Lunch special is $12.50 ) salad, rice and 1 item from menu), lunch combo is $15.00 ( plus salad and 3 spring rolls). Decent portion and authentic flavors. Service is fast. Will definitely come back.“

“Decem and QQ gave us the BEST service we have EVER received. No exaggeration. They provided our group with such a wonderful experience and ALL of our food was amazing. We had chow mein, wings, Mongolian beef, sweet & sour chicken, rice, wor wonton soup, ginger tea, and the sesame seed dessert balls (I don’t remember what they were called). Above all, they treated us like family. We will absolutely be having more family dinners here. If you are reading reviews to see where you should go to eat this is THE place to go. P.S. You must try the chicken wings!“

“Humongous is the word to use for their supreme burrito. The carne asade filling has a pronounced grilled taste which is lovely, definitely will return for it again. The al pastor taco is yummy too.

“My husband and I visited this place before starting our hand rail tours, arriving with quite the appetite. We ordered the blackened shrimp quesadilla, which was both incredibly filling and delicious—the shrimp were impressively large and the portions generous. We also enjoyed the chips and salsa, which were very tasty. However, the highlight of our visit was the outstanding customer service. The gentleman who greeted us was exceptionally kind, charismatic, and accommodating. It's a pity we live in Hayward because we would definitely return! The restaurant is very clean and prices are great!“

“My husband and I want to try something different so we decide to go to this restaurant. We ordered the spicy pork and the Korean Fried rice in the pot. They are pretty good but a little bit pricy. It’s a small cozy family owned restaurant. There were a lot of people coming in during dinner hours. The Parking is limited but we didn’t have problem since we came in earlier.“

“I really enjoyed the combination of ahi tuna, salmon, mango, edamame, crunchy garlic, jalapeño, tobiko(eggs), spicy sauce, seaweeds...yummmy! Although there is no indoor seating, it was refreshing to eat outdoors.“

“Delicious, fresh food and a warm, homey atmosphere! My family was looking for some noodles and soup to warm us up, and New Tokyo did not disappoint in the slightest. We ordered:
• pork cutlet - it was big but cut nice and thin for ease of dipping into sauce
• ramen with BBQ pork - a solid bowl of soup noodles that was just the right size
• butter and corn ramen - personally as a corn fan, this hits the spot!!
• katsudon - the sauce was so good, and the chicken was very tender.
• tempura udon (Not pictured) - one of the best tempura I've had in a while. It wasn't too oily, and it was still light and fresh. Definitely a work of art ♡
• sashimi platter - each cut of seafood was fresh and delicious
For those lovers of hole-in-the-wall mom-and-pop shops, New Tokyo is the epitome of that out here in the heart of Marina.
P.S. wish I tried the chirashi ?“

“So so yummy! Been coming here for years and always receive great service. The staff is always friendly and you can really tell how hard working everyone is because this place gets packed at times. There are options for everyone whether you’re gluten free, vegetarian, or vegan!
Vegetarian options: Vegan options include all the sauces, white/brown rice, noodles and veggies.“

“Updated review: Several years later, Salt Wood just keeps getting better. Their service and wait staff are so welcoming and they were incredibly dog friendly. The ambiance outside is delightful and their heaters are so strong there was no chance of being chilly even at night in December. We were there for our anniversary and received the kindest wishes and most delicious meals.“
