“This is definitely one of the oldest and nicest place in LA to offer good food next to a public and accessible beach.
One of the best time to go is by mid-afternoon as it’s less crowded and in the winter you can enjoy the sunset by 5pm. They do offer a lot of seafood dishes from the traditional clams chowder to the lovely lobster roll. For the kids they have a couple off-menu options such as a special kids fish n chips.
Definitely a great spot that I recommend for brunch and afternoon drinks and snacks.

Parking: They have a 13$ valet as well as a public parking available

Kid-friendliness: Next to the beach this is a great spot to enjoy a bite while the little ones are running on the beach

“I took my husband for Father’s Day brunch/lunch at our favorite Italian restaurant here in the Palisades and as always it did not disappoint. It never does. He loved his steak and eggs, steak was Devine and I loved my chick pea soup. Always have the panne cotta and the cherry gelato and an espresso in their delightful patio and you’ve been to Italy!“

“This was a great brunch and starting with the grapefruit and juniper spritz set the right tone because they were perfectly balanced. I hate cocktails that throw off the balance with alcohol. Baked scallops, great flavor; lobster pasta I highly recommend because the sauce could be eaten by itself it’s so good; smoke salmon Benedict was done to perfection and the highlight for me was the addition of avocado and a very thin super crispy muffin! I always think muffins are too big so that was a big plus for me.“

“For me, this is a restaurant where you should take family and family-friends. Easy valet parking, cozy location on the marina, sleek seating with maritime decor, classic (and strong) drinks, and a quiet ambience -- all make it a standout in LA, where oftentimes the quality of the food outstrips all the other aspects of the dining experience. As for food: we liked all the seafood options we tried (sea bass, bouillabaise, sand daps), and the burger was thick and juicy. Remarkably, we spent three hours talking and enjoying our three-course meal, and the servers were friendly the whole time and didn't rush us. We will be back!“

“We always have a great dinner when we come here. Our server was great. The food was delicious. We love the Seabass, the filet and the new Wagyu steak. All the sides were yummy. They also had a live jazz group playing which gave it a great ambiance.“

“The Baseline: For a seafood fast casual restaurant the fish/seafood needs to be fresh, the presentation of the food should be comforting and respect the delicacy of the seafood, and there must be a selection of accompanying offerings.

Food: The lobster is high quality here and the preparation is excellent. The Lobster Roll sampler is really good to try the different preparations. The full lobster roll is meaty and filling. The chips are nice but wish I had fries. The soda selection is awesome (got a Maine Blueberry soda). The price is what you get when you order the lobster.

Service: Counter order deliver to your table service. Good and efficient.

Ambiance: The restaurant is really well presented and has good decor. The bathroom was clean. The seating was well laid out and the lighting was good in the restaurant. Unfortunately, the outside is Santa Monica 2025 and is sketchy at night (not the restaurant’s fault)“

“I came across Playa Provisions when in town for business. It was a short Uber from the airport, so I figured I'd give it a try. This place is an absolute gem! It is a unique setup that has everything you'd possibly need from morning until late at night: Cafe in the front for coffee and fresh baked good, as well as full breakfast menu. Later in the heat of the afternoon, take a break from the beach (right across the street) and enjoy hand scooped specialty ice cream cones and shakes. Oh look, it's dinner time... and Playa Provisions opens their dining room and bar, some of the best, most relaxed ambience you'll find for miles around. But don't let the casual setting fool you, this is some incredible, elevated cuisine. Chef owners Nick and Brooke (who you might recognize) crafted a menu that's I've been eating my way through, and have yet to find a dish that's not delicious. You've been eating and drinking all day, and are exhausted? Don't leave yet! Wander into the back 'secret' whiskey bar, (Grain Whiskey Bar) and enjoy hand crafted cocktails from award winning bartenders (no, literally), in a gorgeous wood laden atmosphere. “My friend and I had lunch on Tuesday. We arrived there around noon, and there was no line yet! There is a large parking lot in front of the restaurant. If it’s full, there is additional parking underground. As soon as we placed our order and found a table for two, there was a line of people. The fish (grilled) was good!! Not dry at all!! I loved that there were so many hot sauces to choose from. I also enjoyed the roasted yellow peppers…!! they were meaty and not spicy. Since I ordered a combo, I picked their hibiscus tea, which was tart and sweet, just the way I like it! I will definitely go back to try other items.“

