“You can't top Dj's Chinese Cuisine in Larkspur. The lunch specials are indeed a good value for a Marin restaurant, and I'm all about disorganization. Plus, Joanne's been serving up plates and sass as the resident waitress mama for decades. She's like Flo from the 1970s sitcom Alice, minus the English - or rather, she's saying it all in Chinese. Funny, tough exterior, gem of a person once you get to know her.“

Nice to have this excellent option in downtown Mill Valley. There’s a printed menu that has the vegan and vegetarian items marked, but the electronic kiosk does not! “California-style Cantonese cuisine! I really like the decoration style here, which always makes me feel better when dining here. The golden lotus chandelier and the gold and silver wire lamp are definitely the best decoration! 👍The pastries here are also worth mentioning! Pineapple buns, wife cakes, black sesame banana cakes with miso sugar!“

“Good portions and a clean interior. It was pretty empty around 5:30 but started filling up by 6:30. Hospitality could use some work. No one greeted us when we walked in, so we waited about 5 minutes to be seated despite it being fairly empty. Once the food arrived, we were seated in a corner and had trouble flagging down a server for the check. The staff should be more attentive and check in more regularly but food was good“

“I was walking by and saw the large boba tea sign and decided to check out the place. I tried the Mango Pamelo Sago with 25% sweet and it was delicious. Friendly and helpful people too .

“Bring cash! Self-seating, so bring someone to save your spot or grab the bar seating against the wall. Order at the counter, your number gets called. Condiments are up front except Sriracha which is at every table.

Came on a Tuesday for a late lunch and it was still packed — clearly social media is driving a lot of tourists here for the rice rolls. Got the Rice Roll Express Roll out of curiosity but wished I'd gone with the Shrimp Feast instead. Not bad, just not my favorite. Also wasn't asked about my optional topping and ended up with cabbage by default, so speak up when ordering.

Would come back to try the Shrimp Feast.“

“We just finished a delicious meal… we had a plate of “Combination Fried Rice, General Tso’s Chicken, Sesame Chicken, Orange Chicken, and Pork Pot Stickers” and everything was very tasty. I must apologize for the pictures showing our half eaten food but it looked so good I forgot to take pictures before we started eating.“

“I am very delightful to have found a Chinese cuisine nearby Marina neighbourhood! The atmosphere was very homey and staff were really warm and welcoming!

Food was so good! I especially love the sweet and sour fish. Quite crunchy on the outside but very tender and flavourful on the inside. My daughter who is not a fan of fish can't get enough of it!

The price of each meal was affordable and the food portion was generous. Also a lot of varieties you can choose from.

“Nan hot pot is one of my favourite place for hotpot in SF area. The This place provides various kinds of meat and vegetables and some small dishes. Seafood here taste fresh, i like the prawn with shells. American kobe beef toro is tender and delicious. The staff was very friendly, attentive, and welcoming during our visit.“

We ordered several dishes — a spicy noodle broth loaded with bean sprouts, scallions and chili oil that had real depth; a wonton noodle soup with generously filled dumplings in a clean broth; a sautéed offal dish with red onion and chili that was bold and well-seasoned; and what appeared to be a hot & sour soup with good body. Everything came out hot and fresh. The menu is trilingual (Chinese/English/Vietnamese) with a wide variety at reasonable prices. “I think this is one of the best Chinese BBQ spots in Chinatown. The char siu tastes just like the kind I had in Guangdong, it has that classic Cantonese BBQ flavor. The portions are also very generous, especially the amount of meat they give you.“

“A popular local spot in Chinatown. This place is always packed, you will have to share tables with other people, and almost everyone here speak Chinese, so I think this place is authentic enough. The menu is very very affordable, each noodle soup item costs less than $10, and the most expensive shareable side order only costs $20. This is a steal in San Francisco.
We tried almost every signature dish, like beef brisket, curry fish balls, wonton and steamed pork & liver. Food portion were huge, you have to come here hungry.
My most favorite? Probably wonton and beef brisket. I think it's best to order wonton noodle soup (to get the light & sweet broth) and brisket dry noodles, because beef brisket itself is a bit fat and greasy, so you need something light to pair with it.
Overall, 9/10. Just remember to bring some cash with you when dining here.“

“Authentic hong kong cafe food in an unassuming spot. We ordered Bitter Melon with Fish Fillet over Rice and Mushroom and Chicken Rice in claypot and both are good. They are cash only with great value to price.

