“Absolutely delicious! The crispy pork intestines were perfectly cooked and packed with flavor, and the dipping sauce was amazing. Beautiful presentation, fresh ingredients, and great service. Can’t wait to come back!”

“There was such a long wait here on a Sunday night, but it was totally worth it. Little Skewer is my favorite place to get skewers. Once you step inside, you’ll understand why it takes forever to get a table - you won’t want to leave! The atmosphere of the restaurant seems specifically curated to create the perfect environment for eating and drinking. Beers were BOGO. Chinese wines were served in tea pots and dainty little saucers. Beneath the tavern lights, a lounge singer sweetly serenades the diners through the huge karaoke machine at the front of the store.
Service is mostly done yourself through an iPad. You place your own order through the system and workers bring the food out to you.
Meats such as beef and lamb skewers are ordered in batches of 10 and will most likely make up the bulk of your skewers, but there are many other types of additional skewers to choose from. An unexpected favorite for me was the king oyster mushroom skewers. I don’t even like mushrooms, but these king oyster mushrooms were irresistible. Biting into the springy flesh was so satisfying. The spicy, vibrant flavors and juiciness made my mouth water and crave more. The scallops, served in their shells with glass noodles, garlic, scallions, and chili paste, were addictive enough to pound back like shots. I also really liked the chicken skin skewers because the crispiness provided a nice contrast to the other dishes. And I liked the pineapple sausage so much that I ordered two.
I would totally recommend Little Skewer for dinner, catching up with friends, and a good time.”

“The best Burmese cuisine I have tried in the US of A! Fantastic food, lovely people and awesome service. Highly recommended. I had indian-burmese fusion samosas, Yangon street cafes style, the best I ever had!
Monthinga is good although pretty mild for my taste. More than decent warm mushy tofu. One of the best Nangyithoke. Complementary sago pudding is great too. We didn't have the time for dessert so they packed it for us. Can't recommend them enough.”
“Waited in the rain for about 40 minutes. Was glad this place didn't dissappoint. Beef Bowl, Dumplings, and Beef Noodles were really good. I got so full I couldn't try the Dan Dan Noodles or Spicy Beef Soup. Not pictures was the shrimp fried rice which was also tasty. Would come back again.”

“I enjoyed this place a lot. It was a little bit hard to find at first, as it is located above the supermarket. The server was very friendly, helping me to find a good vegetarian option. The cold sesame noodles were tasty and refreshing, and the price is not bad ($8.99). The dining area is spacious and comfortable.”
“Their breakfast special (available until 11 am) is awesome. For about 14 dollars, I got one Hong Kong style iced milk tea, one huge piece of fried chicken steak and egg, plus stir fried noodle. Very authentic Hong Kong style. Plenty of parking behind the building.”
“First time every eating in a restaurant on a styrafoam plate, but it didn't take away from my meal. Tried out their noodles with beef and I found it to be quite tasty with the sauce. Small simple little place, tempted to return for their breakfast and evening specials”
“Best sushi in LA! Everything melted in your mouth! The fish is fresh, the price is affordable, and the service is great! It looks like a hole in the wall - but wow :)) We eat there once a week and love it! Drove all the way from Studio City to have dinner there - 2 hours each way in traffic - so that's obviously what it says :)) Haha Just love it!”

“This place got some new drinks. So let’s see if they’re pretty good eh or ew. I got their new choco strawberry frosty and strawberry Hokkaido milk tea to try. The frosty had an icy, rich, deeply chocolatey base with a creamy, tangy, cheesey strawberry foam. Legit a desert drink. My fave was definitely the strawberry Hokkaido milk tea tho. Very floral, milky, and sweet, with plenty of jiggly strawberry jellies. Overall these were lowkey pretty good.
$7.25 frosty
$6.50 milk tea”
“They were not joking when they called this comfort food. I was sick, and it was raining, so I wanted something warm and hearty. This place seemed like the obvious choice, and far exceeded my expectations. Food came out fast and blistering hot, but still perfect temperature to eat right away. It was somehow nostalgic, even though it was my first time trying this dish. The tofu was extremely soft, but held its shape well, and very flavorful from absorbing the liquid. It really felt like it cured by illness.
Portion size was also very generous, which is always important. The menu was also pretty varied, I could imagine coming back multiple times and trying something new each time.”
“The food and services are excellent. We eat here every time we visit!”
“Go here and go here soon. This place is great. Super fresh everything. Big coolers on one wall where you select meat and veg on trays and skewers. The assortment is broad. I was fortunate to have gone with friends from China, so they guided my choices. You can't go wrong with the basics here, though. Friendly service and very clean. Open late!”

