and 8 minutes from the Cal Train Station. Although there is a good amount of indoor seating, I would recommend ordering to-go and eating at South Park. The empanadas taste great with some good selections. They also offer coffee and other Argentinian treats.“

“Best bakery in Berkeley. They are so underrated and I wish more people know about their great food. I’m obsessed with their focaccia breads (marinara is out of the world), their pizzas are personally my favourite in berkeley and the chocolate croissant is to die for. I visit them atleast thrice a week. Encourage everyone to try this small business.“

“I like the pastries here but I usually come Sunday morning and they are either late to open - or not open it seems today. Also the pastries are extremely limited and seem left over at that time. I mean just close Sunday I guess. I doubt I'm coming back again that time.“

“My 8 year daughter and I were referred here from a social worker at Oakland Children's Hospital. My daughter was diagnosed with Celiac 8months ago. To say she was absolutely pleased with their selections and overall delicious subs is an understatement. She said "Mom if my belly could dance, it would definitely be dancing " Needless to say we are very pleased and would recommend 1000%. We hope to visit again soon when we are in the area. In the meantime I will be ordering online. Thank You for absolute amazing Gluten Free options!!!!“

“My birthday cake came from here this year, and it was magical. It had a passion fruit puree, and the sweet, tangy, acidity balanced perfectly with the rich flavors and delicious frosting of the rest of the cake. It was intricate, delicious, and I've never wanted leftover cake more in my life. Sadly, only one slice survived the night, many people went for seconds. Also, the bread is fantastic. A delicious herb focaccia with a soft interior (perfect with Kerrygold butter), nice crust with sea salt. Ridiculously good bread. Also got a brioche cinnamon roll today, cinnabon can eat their heart out. The owner was super nice too, and I can't wait to try more of her creations. They're not open M-W, so make sure you get in over there weekend , or you'll be waiting till Thursday.“

“I've had the good fortune of bringing Acme treats to a few social gatherings this past week. Top notch service & baked goods each & every time. The two fellas at the front counter really hustle to keep that ever-present line moving briskly. But where is the tip jar for these magicians?!! Surely Acme could do this for their dedicated pros, and we customers are so accustomed to seeing one, it feels awkward to note its absence. [btw- the Acme pizza slab cut into bite sized pieces is a real crowd pleaser for happy hour occassions ] Word to the wise: everything available and barely a line between 8-830am. Now about that tip jar: hope to see it on my next visit!“

“Τoscano Brothers has probably surpassed Daily Driver as the best bagel bakers in San Francisco. All their bagels are boiled but Tony Gemigniani puts his own Italian twist to the recipe and the result is an eye-opening, fresh and very chewy bagel with perfect texture. All their pastries and sandwiches are what you would expect: elevated and decadent. Kudos to their Detroit style pizza; perfectly made with a nutty, cheesy artisan crust topped with high-end mozzarella. This pie is better than anything I've had in Detroit that's for sure.Love this place, A+++“
