“No amount of poorly-written AI reviews can do this awesome place justice, so as always, you're getting a human-written review from a human-experienced event. Yesenia was our server and she was a 10/10 all-around super professional server from the moment we set fot in the establishment. The food itself is unmatched. I have been to their San Gabriel location at least 3 or 4 times and this place is just as good in terms of flavor and quality. The ambiance is great, the server even went as far as lowering the window blinds after some new customers walked in and they sat close to one of the windows. Tsukemen will forever remain as my favorite kind of Ramen (it's basically cold noodles that you dip in a hot and salty broth served in a small bowl on the side). One of the assistant managers offered to help me in how to eat it but I was already familiar with the concept, so I thanked her for her offer and proceeded to eat. The fried chicken is another ball game, it's literally Japanese fried chicken but they also add a touch of some sort of honey-based syrup that makes it 100 times better. My parents had the tonkotsu and it was great too. Truly a remarkable experience in the heart of Old Town Pasadena.“

“I was in Osaka (Japan) and tried takoyaki there...and I want to say that the takoyaki in this restaurant is top notch!!! Maybe even tastier than they were in Japan back then 🥰
I really liked the beautiful presentation and, of course, the incredible taste! 🐙
Plus, while I was waiting for my dish, I saw a huge portion of ramen at the next table 🍜
I immediately wanted to try it, so I will definitely come back again!
I would also like to note that it’s cozy inside + it smells delicious. The staff is very nice and friendly ✨“

“We had a wonderful experience here!! Service was 10/10 and they helped make my friend’s birthday memorable. The ramen is delicious - not too salty or oily or heavy, and the broth is super tasty. This establishment has a rich history; ask the servers!
Thank you to Mija, our server, for an amazing experience!“

“Simple and straightforward menu. It doesn’t make you feel overwhelmed looking at the menu. Staff are super friendly and attentive! Indoor seating only. Very clean! Portion is very affordable, I ordered one bowl and ordered extra noodles and an empty bowl. It was perfect for my two kiddos to share!
I really wanted to try the calamari but it was sold out. So definitely gotta come back next time to try it.
They have good mix of long tables for bigger parties and small tables for 2-4ppl. They can adjust the level of saltiness of the ramen which is awesome! Never been to a ramen spot that has offered that before.
Ordered 3 bowl of tonkatsu ramen, karrage chicken, beef gyoza, and a Sapporo. It was all perfect for our ramen loving family! Definitely recommend you checking them out!“

“Love the food, I initially doubted the portion size but it turned out to be more than enough. Downside is that it gets really packed whenever I go there and there's at least 30+ minutes of wait, and be prepared for your food to come out a little later than you'd expect. Come with some company and you're good.“

“I am only rating the popcorn chicken Ramen! That is the item I've had 4 times. The restaurant is kinda hidden. If you ever go there, they are right in front of the alhambra carwash and its in a brick building.
The chicken is mild. Medium or hot spice level. Soup is super hot and tasty.
It is quite a treat. You should definitely try this item if its your 1st time. If you are mexican and like spicy like me get medium spice and xtra spice on the side in case you like it very spicy! Will definitely keep going.“

“I've been to quite a bit of ramen spots around southern California and this one hits the spot like few others do. The Tonkatsu ramen has such a rich and flavorful broth like no other! Absolutely a must get, plus the Shoyo ramen is so comfortable and delicious. If you want good ramen this place is a must visit.“

“Their Tan Tan Men Ramen are the best! I love how I have the opportunity to customize our ground meat choices (I.e. ground pork or ground chicken). Topped with nori, baby bok choy, bean sprouts, hard-boiled egg, and ground meat, the ramen have the perfect flavor. Their chicken karaage were the best too!“

“Supa supa cute!!! >_< i went recently on a little date with my boyfriend and we sat in front of the window, really relaxing environment and the server was so nice, and best of all, the food was super good! It was also fast, probably because it wasn’t busy but still this place’s a gem :D“
“Definitely come here since im s vegetarian i love the vegetable bowl... beyond great and also the vege springs rolls“