“I recently stopped by Good Shine Kitchen Chinese Food to pick up some dumplings and wontons, and I was honestly really impressed with the quality and flavor. You can tell right away that this place focuses on comfort food done the right way, without trying to overcomplicate things.
The dumplings were the highlight for me. The wrappers were thin but sturdy, not overly thick or doughy, and they held together perfectly after cooking. The filling tasted fresh and well-seasoned, with a good balance of meat and texture. They reminded me a lot of homemade dumplings you’d eat with family, especially the kind you freeze and cook whenever you’re craving something warm and satisfying.
The wontons were just as good. The filling was smooth and flavorful, and they cooked evenly without falling apart. Whether you enjoy them in soup or on their own, they’re comforting and simple in the best way. This is the kind of food that feels familiar if you grew up eating Chinese or Taiwanese-style home cooking.
The restaurant itself feels low-key and local, but the food quality is solid and consistent. Portions are generous for the price, and it’s a great spot if you’re looking for authentic-tasting dumplings and wontons without needing a fancy setup.
I’ll definitely be coming back to restock my freezer and try more items from their menu. Highly recommended if you’re in the Monterey Park area and craving real comfort Chinese food.”
“I lived in China for 14 years and this is the most authentic Chinese restaurant I have eaten at in Los Angeles. There is a dish at the restaurant called Pídàn qiézǐ (皮蛋茄子). It's a preserved egg and eggplant combination. Sounds funky, tastes amazing. Don't expect eggs rolls, rangoons, & fortune cookies, but if you want a taste of central China without the air fare and hassle of getting a visa, go to Chef Fu's. 好吃!”
“The dim sum here is good, especially their shrimp eggplant toast and chicken feet. They offer complimentary indoor parking, which is a big plus. The service is generally good, but if you order main dishes, expect a longer wait especially during busy weekend lunch hours. Overall, it’s a nice spot for dim sum, just be prepared for slower service when it’s crowded.”
“The best skewers ever. We drove seven or eight hours from Northern California to eat. The ingredients are fresh and taste great. There is a man who looks like the boss and is very nice. We were served quickly knowing we were hungry. Thank you for the delicious food. See you next month.”
“Visited here 2 weeks ago.. the vibe is awesome. The location is tiny but a great use of space and great energy. Shout out to Cindy she is a rockstar! I think Monday nights with Mindy are the best kept secret at this place. Thanks for bringing joy and care into the world through painting (and Boba)... See you soon!”
“The rolls they have to offer are the BEST rolls i have ever had! Not to mention the prices? Beyond reasonable! I've seen high-end restaurants charge more for less. Be warned, there are only 2 workers now, so please be patient, it is worth the wait. I encourage anyone reading this review to try out their Alaskan Roll at the very least. These workers put their pride and joy into the food, and they are beyond kind with all their customers.”
“Great dim sum for a great price as well! Definitely worth checking out! The tea was great too. We got seated immediately and the food carts came around so fast and so often. We weren’t waiting too long for anything.”
“Place specialize in hand pulled noodles and home made dumplings. Very authentic. Recommend the lamb noodles. Just visited again. As delicious as ever. I would love the owners to replace the plasticware with ceramic again. Always weird to eat out plasticware at a restaurant.”

