“I love when you find a new restaurant and you can tell there’s love and passion built into every detail of the experience. My wife and I had an amazing time at Free Spirited. We met the owners Amber and Arleo and they were so friendly and welcoming. With regards to the food it was just as heartwarming. Don’t skip out on this spot! Also don’t be deceived by the menus! It reads for the omnivores in mind but everything is vegan and then you have to add meat, etc. if you want it. The couple asks for dietary restrictions up front and are great at explaining everything if you have additional questions. Updated from previous review on 2026-01-11“

“A cozy café with a Korean vibe. I had been following posts about its opening on a thread, so I felt a sense of familiarity with it. The dessert and drink menu were simple and not over-the-top, which I really liked. I was surprised to see more foreigners than Koreans, even though cafés like this usually attract a lot of Koreans. The atmosphere was lovely as well.“

“Absolutely in love with this place. Gigi and her mom have built something special here. The BEST gluten free donuts I have ever had. I’ve been gluten free for five years and have been consistently disappointed with crumbly, dry donuts. Not anymore. This place has changed the game. Their donuts are perfectly moist and amazingly flavorful. I am beaming after visiting this place. Easily my new favorite spot and I will definitely be coming back. “I have been to the 2 Little Tokyo locations and this one is definitely the winner! there’s a huge variety of pastries and things to eat for a quick bite (you might probably have to eat it standing or elsewhere during the weekends since it gets pretty packed and there’s just 3 tables!) but the steamed buns were good!, the matcha mochi wasn’t too sweet so it was perfect, the almond croissant was fine but their specialty is definitely on other pastries! will definitely come back again to try more stuff.“

“Absolutely incredible vegan dishes and top notch service! We stumbled on Rice when looking for vegan options; so happy we did! Dishes we tried: vegan crisp rice sampler, miso soup, garlic edamame, homemade ginger ale and the crispy dynamite role vegan. Everything was so good! The ginger ale was next level - highly recommend! We got homemade pickled ginger with the roll and it was unbelievably tasty and fresh. The miso soup was a nice surprise as most are not vegan; a broth that built upon each sip and the tofu was also homemade. The crispy dynamite vegan roll had such a unique and deep flavor - more smokey than spicy. I can't recommend the food enough. Thank you to the chef and for the exceptional service. What a treat!!“

The soft green and pink décor, the whimsical touches, and the cozy kids’ area all make it feel like stepping into a storybook. The food is fresh, flavorful, and beautifully made , from their baked goods to their fresh breakfast items, lunch and tasty early dinner offerings , everything tastes like care.

The staff ,Owen, Clara, Dominic and the whole team , are as warm and sweet as the kitchen itself. They make you feel seen and welcome in that effortless way that can’t be faked.

If you’re anywhere near Highland Park, treat yourself to their happy hour from 4 to 6, or stop in any time for something fresh made with love and delicious. Kitchen Mouse is a place that reminds you that food can be both joyful and nourishing , for the body and the heart 🥰

“I was always curious about sandwiches sold at pho restaurants, and this place was my first. I will say it was a fantastic sandwich. I enjoyed every crispy bite with all the veggies in the sandwich followed by the rich savory fat taste of the pork belly. The service was pretty good too, I chose a table that was “dirty”, unintentionally, and the server cleaned it before I could mention it and bought me ice cold water as if he knew I was thirsty. Everything about this little hidden spot, on the second floor of the mall, was great.“

“I’ve been to the DTLA Arts District location so many times, so I was shocked (in the best way) to discover this one so close to home. The space is modern, clean, and has a cool vibe — though I still lean toward the unique Arts District atmosphere. What really stands out is the pizza: same incredible quality as DTLA. Blindfold me and I wouldn’t be able to tell the difference.

The only thing to keep in mind is that pizza by the slice can add up — if you’re thinking of grabbing more than two, a fresh pie might be the smarter move. Either way, I’m thrilled to have another amazing spot nearby!“

“This place came to the rescue!!! The wedding cake I had made fell over on the long drive. It was a disaster!! Other bakeries near the wedding venue were already closed and others needed at least 48 hour notice… the wedding was happening NOW. I called Sonora Bakery in my final desperate attempt, explained the situation, sent them a picture of the cake and within minutes, they got to work. The cake was delicious and the wedding was saved. “Was in the area and thought I would stop by since I have been following them on Instagram. I opted to go to the bakery and get a breakfast sandwich for lunch. I’ve had lots of vegan breakfast sandwiches and this one was better than most. I liked that they put it on croissants instead of bagels. I got a chocolate chip cookie to go and it was addicting. Their sandwich combinations sounded really interesting so I’d love to come back sometime and try something savory. “

“We ordered the pecan pie for Thanksgiving. It was the best part of our meal!! I've gone through a lot of pecan pies in my life. Always disappointed that the crust doesn't have the right amount of salt to balance the sweetness or that sweet gooey stuff around the pecans is artificial tasting or the pecans don't taste right. This pie is perfect from start to finish. It's made with real butter which I can taste. The pecans seem to be just slightly roasted and there's lots of them. I'm so happy with this place. I'm ready to try their other products. We ordered online and everything worked out perfectly. There's a bit of a line out the door but you have to understand why. It's just really really good.