Some of the tea cups/bowls they gave us were not properly cleaned, so check before use.“

However, I ordered delicious food and enjoyed it when I got home.
I was grateful that the friendly staff told me about nearby parks where I could eat and explained things well.
There is also a parking lot, so park comfortably.“

“I've been going to this place for my lunch for the past 3 and 1/2 years whenever I'm in the area definitely stop by here The customer service is good food is delicious and always hot but one thing I will say is if you want this for a good lunch definitely want to come before noon and after about 1:00 or 2:00 otherwise there is quite a line the Kung Pao chicken is the best. During the week can't speak for the weekend but definitely worth trying The only other place that comes close is lams kitchen in Mill valley“

The trek up a long flight of stairs leads to a rickety patio that feels exactly like an apartment fire escape overlooking an alley.Skip the alcoholic drinks (thankfully they were weak, given the stairs!), but absolutely stay for the food. The dishes completely make up for the sketchy atmosphere. The calamari was the absolute standout, and they even treated us to free green tea ice cream. Our waiter was fantastic, and leaving with a parting bag of goodies was a lovely, unexpected touch.“

“Following recommendations, we tried takeout. Be aware it takes longer than average. I ordered 4 items at 5:40 and pickup time was 6:15-6:30. I was there at 6:20. It was bagged & waiting with many other orders. There were few diners. It looked quite basic & not appealing as a destination unless bringing young children. The owner was gracious and friendly. The small wonton soup could feed 2. It was very good, tho there was a slight aftertaste of oil. I’m used to chow mein noodles being very thin. Theirs is like spaghetti—good, but not what I expected or wanted. Orange chicken was tasty. The broccoli beef had a delicious sauce over extremely tender beef and huge pcs. of broccoli. I asked for no garlic without much hope. No garlic! I was happy👍🏼 Very generous portions with no stinting on meat or fish in entrees. My one real criticism is the size of the cuts. Veggies require a knife as they’re double-size. Very awkward when eating soup. I don’t know if this represents Ping’s style or an overwhelmed cook who hasn’t time to properly prep. It’s a glaring kitchen misstep that needs correcting.
Would I return? Absolutely. Fresh and plentiful, even if I disagree with ingredient prep.“

“On a holiday retreat, and after so many big and expensive meals over the Christmas and Chanukkah holidays, we were thrilled to discover Ming's tucked away off the Main Street in Tiburon. Though GPS took us there, it was still somewhat hard to find. But we percevered Tiny and no frills, but bright and colorful. A birthday party was going on in the corner. A husband and wife and their little girl enjoying a feast across from us. Lots of people coming and going for takeout. But our server, took our order and delicious hot plates of food begam to appear. Potstickers, Wonton Soup, and Kung Pao Chicken plus a bowl of rice. It was all wonderful and enough to take home for dinner the next day. Likely, the best meal of our three-night stay. It's the simple things that matter most.“

Their deep-fried items are also AMAZING!

Those leaf-wrapped entrees represent a good solid value if you're dining on a budget.

The Chinese folks who work here are all very nice and friendly.
They speak somewhat decent/limited English, but their communication skills are GREAT.
I've seen many foreigners and tourists order food from here with NO problems or hassles. Nothing but positive experiences and smiles!
Prices are pretty fair and reasonable... You get honest-sized food portions for your money, but with INCREDIBLE taste and AWESOME quality.
The only negative here, is that there is NO seating room available; so it's pure 100% TAKE-OUT only.
BTW, it's CA$H only!

“The spicy chicken wasn't as spicy as I would have liked - even with the additional hot sauce they provided - but then again, that might just be my high tolerance. The chicken itself was juicy and scrumptious and the garlic noodles had a great consistency to them. I didn't try the donuts, but the apple fritters were a great size and I definitely want to try one the next time I'm in the area. Employees were friendly and inviting, which is key for me as a return customer. And the prices are wonderful - currently 8 dollars for three items! While the selection isn't as wide as other Chinese joints (especially in Chinatown), it's great if you're craving Chinese food and want some some quick and cheap takeout.“
