“First time ordering a crunch cake! We got the 6” inch strawberry crunch cake and called in the order a day before to pick up. Parking is limited since it’s a residential street. When I arrived for pick up, they were just putting the brittle on. The cake is very unique, the strawberry crunch had brittle crumble all over the outside and in the inside are two moist cake and a thick layer of cream and fresh strawberries. The cake is not that sweet and taste amazing with the brittle crunch. Cutting it wasn’t that difficult, I wiped the knife each slice as instructed. I would order the mocha cake next time! This cake is $35, cash only.“

“It’s probably a good thing I don’t live closer…I can’t get enough of the cannolis! I like the plain cannolis but the wife likes the chocolate dipped ones. Can’t go wrong with the pistachio topping but will have to try with Maraschino cherry on the next visit (was told this is the traditional topping).“

“Old school Italian bakery/cafe. The counter lady seemed bothered by my existence, but I’m not offended. The cake I had was dry and a little two artificially flavored for my taste. Although I am not a huge fan of Italian sweets to begin I like to support small businesses and try new places. Lots of cookies and other sweets on display as well.“

“Excellent quality. This is the Asian bakery we keep coming back to over and over again. I particularly recommend the scallion bun, I get that more than anything else, but the Portuguese egg tarts and pineapple cakes deserve honourable mention. It’s all good though.“

“Mmmmmm soft fluffly cheesecake. If you want more egg heavy cheesecake, Uncle Tetsu might not be a good option for you. The ube cheesecake is always tasty, but I was not a fan of the Oreo cheesecake. The Oreo cheesecake was just the classic with bits and pieces of Oreo, doesn't taste at all like Oreos unfortunately. Recommend the classic, ube, and pandan coconut flavors!“

“Cozy little hidden place in San Mateo. A bakery, coffee shop and specialized on cakes. They do offer some Filipino delicacies.“

“Happy to have found this lovely bakery in San Mateo downtown. We love their sourdough breads, sweet and savory pastries. They have long lines on the weekends so prepare to wait at-least 10-15 minutes if you are getting coffee with your pastry.
Some of my favorites are “tomato girl”, “Kouign-amann” and “everything croissant bagel”. Their chocolate sourdough and olive sourdough bread are also very unique and tasty.
They also have a cute patio on the back where you can sit, relax and enjoy the food.“

“Your usual Chinese bakery-- it's a chain so it's a bit more standardized but similar prices and quality to some of the more random mom & pop ones you find in the city. Decent BBQ pork buns for the price, but for better overall (but pricier) buns try Simply Cake. Not busy on a Friday afternoon, friendly staff, good ventilation.“

“Beard Papa's: A Must-Try!
Beard Papa's is an absolute gem! Their cream puffs are simply divine. The delicate, crispy shell is the perfect vessel for the luscious, creamy filling. Every bite is a moment of pure indulgence. To top it off, the service is exceptional. The staff is friendly, efficient, and makes you feel welcome. I can't recommend Beard Papa's enough - it's a truly unforgettable experience.“

“Bad customer service They ask you if you want napkins even when you buy a dessert and man was not polite new people can Be hired“
“There was a cheesecake like pastry that was very nice that the lady behind the counter suggested. It made me think of Uncle Tetsu's but with a more flan like center. Five starts for thatThe vanilla roll was a bit dry and had gone hard on the bottom, but the lady did recommend going with the strawberry one (there were more of those and they looked fresher)There was a sugar covered croissant that was alright (and the lady in front of me got like six of them) but I'm used to the flakey buttery French kind and these are soft and more bread likeSo maybe ask and go with what they say is good ?“
“Friendly staff. Parking right in front. I usually get a parking spot each time I visit. I love their Atoles ( corn flavor). We usually buy a lot of Champuradas and the long one coated with sugar. Prices are reasonable for all sorts of varieties of sweet bread.“
