“We went to Dan Modern Chinese on a Thursday evening around 7:15pm. We had called earlier and were told there wasn’t a need to make reservations. When we got there, they had several tables available and we were seated immediately. The restaurant looks nice from the outside and was also very clean, roomy and comfortable inside. The restaurant doesn’t try to be a fancy affair, rather a casual spot and the furniture reflects it. That’s not a criticism, just a choice they made and it works really well.

Service was quick, friendly and efficient. We got our drinks orders in and it came out quickly. The menu had clearly marked options for vegetarians We then placed our food order. They appear to bring out food as it becomes ready rather than sequencing the meal, so if you prefer a sequence, you should infor your server.

The taste of the food was OK. While I don’t think anything was bad, it wasn’t great either. We asked for chili oil to try and spice it up a little.

Overall, I’d say an average on taste, great service and decent atmosphere. I would recommend it to anyone looking for a quick, casual, modern Chinese restaurant!!“

“I got the oyakodon set and it was such an elaborate meal, I felt like a queen. The oyakodon was so comforting and I really enjoy the fresh fish and tofu/beef sides!! I was also in a rush but the servers were kind enough to get me in and out in a jiffy :) Will be back!!“

“Josui is the most authentic tasting Japanese ramen restaurant I’ve found in Torrance. My personal favorite is the Abura Soba, especially in the warm summer months, but the Josui ramen both with and without garlic is fantastic. My co-workers go nuts for the Tan-tan men.

“There was a 30 min wait that ended up being about 15 mins. Everything we ordered came out pretty fast and tasted amazing! The chicken dumplings were filling and comes with a tasty sauce. The Oxtail Noodle soup was delicate and tasteful as well! My favorite was Black Pepper Beef plate! “They have a sign in front that advertises $7 chow mein, which totally got my friend. It was definitely a heaping portion still of noodles with a good Thai chili kick. I split it into two meals still (although I probably don’t eat a lot compared to a lot of people). A bit greasy and I wish there was more veg. It was savory but not overly salty.

I felt like it was missing a little bit of nuance in its sweetness but I can’t pin what was missing. There was definitely still MSG because I was thirsty after, so that’s not what it was missing.

The free bone broth is really refreshing (reminds me of sullungtang) and a good way to either start or end your meal.“

“I love this pho spot! The ambience is great. The customer service is speedy and you are immediately given a warm welcome as you step in. The food is also really good (although I’ve only ever ordered number 4, the steak and brisket pho 👌🏽). I did try a bit of the shrimp pho when my mom ordered it, and it was good, but I’m more into beef than seafood, so that’s just personal preference. Definitely check it out. This was where I tried pho for the first time and it hits the spot every time.“

“This place served us authentic and delicious Thai dishes. The service lady was very nice and polite. We ordered a lot of food for lunch and they managed to bring them out on a good time even though there were a good number of customers. Massaman curry, pad Thai, pad sew ew, larb, fried rice, sticky rice with fresh mango, were all amazing delicious. The ceiling were decorated with colorful upside down umbrellas which made for some great pictures. Their prices were very reasonable.“

“We had a great experience! I knew the food was going to be good as soon as the owner mentioned he also used to own a restaurant in Portland back in the days. And it was!

We ordered the green beans with tofu, chicken larb, crying tiger, tom yum soup, crab fried rice (real crab!!!), and mango sticky rice. You could really taste each dishes distinct flavor!

“I've been to several Marugame locations, and I like this one because it is very spacious and in a great location. Service is always consistent.

That said, I'm glad that I came back to a lovely surprise. For a very short period of time, the Nikutama Curry Udon, a huge customer favorite was taken off the menu. I'm happy to say that it has returned after much customer feedback. Thank you to the CEO for listening to the uproar and for reverting the menu to include this dish again. There were enough fans of that udon bowl who were ready to choose violence, so I hope it returns permanently.

If you haven't tried the Nikutama Curry Udon, it's a must-try at least once. You will not regret it.“

“Been coming here since I’ve been an itty bitty boy. Always got pho tai and spring rolls and it makes my frown turn upside down. One of the cheaper pho places in the area and I consider it to be a deal for the quality of food. The service has been great every time I’ve been.“

“Lately, I’ve been very into kimbap. However, I can be pretty picky about it in terms of what’s inside. There’s sooooo many options for what kind of kimbap you want. For me, I’m really into the beef kimbap. Kimbap Paradise has the best beef kimbap, in my opinion.

The restaurant is located in Torrance, super close to my home. It’s in a busy shopping center so there’s plenty of parking. I easily just call in my order and pick it up. It’s usually ready within 10/15 mins depending on how busy they are. I never dined in, but there’s lost of seating inside to do so. If you’re not a kimbap fan, they have many other Korean dishes to choose from.“

The Sago’t Gulaman and Naicha Milk Tea are refreshing and perfectly balanced in sweetness. Their Halo-Halo is a must-try — creamy, colorful, and filled with all the classic Filipino ingredients. “I've been eating this restaurant A 15+ year Torrance staple! Japanese-owned with authentic Chuka Ryori (rice dishes), they still serve all the original classics, and the ramen is better than ever.

While the wok dishes are nearly as good as they were historically, everything is still great and worth ordering.

* Mabo Yakisoba / Mabo Rice (Yakisoba is the clear winner!)
* Kanitama Chahan (crab omelet over fried rice with sweet and sour glaze)
* Gomoku Rice

Highly recommended for both newcomers and returning regulars. “Honestly this is a hidden gem. The flavor of it just tastes so authentic . I reccomend you order the tempura udon with a side of gyoza.
They also have sushi and teriyaki.
They are also available through Uber eats.