“My wife’s family and I come here at least 1-2 a month. I love coming here. Typically I’ll order their salt and pepper pork, but I’ve yet to order something I didn’t like on their menu.
Service is always extremely friendly and the food usually comes out promptly.”
“I love coming to T-Kebob! However, the last time I came here I noticed their prices have jumped and they no longer serve their lamb and beef skewers in orders of 10. This is my favorite spot for skewers though and their corn cheese is perfect! They've also switched brands for their Taiwanese sausage and it doesn't taste as good.”
Takeout Restaurants
“Cute dessert spot that feels reminiscent of classic HK/TW dessert shops. We came on a Saturday night and were seated right away—no wait. It’s largely a self-service experience (ordering straight from the menu and servers are basically just runners).
Prices are a little on the high side, but kudos to them for delivering dishes that actually look like the photos. Therefore, there are plenty of Instagram-worthy items for those looking for that! Good experience, but not necessarily a repeatable one.
(For taste, I do recommend the mango/grape dessert - though that’s not as unique as the other items).”
“This place is unassuming, but then they sucker punch you with HANDS DOWN the BEST WONTON NOODLES EVER. I have yet to eat more perfect wonton noodles with dumplings. The broth is simple and clean and delicious and the dumplings are amazinngggg as well. I have gotten multiple dishes here and have had the most awesome taste bud adventures.
If you're not a noodle person (le gasp), you can't go wrong with the curry and the hainan chicken. I don't know how they do it. The food is rich in flavor but I don't feel greasy or anything after eating it. I guess it's just super fresh ingredients, homemade, and skillfully cooked food. Try it to believe it!!”

“The food is very good here, and the service is great. When I lived in Monterey Park, I went there many times. I came back from San Diego, and the food is still very good. I like crab udon (bánh canh cua) the most because it's much better than any Vietnamese restaurants I've tried. Highly recommended.”
“My family and I frequent here quite often and every single time, the drinks were on point! Thai tea, Thai-chata, strawberry vortex, pineapple escape, milky way taro, polar pomegranate are just a few that I've tried and would recommend but everything including food is so good. Their customer service is also great! Always a pleasant experience for us. We've "cheated" and have gone to other boba places when traveling but it's not the same. Twisteas definitely has our loyalty!”
“Teas ($/lb.):
Bi Luo Chun Spring Snail Green (曲綠碧螺春) $89.99
Dancing Butterfly (玉蝶金蓮) $108.99
Delightful Bouquet (幸福花籃) $108.99
High Mountain Fog Green Tea (高山雲霧) $95.99
High Mountain Tie Guan Yin (高級高山韻香鐵觀音) $68.99
Rose Black Tea (玫瑰古樹紅茶) $39.99
Spring Queen Pearl of Jasmin Green Tea (珍珠茉莉花茶皇) $149.99
Superior Peony (White Tea) (明前高級白牡丹) $159.99
West Lake Longjing Tea (明前)(西湖龍井茶--龍塢茶村) $148.00 for 8 oz.
Bird Pick Glorious Paradise $6.50/0.5 oz. (2 rosettes)
Bird Pick Sprinkle Stars Tin $19.99 for 2 oz.
I stopped by Wing Hop Fung to restock on loose leaf teas; it's generally best to buy around November - December because they offer discounts (usually 10% - 30%) for VIP members; this visit was 20% with a random 30% & 40% on select flavors. I typically purchase a half dozen, but this time I went double digits because my son wanted to try a couple.
I left a couple of bags over the summer while visiting my MIL, so I needed to restock. Judy was handling the counter & brewed samples of High Mountain Tie Guan Yin (aka goddess tea), which had a nice roasted & sweet tang. I also tried the Rose Black Tea, which had a fragrant floral taste.
I picked a few of my usual & tried a couple of new blossoming teas: Dancing Butterfly & Delightful Bouquet (my fav Peach Fairy is no longer stocked), & mostly green teas with an oolong & white tea. Most of my picks are in the mid-range, & usually purchase between 1/4 - 1/2 oz., with the occasional 1 lb. of my favorite of the day. My fav oolong, Phoenix Yellow Stone Oolong (天仙獻福工藝茶) wasn't in stock; I love the mellow & smooth taste with strong honey aroma. These tea trees in Guangdong have been there since the Song Dynasty & were once only reserved for royalty, so this tea is still rare due to its limited production. I'm not sure if this is also discontinued but I haven't seen it on my last 2 visits. \(`0´)/
It was nice chatting Judy, giving me an opportunity to practice my Cantonese (廣州話), but customers kept interrupting my order so it took longer than necessary with just 1 person behind the counter, & the fact that I usually sample 1 - 2 teas & sniff the teas before buying. No tea comps from 阿姨 for this large purchase. If M wasn't with me, I might have asked to sample a couple more teas. ;-) There’s a stack of aged pu-erh teas that are almost a decade old, ranging from $99.99 - $2,399.99/lb. (top to bottom). Wowza!
I also stocked up some snacks & found a cute kitty mug for my niece; she's been newly inducted to drinking loose leaf teas so I'm sharing my load as part of her Christmas gift. I need to find her a clear teapot for the blossoming teas. I wanted to pick-up guilinggao (龟苓膏) & bird's nest (燕窩), but didn't see any & already overstayed because the l'il guy was getting impatient so I skipped it/didn't ask about them.
I'm sad that they're no longer in Chinatown; they currently only have 2 locations: Monterey Park & Arcadia (The Shops at Santa Anita). Still not a frequent patron but a loyal one, I always look forward to restocking my tea supplies here & practicing my Cantonese.
Recommended: Loose teas (listed above), Bird Pick Glorious Paradise, Bird Pick Sprinkle Stars.”