“I will like to give a shout out to the chef. I think his name is Shawn or Sean. When we got to Santa Monica, we looked up restaurants to go have our 26 year anniversary dinner, we stayed at Hotel Delmar right across the street. We googled the restaurant menu, and decided what we were going to have. when we got there, and they brought out the menus, all what we decided to have was not on there. I was crushed. Because I had my mind set on the Halibut. I said it's ok I will just have the Ribeye, mind you I had a ribeye steak the night before. When the waiter came back, my wife asked if it's possible to get the Halibut and he said let me check with the chef. He came back later and said the chef said it's no problem. I was blown away. That was the best Halibut ( besides mine) that I have ever had. Thank you chef Shawn. From one chef to another, thank you. you made my night.“

We have never been to a Bubba Gump Shrimp restraunt before, will never return either. Too bad. Went across the pier to Seaside on the pier and have an excellent view.“

Restaurant is clean and organized. Lighting is good. The noise level is perfect! Glad I could easily enjoy a conversation without struggling to hear or talk!! So important.

They do offer valet. I parked on the street with metered parking.

Food:
Did the full omakase for ~$120/person. This includes 3 appetizers (choice of soup), a small salad, fresh oysters, and we had white fish with truffle and a nice sauce. All of these were excellent!

The fish was fresh. However, some of the fish had one note with what at times was an overwhelming ocean taste. I know some people really enjoy that. However, it was distracting from the taste of the fish itself.

Quality wise was not the best I’ve had. Happy that the fish was not covered in sauces. Chef does let the fish speak for itself. Would have been nice to have included more tuna and a beef course.

The uni quality was not great. Maybe it is just me, but I really am not enjoying uni the way others seem to enjoy it. Last item was a hand roll made from Crab. Very tasty, but I was full.

I will mention one of the pieces, the perch, was memorable for how bad it tasted. It looked and smelled delicious, firm white meat, with some darker shades. But the taste was… It tasted like what a boat covered in barnacles looks like.

We did get to finish with a choice of desserts.

Would I return? Perhaps to try the regular rolls from the menu.“

“I absolutely love this place. Every time I’ve brought my dog Harry Potter (which is every visit!), we’ve both been treated with such warmth and care. One of his favourite meals is the salmon and rice dish, and when we walked in today he got so excited because he knew exactly what was coming!

The management truly go above and beyond. They remember both my name and my dog’s name every time we visit, and they’re always incredibly kind and generous — on our last visit, it was a bit chilly and the manager even lent me his jacket. The food is consistently delicious and truly great value for the price. Highly recommend!“

“Came here on a birthdsy friendly date night recommend by my foodie girlfriend. First thing you'll notice is the ambiance, I loved it. Our service was excellent. Now, as a fine dinning chef myself we can get into the food.

Baked Oysters, perfectly cooked, flavor profile, meh. Tuna Tostada, too small and under seasoned. Roast Pork, is so close to perfect. Cocnut rice was lovely as well. Drinks are creative and fun. Desserts were decent. The bad? Portion sizes are a joke. And it's likely you'll have to eat again, after already having eaten here.

My thoughts? Overall, a fun experience, especially as our server was awesome and honestly made some good suggestions. The food is fun, well executed and very creative. The decore and over all ambiance is dope. My compliments to the chef for having balls enough to push elevated cuisine in new directions. 🤌“

“Delicious poke, fast service, the cafe has uncomfortable stools, it is impossible to relax and enjoy visiting the cafe. We took a small portion of poke and it was enough to eat. The cafe menu has very tasty ice cream in the form of macarons, but the refrigerator with ice cream is behind the counter and we accidentally saw this ice cream. Maybe it is necessary to move the refrigerator to a more visible place for visitors. I recommend“
