“Absolutely loved this Pho place! The broth was super flavorful and rich, and the noodles were perfectly cooked. The portions are generous, and the meat was really tender. The atmosphere is cozy and the staff are friendly and welcoming. Definitely one of the best Pho spots I’ve tried — highly recommend it! 🍜🔥“

“As a Vietnamese San Diego local, Ngon Ngon to go is the best Vietnamese spot in San Diego. Ngon Ngon to go offers the most authentic dishes such as Cha Ca, Bo Luc Lac, Bun, Com Chien, Bun Cha, and Banh Mi. The restaurant is located at the back of the Vinh Hung supermarket and the service is on par.“

“Their food is good and prices are decent, I have been here 3-5 times and always get a spring roll with pork and shrimp one time it had a big hair rolled in the middle they immediately remade it, honestly I am still pretty grossed out, they need to be more careful when making their food.“

“Its pho is one of best pho I enjoyed in SD. Its soup is light but has deep flavor. Even for a regular size, the portion was huge. Its popcorn chicken appetizer was good too (agree with other reviews).
P.S. Parking can be a bit tight during peak hours.“

“This place was so good, it’s up there now as one of my favorite pho’s. I got the chicken pho, the chicken pieces in there were perfect without any fat or hard grizzly bits. Their broth has really good flavor, seasoned well. I also tried their chicken banh mi and the bread was perfect, the chicken was seasoned well and it was overall very satisfying.“

“This is our favorite new neighborhood restaurant. Max was helpful with recommending the chicken wings as a starter. The Rib Eye Pho and Rib Bone Pho were amazing. We’ve also enjoyed the calamari on a previous visit. Abi was helpful in keeping our drinks replenished. All the staff create a welcoming and comfortable atmosphere, which will keep us coming back for years to come.“

“The banh mi sandwiches are always wonderful and a dollar or two more than a McDonalds burger. Grilled pork and pork belly sandwiches are all I’ve ever had here (in 20 visits). Some day I’ll branch out 😀“
“I normally drink 200mg of coffee or more a day and feel nothing. I was wired and shaky from the normal Vietnamese coffee in not a great way. Even at night I’m feeling it. It’s really delicious just be careful. How much caffeine is in this? Genuinely curious haha“

“BEST HIDDEN GEM EVER!! Our server (forgot his name) was so chill and awesome to talk to! The pho was immaculate and the Thai tea was so delicious, it brought me back to memory lane! The vibe here is so chill and I love the atmosphere of it! 11/10 for those needing something healthy and tasty late at night! Will come visit again for more! 😋“

“Amazing nem nuong (pork sausage) rolls! Got three rolls that came with a yummy peanut sauce dip and a pho delivered through Door Dash and everything was packed super thoughtfully. All I had to do was pour the broth into the noodle bowl and agitate it a little with the chopstick to get the noodles unstuck, which it did very easily. The amount of broth was exactly perfect for the noodle bowl.“

“Ordered 4 dishes for takeout. The heavenly papaya salad, garlic chicken bowl, fried shrimp noodle bowl, and the pho fried noodle. Didn’t care much for the papaya salad. The dressing seems to be missing something. Taste diluted. The chicken bowl was good and flavorful. The shrimp noodle bowl was good but wish they give more shrimp. There was only two shrimp. The fried pho noodle was oily and the noodle was hard. No taste at all but just oily. I do wish they have more options tho. And the portion was pretty small and pricy.“

“Le Bambou is one of my favorite restaraunts in all of San Diego and is very affordable! My favorite dishes are Shaken Beef and Star of the Sea in Tamarind Sauce with a side of rice. Each time I’ve gone, their food never disappoints and their flavors amaze me each time and has a wow factor! The Shaken Beef is always so juicy and never dry with great flavor. The Star of the Sea in Tamarind Sauce has a perfect balance of tamarind in its sauce. It’s subtle and blends in the perfect amount. The imperial rolls in the Vermicelli with Pork and Shrimp dish are some of the best egg rolls I’ve ever tried and their pho is also very tasty. It’s a small, family-owned business and the owners seem very sweet and give great recommendations. The prices are very reasonable and their portion sizes have just the right amount and I feel full. The restaurant has a romantic vibe but also a casual vibe at the same time. So if you feel like going on a date or going in casual with friends, family, or kids, it’s a great place to go! 10/10 recommend!“