“Endroit hyper typique ! Bonne musique, cocktails d’un excellent niveau et à un prix tout à fait honnête, tous les classiques sont dispo et le barman tient la corde niveau cordes vocales !! “Overall the food was just okay here.
I came late in the day so I sadly missed the egg tarts but they had plenty of po tarts which are basically milk cream custard in the tart forms. The pastry was so light and flaky with a rich and velvety filling!
I wanted a savory pastry too and asked the cashier which was their favorite, they recommended the spicy curry. This wasn't the best.It wasn't bad but it also wasn't spicy nor did it have much flavor. The pastry dough itself was so much better than the entirety of the item.”
“Wow! Meat pies from heaven in a mini- mall off N Garfield Avenue. Everything here is great. Not a sit down place as such, since it's really small and they only have a few tables, but I'm sure you could eat in if you wanted to (they have a short menu) - but it's not really a restaurant atmosphere - more of a small hole in the wall family run takeout, with Grandpa making dumplings by hand at a table when I was there. There seems to be very little English spoken here. Very delicious and authentic - I'll be back!”
“This place has the most delicious food ive ever eaten. Im being real. I don't even live nearby but I get this as often as I can just so I can eat the chicken taquitos. If I was on death row my last meal request would be the taquitos. I dream about them. Im being serious. Go here. Get taquitos. And then think to yourself wow I wish I had gotten these taquitos earlier in my life, how much taquito-ing have I missed out on by not getting these more often!??!! Also the workers are really nice and it's a small business and you already know about supporting small businesses. Forreal.”

“Love this place just down the way from a HS. Gives the student a place to eat within walking distance and lovely to have a great ramen place locally. The food is always consistently delicious and the place is small, simple and clean. Easy to order, delicious food. The shoyu and tonkotsu ramen are so tasty and goes so well with their garlic paste. The spicy tuna bowl, spicy tuna on crispy rice and pork buns are alternatives to those who want less carb heavy bowls. A wonderful, local find in MPk.”
“Traditional Taiwanese dishes served in a banquet setting. That’s a first - I have only seen Taiwanese food served in casual restaurants and cafes.
Menu is expansive and every dish we ordered tasted authentic. Best stinky tofu I’ve had outside of Taiwan.”
“If you want good chinese food
This isnt a bad spot
The waiters speak decent english so its easy to communicate and they recommend solid dishes
If you come and need a private room, they can accomodate too. Parking structure is in the front so quite easy”

