“Rustic Bakery gets pretty busy during farmer's market days. Luckily we found seats outside by the bike rack. It is the type of restaurant where you order at the counter and they give you a number to put on your table. We ordered a couple of sandwiches, a Caesar salad and some pastries. Everything tasted OK. Nothing stood out as extraordinary.“

“Food was good. Onion soup- I gotta say was delicious. Flavorful broth, chunky onions with a piece of bread/cheese broiled on top. Ordered steak frites. Steak was cooked perfectly. Frites were under seasoned and didn't have the herbs as described. Hericot green beans were also cooked perfectly. Apple crisp dessert was delicious, not too sweet. Stephanie (Manager) was super friendly. The only thing they can work on is their service. We were seated and waited for about 10 min before our orders were taken, while a couple seated after us were attended too almost immediately. Another couple was told it would be about 10 min before a table opened up, a couple came in and were seated at the open table meant for the previous couple. 🤦‍♂️“

“The lady that owns the shop is so sweet and her service was amazing! The pineapple buns were still warm and very fresh. There’s also a huge variety of moon cakes to choose from! You can tell she takes pride in her business and everything is made with love.“

“I am Italian. We passed by here by chance in 2017 and apparently 8 years later we are still talking about it. A dive into the past and a focaccia to remember; a bit on the soft side compared to the way we have them where I am from. Packed with care.“

“Came on a Sunday around 10 am and waited in line for around 15 minutes to order. The interior is super cute but very limited seating so we had to wait a while for seats to open up.

Maison Nico had an amazing selection of pastries but my friend and I decided to get some classic ones- a plain croissant and a brioche slice. We both loved how airy and light the croissant was and the brioche slice was also amazing- it had a perfect sugar glaze and was super crisp on the outside yet light and airy on the inside. Both paired well with the lattes that we got!“

“Cannoli was pretty good. Definitely not bad but not the best either but well priced for $6. Cavelli's has a better tasting filling for my taste and all around better at $9-$10 and is a bigger shell. But definitely a decent cannoli here at Victoria.“

“I was walking around the neighborhood looking for a light breakfast; so grateful I came upon this cafe. The outdoor only seating was perfect for this beautiful sunny day. They had many pastries that I was not familiar with and host was so kind to talk me through them. So I got enjoy the sunshine, great customer service, new treats to enjoy!“

“蛋撻 I tried their egg tarts and overall had a good experience. Both the yellow egg tart and the white fresh milk egg tart have a very nice egg flavor. They are not overly sweet, which I really appreciate—the sweetness level is just right and well balanced.

The filling is smooth and flavorful, and you can tell good ingredients are used. However, the crust is where it falls slightly short for me. The pastry is more like a combined or pressed flaky crust, rather than the traditional old-style egg tart crust with very distinct, visible layers. It’s still pleasant, just not as crisp and layered as a classic version.

Taking everything together, I would give it about a 7.5 out of 10. If the crust could be improved to have that classic, multi-layered flaky texture, these egg tarts would be close to perfect. That said, they are still very enjoyable, and I would recommend trying them if you like egg tarts that are flavorful and not too sweet.“

“Based on the rating I wasn't expecting much, but after two months of going dairy free, these pastries more than hit the spot. It's not that easy to find this many pastry options in one place, with so many details on dietary restrictions. The berry muffin looked a little flat but it was moist and full of berries - delicious, the apple turn over had a good crust and filling, the pop tart was a little too sweet for me with the glaze but also good crust and filling. I bought the day old, 25% off items and they all still tasted great. I'm a fan and this was a 5/5 for me. Staff were nice and patient with all the questions. Thank you Mariposa!“

“A piece of old San Francisco on one of the busiest blocks in North Beach. Charming decor right out of the 50’s. Excellent bread with the perfect crunch and the mortadellla sandwich is huge and delicious, as well as their homemade biscotti - great with a single espresso! Of course I had to try the bagels (says the NJ in me). OMG good and perfectly priced. Enjoying a little picnic of everything I bought - so good!“

“I visited MV Baking Company after seeing great reviews and being in the area. The display featured a variety of tempting baked goods. I particularly enjoyed the lemon kouign amann, beignets filled with raspberry jam, cinnamon roll, pear croissant, and spinach and cheese croissant. I plan to try more items on my next visit. Although it's a small place, the quality of the baked goods reflects the baker's passion. If you intend to visit, it's best to go early; I arrived at 10 am on a Saturday and found many items are almost sold out.“

The London Fog was also perfectly balanced, not too sweet with the earl grey coming through nicely. Also kudos to the baker for the perfect rings on the croissant! “What a cute little bakery! I came here by chance after an event at the bookstore on the corner, and I'm really glad I did. Other bakeries are pretty chaotic, loud, and intimidating. This one is very chill and calm. The auntie at the counter patiently takes your order, I can't say that for all Chinatown bakeries! I got a green onion bun, a bo-lo bao (called a pineapple bun, because it looks like a pineapple), a cha siu bolo bao, a ham and cheese bao. All were really light and fluffy. My favorite was the cha siu bolo bao! But, also the mango mochi, that were on the counter, those were really really good and my family finished those in minutes. Highly recommend making the trip down Wavery to find i-Cafe!“

“It's normal to automatically want to try out something, once you see that people line up outside a specific place.
Same thing happened to us, with me waiting in line for 30 minutes to get the moon cakes and egg tarts.
Not going to lie, the freshness of the products is out of this world, since they take your order and start baking them at that exact moment, hence the long wait.
Honestly, though, I was good with trying them out once; I wouldn't wait in line for the same pastries again. They weren't bad, but they didn't make me want to go back for more.
If you want to try the moon cakes, I would suggest the pineapple flavor. It was the best one out of everything, for me.“

“Good Asian fusion bakery in the “heart” of Chinatown San Francisco. We were able to get some nice matcha flavored baked goods at a very good price. The baked goods were delicious. Service was great from the clerks and efficient. They answered all of our questions with a smile. I did notice that the clerks spoke a Mandarine, unlike the olden days when Cantonese was the main dialect in Chinatown San Francisco.“
