“I had ordered a meal to go for my lunch break and realized I had more time and that I could sit down. I asked if I could and the servers/owner said yes yes,and bought me a plate and helped me pour my food in a plate rather than eating out of the to go box. I thought it was very sweet! I was very grateful she helped me feel not rushed to eat my food. And she was right it taste a lot better in a plate than a to go box’s“

“I have eaten Vietnamese cuisine throughout California, and Grandpa Tao ranks among the best. In addition to the amazing tastes, the casual restaurant is friendly and comfortable. Ingredients are fresh, the environment clean and relaxing. I particularly recommend the Pho, the Rice Vermicelli (try it!) and the Shaking beef. You'll like it.“

“Food is good. They have 75 page menu, definitley can get lost in it. The cost on the Google serach is misleading. Most, if not all of the starters are > $20. The main course is also upwards of $25, some in the mid 30's. Portion sizes can be little more generous as the cost is high (IMO). The restaurant does provide complimentary dessert (not sure if they offer it to all the customers) our 1st time to the restaurant.“

Very clean bathrooms and restaurant. Used to go to a different Pho in Santee but they reduced the menu and got rid of the food we liked, so this will be our new go to Pho, great everything.“

“First time visiting, and it was a great experience! We stopped by on a Monday around 4 PM. The first thing I noticed was how clean the restaurant was and the outstanding customer service. As soon as we walked in, we were warmly greeted and seated right away, and our food arrived shortly after.

The food was delicious! The shrimp and meatballs pho was flavorful, veggie eggrolls were freshly fried & hot and the Asian Sweet Wings were definitely a highlight. I requested my fries to be extra crispy, but they weren’t quite as crunchy as I had hoped. Even so, the exceptional customer service more than made up for it.

Overall, we had a great experience, and I’d definitely recommend giving this place a try!“

“It's probably the bedt Pho you will find in San Diego. Tried a lot of places, but this places broth tastes clean and refreshing. Especially when other places may make you feel kind of heavy. The price is also really good as well.

Also, the last thing I will bring up are the host, they always find a way to make you feel comfortable while waiting for your food.“

“Had their egg rolls with the rice paper a year ago from a co-worker who brought a tray in to work. Haven't stopped thinking about it.

But somehow, it wasn't as good as I remembered it. Still good but a little too dry and too salty.
Bahn mi was great.

Not much of a seating area so beware if you plan on eating in.

“The pho is really good here. It comes out piping hot and the broth is rich and beefy. The amount of noodles you get use to be adequate but seems less so as of late. The only big problem about this place is the limited parking. Their lot in the back only fit about 3-4 cars while the front shared space only has room for maybe 5. Don't even try to park in other property lots such as the liquor store. The owner watches the camera like a hawk and will not hesitate to call the tow truck.“

“Authentic Vietnamese place serving only 4 dishes. But if you like made to order banh cuon (steamed rice rolls), cha lua (steamed pork loaf), or best of all, gio chien (fried pork paste), you really won’t be disappointed. These simple items are much better than what’s available elsewhere because of the ingredients and because of their freshness. Yum!

Note: You can reheat the fried pork paste in an air fryer at home and it still tastes good, but when it just comes out, the smell of it is so irresistible!“

“Absolutely the most of the most! The veggies are abundant fresh and crispy. the pork is tender and flavorful and the tiny rice noodles are hot and well cooked. they serve it with large lettuce leaves that you wrap all the goodies up as a Vietnamese burrito. and dip it into a flavorful sauce called fish sauce but it is not fishy and does not taste like fish. Tops! Every dish is tops. and the soups are also fun to try. A fun meal pretty much describes the Saigon Restaurant. Thank you, Victor. He's the top cheese there. I'm so happy this restaurant survived the pandemic.“

“This has to be my 20th time here and each time it’s always been good .. the girl up front does have a natural RBF but her behavior towards me has an always been kind. I alway get the pho fillet or pho tai.

I understand it’s always 50/50 .. but we can’t always except to be treated like a five star customer ..that’s not possible ..“

“We tried this restaurant two nights ago, for the first time. I called and placed an order, it was ready in like 15 minutes for pick up. Brought it home and devoured every bite! We got the BBQ Pork rice plate, BBQ Chicken rice plate, steak Pho, and egg rolls. It was enough for my husband, two of my children, and myself. It was absolutely delicious!“

“Went to dinner with family last night and had amazing experience. We ordered the spring rolls, lemonade, Vietnamese coffee, chicken pho for our kiddo and rare/well done steak for ourselves. Portions are huge, pho is incredibly flavorful, and to this day they serve the best Vietnamese coffee I have tried from any Pho restaurant in SD (and I have tried many)!!! Restaurant was busy (you know it's good when the restaurant be crowded), but they served us fairly quickly and staff were very sweet. “I really love their coffee and their bahn mi it’s actually delicious I love the biscoff butter iced coffee but I asked for light ice and they said they would have to give me less drink. I mean really? I just don’t want too much ice because either way usually we’ll be getting more ice than drink so I asked to get light ice and the cup wasn’t even full to the top, it’s fine I paid 6 dollars for it but it’s annoying. “Easily the best pho I’ve had. I ordered #17 takeout, service seemed very efficient and fast. It’s very rundown on the outside but the inside is very clean. For $12.90 I got a bowl with noodles, brisket and raw steak, a huge bag of fresh herbs and bean sprouts and sauces and lime, and a large container of broth. The brisket was falling apart and succulent, the steak was fresh and very tender, the broth was aromatic. Overall extremely fresh and authentic pho with huge portions for a great price. If I lived close by I’d be here every day.“

“I picked up a birthday cake from this shop last weekend and was pretty happy with how everything turned out. The cake looked just like the design I asked for, and the flavor was fresh without being overly sweet. Everyone at the party had something nice to say about it, which doesn't happen very often. The staff was friendly and answered my questions without rushing me. Pickup was easy and the order was ready on time. Prices seemed fair for the quality. “We’ve eaten here a couple of times and always enjoy the pho. They have a vegetarian broth available and vegetarian proteins like faux chicken and shrimp, which cannot be said for many of the Vietnamese restaurants in our neighborhood. And it’s a really good broth, surprising flavorful and light on the salt.

The other thing we love to order here is the fruit slushies and boba. The fruit slushies, in particular, are out of this world. I would recommend the strawberry.

My only complaint is that they don’t always read/follow the instructions I write in when ordering online. Tonight, for example, I ordered the vegetarian pho with tofu and asked for it without the cilantro garnish and, still, my soup was decorated with cilantro leafs.“