“Best vegan/vegetarian ramen I’ve had (and I’ve been to Japan!) It is hard to find a vegetarian-friendly bowl of ramen that has any flavor, but their Spicy Creamy Vegan ramen is packed full of flavor.
I’ve been coming here since they opened and have never had a bad experience. I always make sure to bring friends and family when they are in town and everyone I’ve brought raves about the food as well (including the non-veg options). I live in the area and will always choose this place over Silverlake Ramen, which is actually closer to me! We went there once and the whole time thought, “Man…we should have gone to DTLA Ramen instead.”
Service is always speedy and friendly, but last night they went above and beyond. My partner had a small health episode as we were eating and the staff immediately noticed and rushed over to help after I asked for water for him. They helped me move him to a better seat and offered us a can of soda while he was recovering. After he started to feel better, I burst into to tears (it was pretty scary!) and our waiter came to check on me. They even comped our beers, which they absolutely did not have to do! The entire experience just solidified my love for this place. I will always be a loyal customer of DTLA Ramen!“

“Great food and I was shocked at the affordable prices. I got for for 4 people and it cost only a little above $50, which is insane in this day and era. The Tonkatsu Ramen really was delicious and my family went crazy for the Mushroom Curry.“

“I enjoyed eating the food here but thought it was a little pricey for what it was. The ambience was great. The karaage was tasty but the amount of chicken was pretty small for the price. The dipping noodles were good with a nice chew and the broth was pretty flavorful and salty. Because they have to cook the broth for so long to concentrate it, it is more expensive than normal ramen. One of the issues I run into with dipping ramen is the fact that around halfway through eating, you end up with cool/cold food because the broth doesn’t stay hot enough to offset the noodles and stuff you’re dipping in.
Overall, I’d come back here if I was craving dipping ramen but would probably find somewhere else if just looking for normal ramen.“

“Solid, straight to the point spot for ramen. I got the Kai Red ramen and wife got the Tonkotsu Classic. The Kai red had a good kick, not too overbearing and the soup had a nice consistency. Wife enjoyed the Tonkotsu classic, nothing fancy, just well balanced and very familiar in a good way. For appetizers, we also got Takoyaki and Sesame Fried Chicken, which my daughter really enjoyed. I thought the Takoyaki was the sleeper. The Kai's Boba Milk tea definitely came in handy to cool us off, from both the ramen and the heat outside. I want to try the Spicy Miso and Kai's white ramen on our next run.“

“I come to this restaurant often when I come to visit LA. After trying different menu items, I gravitate more to their rice options than the ramen itself. The ramen now to me is pretty okay. This place is kind of a hole in the wall if you're not a student in the area, really glad I found it! The rainbow girl in the front is fun and honest with estimated kitchen times. She puts in the effort to try and suggest items if you're unsure. Good to chat with if there's time. Some orders do take longer to be pushed out though. I wouldn't come here expecting fast food. I do plan on coming back every time I visit!“

“This place was absolutely amazing! I normally don't review a place until I've been to it at least three times, but this is my second time and I just had to review it. The first time we came we ordered ramen and it exceeded our expectations and we also got the yakitori platter which was great because you get to try a little bit of everything. The broth on the ramen was super tasty. And we also got a tea which was really good. The Negima yakitori was my favorite! The decor of the place is super nice too and the music playing is really good. It's also very clean and you can tell a lot by how clean a restroom is. The second time we tried the tonkatsu omurice and it did not disappoint. It was absolutely amazing! The curry sauce that goes on top is 🤌 definitely a shareable size and you can get some yakitori on the side. For dessert, we had the cherry blossom jelly and it is one of the most unique things I've ever tried. It is a very refreshing dessert. The staff was also really nice and super helpful both times that we came. Asking if we had any questions on the menu and also just trying to make our experience the first time a really good one. This place is definitely 5/5. Highly recommend.“

“Onigiri!! Anime Food!! Definitely worth 6.50 and super delicious ?. My favorite was the pork Onigiri. Very chill environment, the service was so great. He explained the menu to us and was very attentive and we tried 2 other Onigiri and they're huge and tasty. Spam and fried chicken ? were delicious. The other items such as the curry looked really good but we had to rush out and didn't have time to order anything else. I'll be back for more Onigiri!.“