“This is one of the good business in Monterey Park with good Asian foods. Unfortunately, they no longer provide wi-fi access so a lot of guests no longer come here to work on the 3 coffee tables that are available and just kind of grab their breads and go. This is not a good spot for that if you are interested in finding a place to grab a drink and talk for a long time or do some work but it is a good place to grab one or two, $3 item and then leave. I enjoy coming here for the Buy One, Get One Free Matcha Latte promotion drinks. It is a good deal to be able to two large drinks for the price of one, which is around $6. I recommend always waiting for the promotions, since they always do them, when visiting instead of paying full-price. The new Heytea just opened as well so there is another option for boba drinks and there are lots of Boba drinks down the entire street. There is also the best boba drink(s) and brands that are in the El Monte parts of the San Gabriel Valley like 7Leaves, Boba Time, ShareTea, MeowTea, Ono Tea House, Mira, which is very nearby and just a short drive down the community.”
“The drinks are a little on the sweet side, but from what I've had so far, you can tell they really use tea. Also their matcha is superb, both their lattes and the hojicha drinks. The tapioca pearls are also just right in chewiness. The fruit teas are ok; I taste the tea base but the fruit can sometimes taste pretty artificial. Overall, very solid drinks and I go back when I'm in the area. I always recommend The Tea to friends.”
“I just came across this place by chance and got interested in ‘rice noodles’ and never had any dish from Guilin before. I was pleasantly surprised to find a gems of cuisine! The owners are super-friendly and especially generous condiment booth much more so than any restaurants I’d seen. Plus the price is super economical. Because of such pleasant personalities and exceptional services of the owner couple, it makes the ambiance so unique and very cozy to dine in. Not to mention the taste of the dish is great! I love the chewy round rice noodles that seems to be hand-made. It reminds me of simple noodles made laboriously I encountered in a remote village in Laos where they called it ‘Khao Pun’ made fro slightly fermented rice that was pounded, steam and pounded again so the texture is soft but chewy. It came in delicious meat sauce. I got pork belly and beef ribs. I was surprised that beef ribs were debone making it very pleasant to eat. This place is a rare find and I’ll be back to try other dishes again”
“We ordered the eggplant, water spinach (kangkong), steamed sole fish, pork chop in Peking sauce, wanton/beef brisket and noodles in soup, and kungpao chicken. It was all so delicious, the portions are generous, and service is fast & pleasant. There were 4 adults and 2 kids and we had plenty of leftovers to take home. Highly recommended.”
“If you love freshly made Taiwanese bread, cakes, and pastries, this bakery in the San Gabriel Valley is a must-visit. Their cakes are fluffy and moist, with frosting that’s smooth and never overly sweet—unlike many American or Korean cakes, which can be too sugary. The balance is perfect every time, and when fruit toppings are used, you can tell they carefully select the best fruits for an extra-special touch.
Their Taiwanese breads and pastries are equally impressive—fluffy, soft, and delicious without being overly salty or heavy. The sandwiches are also fantastic, making this bakery my go-to spot for both sweet and savory favorites.
The bakery is well managed and clearly takes pride in its offerings. Inside, there’s an instant noodle ramen shop where you can make your own meal on the go with plenty of seating, plus a coffee and boba shop for a complete experience.
If you’re in Alhambra, San Gabriel, Rosemead, or even nearby LA, this place is worth the trip. If you’re spending your money on food, spend it right—this bakery delivers every time.”
“From the moment we walked in, the staff made us feel like family. The pizza was absolutely amazing, with a perfect crust and just the right balance of flavors. The atmosphere was warm and lively, making it a great spot to hang out with friends. Definitely coming back!”
“All-vegetarian Chinese food that doesn’t compromise on flavor. I ordered kung pao “chicken” and honestly couldn’t tell it wasn’t meat. The portions are large and great for sharing. The staff are attentive but not pushy. It’s a peaceful spot for plant-based dining”

“I work across the street so i often go to canes during my lunch break, this canes always has very fast service and quality sweet tea which is my favorite. I'd like to point out that Mariah at the front is always very quick and kind as well as listen to my personal request for my meals. Shannon who i believe is in a managerial position is also always so kind and greets everyone with a smile. They both help with the atmosphere of eating at canes. Great crew overall definitely worth coming by and if there is anything ever wrong with your meal just let them know they will HELP!”

Walking into this cafe felt like walking home. The setup was like a cozy living room filled with a bunch of Christmas decorations, and it was honestly so so cute!! 🎄🎅
The drinks were delicious and not that sweet which are obviously the best compliment you could ask for (duh😝!!)
The matcha was smooth and didn’t have a bitter aftertaste. I personally really liked the cheese coffee because the cheese reminded me of the type of cheese I used to eat when I was younger, although it is an acquired taste.
Def need to try when in the sgv! ⋆˙⟡♡

“My go to spot for skewers. Fresh meat every time and the best tasting skewers in the area. I notice people complain about service but I personally love the laid back scene of skewer restaurants where you scan to order. Lady is very nice & servers are solid. Their dishes are very flavorful.
** update ** Almost a year later and this is still the best skewer restaurant in LA in terms of flavor of meat and quality of meat. I see a lot of negative reviews but I just don’t know how they’re saying the food isn’t palatable etc.”
“Great Dim Sum spot for classic dim sum food and not too long on wait for a table.”