“This is a good place. I came in on Friday and ordered the shrimp pho as I’m Catholic. But all of my buddies food look delicious.
I would prefer they take the tails off the shrimp but some people like the flavor those bring to you food I assume.
Overall good place for random work lunch, or by passer. The menu is simple and rich.“

“It has only Pho menus, no other side dishes. When you order the menu, it comes out real fast. Fresh broth, tasty pho, fresh basil. Price is very reasonable. We ordered Pho no. 1(X L bowl), it was $14.00. If you use a credit card, they charge a processing fee, so we paid cash.
This is one of my favorite Pho restaurants in San Diego.
The only down part is communication; the servers seem to not understand English well, so if you ask something, there is big chances they bring some other things or miss.
*We were with my service dog in a stroller, they welcomed.“

“Came here for lunch on a Sunday.
The atmosphere is super welcoming and the staff is very friendly, the food is very good and priced well. A lot of different menu offerings, I got the filet mignon pho and a lychee tea.
There are a few other items that caught my eye. The tables around me got a variety of different foods and everything looked very appetizing. The portion size is great. I recommend this place for sure. Ample parking, right down the street from main area of PB“

“Loved my impromptu dine-in experience! I was waiting for my car to be fixed and found Pho Ha Noi on Google since it was a short walk away. The dine-in experience is basic & straight forward - you order at the counter and they bring the food to you when it’s ready.
I tried the grilled shrimp vermicelli noodle bowl and an iced Vietnamese coffee to-go. The server was very friendly & efficient and the food was delicious! I loved the pickled vegetables, the veggies were fresh, and the shrimp was sautéed with perfectly crisp/golden garlic & onions. I would definitely eat here again since I’d like to try a tofu dish 😊“

“Excellent banh mi, but so much more: incredible, stoked fusion food. Bahn Mi tacos, fries, breakfast burritos and crazy, fantastic salt and pepper wings. Anything you grew up with had a San Diego taco shop, but with Vietnamese spin and great service. You can't go wrong here.“

“You guys, this place has THE BEST food for THE BEST prices. Plus, Thuy is like your auntie away from home. She takes the most amazing care of everyone who comes in, I love being a regular here. I’ve had the pork and chicken bank sandwiches, egg rolls, fresh rolls, and pork and chicken wonton soup. Everything is delicious and generously portioned. And the Vietnamese coffee! YUM, can’t wait to be back. :)“

“I just had the most unbelievable customer service here. It was so good that it blew my mind! Like, for real!! It turned out the barista today is Strawbaby by Destinee who bakes some of the baked goods sold here as well. She apparently runs all kinds of adult and kid events, and I will be checking out her business too! I'm so glad I randomly walked in today! 🧋“

“For being 80 miles from Bolsa, this place is super authentic coming from a GG Viet born and raised. The banh xeo stayed impossibly crispy, the banh beo is on point, and the cha ca thang lon could feed 3 and was very good. Service was polite and expedient.“

“I was craving pho and I found this restaurant on a Sunday afternoon. Many of the reviews raved about the Pho Filet so I had to try it out. Who doesn't love filet mignon? The broth was tasty and the meat was good. The bowl was a bit smaller as you can see on the length of the standard napkin in the picture.
Service was decent, but who goes to a pho place for service? The restaurant is a bit smaller, but I went at a time when it was not as busy. I would come back and try the other menu items when I am back in the area!“

“Food “Neophobia,” is the fear of trying new or unfamiliar foods. Get out of the way and let your tastebuds try something new. Come on “live a little, taste a little.”
At Phó La Jolla, I have eaten so many appetizing dishes. From Phò, Vermicelli Noodles, Bán Mì Sandwiches, to the array of their appetizers like Spring Rolls, Crispy Salt and Pepper Wings, or Steaming BBQ Pork Buns. Not to mention their New Cajun Seafood Boil Menu, where you choose the flavor and the level of heat. Just remember, you “feast” by the pound so bring your appetite. My mouth is watering as I am leaving this review.
So, when “Tammy” the owner of Phó La Jolla mentioned the new dish “Bún Riêu,” I was eager with anticipation.
“Bún Riêu” is a Vietnamese noodle soup, with a vibrant red-orange color from the tomatoes and crab paste, it’s aromatic and savory. Served w/ Vermicelli noodles and substantial amounts of Shrimp, Chicken and Tofu. Mmm…, it was delectable, a taste so unique and different.
I asked Tammy what influenced her dishes, and she said “a replication of her mothers’ taste and her own innovation.”
Take it from a “foodie,” @ Phò La Jolla, where every flavor tells a story.“
