“Tommy's Wok does everything exceptionally well, from consistently delicious food to wonderful service. We love it for pick-up, but the atmosphere in the restaurant is lovely if you want to dine in. There is lots to explore on a menu that highlights fresh ingredients including organic produce. Our mainstay orders include beef chow fun, jumbo fried prawns, wonton soup, lettuce wraps with minced duck, and snow pea shoots sautéed with garlic.“

“One of the best dumplings I've tried! The line on weekends lunch wasn't too bad, it was about 30min ish. Everything was just on point! I was shocked to see the XLB to be see through but yet it wouldn't break. My favorite was the mala spicy XLB, the soup was delicious with just a little bit of a kick of the numbing spicy flavor! The spicy red chili dumpling was filled with the nutty flavor of peanut with just a dap of chili oil for the fragrance. Hands down one of the best dumpling places that I wouldn't mind waiting in line for~“

“By their own standards, this place is doing a good job. I found it a little overbearing, but I'll admit, part of what comforts me about Vietnamese restaurants is being left alone. I was not. I was even given instructions about how to order next time! One person working there seemed concerned I ate only half my bun bo hue, but I truly ate all I could and then some, it was just a lot for me. I think $20 is a lot for pho, but I was fine with that, as I was expecting it. I do wish the bun bo hue came with a pork hock, but the broth and the beef were so refined, that is not a complaint. More pork blood would be nice... but, I think they have perfected what it is that they do, which is all I ever want, personally.Would go back. They seem to foster loyalty; I can see why. They're very welcoming, and the food is comforting, as someone who grew up on SFV phoGot bun bo hue because it looked like everyone else did. Was happy with that choice. All the food looked pretty good.“

“Overall 6.7/10 Was really excited to try this place and came for dinner a few days ago. I wasn't super enthusiastic about the meal; my husband liked it a lot better than I did. Service was great throughout. We did the high top reservation and they're in a little half nook; interior was nice. We ordered the Shrimp Chips, Stemple Creek Beef with Hong Kong Noodles, and Peking Duck. Shrimp chips were basic ships with some malt vinegar; nothing super exciting but tasty. The noodles I did not like at all; had one small serving and was done with them. I thought they had a weird tomato flavor to them. My husband loved them and finished the dish for us. Peking Duck was interesting. It comes with crepes, cucumbers, cilantro, some green onions, peanut hoisin sauce, and a mousse. Peanut hoisin was good - I was a bit concerned, but it was nice. The crepes were thicker than normal - again a little concerned, but when eating it was perfectly pleasant. The duck itself it almost a bit of a BBQ duck -- it wasn't the typical Peking Duck that you get at Chinese restaurants. If you do want the typical Peking Duck flavor, I wouldn't recommend this. It was good though. The duck itself was really fatty, which I wasn't as big a fan of. Overall, it was an ok Peking Duck -- wasn't my favorite, but definitely a fun option if you want a different style. As noted in other reviews, even though we did reserve a duck with the reservation it does take an hour to come out. The wait staff did try to pace out our dishes so we didn't feel like we had to wait a really long time for it, but just a warning if you order it be prepared to wait.“

“This was my first time visiting Fiery Hot Pot. I was part of a 4-top party going in just after 6pm on a Sunday evening, without a reservation. We were promptly seated within 5-minutes upon arriving! The ambience is pleasant and modern, the layout with open seating tables and booths provide an option for guests to have either more intimate or informal dining scenarios. Considering you are likely to be sharing hot pot entrees, you may want to be secluded with your party or share in the delight of creating your very own version of hot pot soup making. As one of my party guests remarked, it is analogous to a "choose your own adventure game"! Which I believe is both an appropriate comparison and worthy of a chuckle. The service was prompt and courteous. We were given options to choose either the 2-meat option with 6-a la carte tapas to choose from (each), or the unlimited option. We went the route of each ordering our own 2-meats. We each chose a variation of Wagyu beef cuts, chicken breast, pork belly, and premium pork options for our respective 2-meat orders. We chose the roasted tomato and pork broth options for the soup, mild and non-spicy respectively for the spice options. As we waited for the soups to arrive, we proceeded to select our tapas to add to or adjoin our hot pot entree. The tapas offered are extensive and include a variety of greens including kale, purple sweet potato, assortments of mushrooms, vermicelli, udon, ramen, iterations of tofu, aromatics including chives, ginger, garlic, and plenty of sauces. The choices left me feeling resplendent! The tapas were chosen, artfully and dutifully. We were ready for our sumptuous soup slurping! It was delicious! We all enjoyed our meat selections and the tapas provided many twists and turns to our hunger-inspired adventure. The story evolving with each passing minute, as the soup and its story revealed its ever increasing rich flavor, the water evaporating slowly as the intensity of our added characters of meats and sides created tension and release for our main characters, our taste buds! It sure was a grand story. The meal's adventure came to an enchanting ending as we were given the option of either vanilla ice cream or a small glass of coconut Jell-O. Both provided a delightful resolution to that evening's quest. The belly's dragon being tamed, we claimed victory with the aid of Fiery Hot Pot!“

“Brought parental units here for a weekday late lunch. The environment is chill, food was good, service was warm and friendly. | Ambiance | There's ~8 table here, with benches for seating; each table can comfortably seat 4-6, possibly more with kids. The restaurant is bright and delightfully decorated. | Food | Given this was our first time here, we ordered two #1 Original: one with shrimp, one with beef. The meat/bone broth has been cooked for hours and has a delicious depth to it. We had regular noodles (imported from Yuana) in one and kale noodles in the other. Both were delicious. The bridge of toppings that come with each order of noodles, albeit gimmicky, was fun and added texture to the dish; atop the bridge were corn, preserve vegetables, yuba, goji berries, ham slices, a shrimp, wood ear strips, chives, and a quail egg. The protein ( slices of beef and shrimp) came out raw, along with noodles on the side, and piping hot broth for us to cook everything in. All in all, a very satisfying meal. We also got the tofu + ground pork cold dry noodles and a wood ear appetizer. The dry noodles were unique and I liked the tofu flavors in them, though I still preferred the version with broth. The wood ear appetizer was good - vinegary and had a little kick. | Service | The manager/owner (?), having learned that this was our first visit, welcomed us and shared her recommendations. It was clear she's passionate about the food and takes pride in their offerings. She and the other waitress were both great in ensuring we were well taken care of; service was quick. Despite this being a restaurant that has been opened for only 5 months, everything is operating smoothly. When the bill came, I opted to pay with a credit card. These days, the tip portion of the credit card workflow at restaurants can get quite confusing, often ranging anywhere from 15-25% or more. Unlike other restaurants that default tip to 18% or 20%, I appreciated Oodle defaulting theirs to 15%. For that, and for the delightful service, I was happy to increase the tip to the next tier up at 18%. They earned it!“

“Ambience 5/5 - A super chic and modern restaurant. There is residential parking around the area so it's not too difficult to find a place to park. The actual restaurant is pretty sizable and looks really nice and modern! - there are tables and also booths to sit in. The only thing to note is that the floor tiling can be slippery if it's wet/rainy outside. Service 5/5 - you can sign up for the waitlist by walking in and signing in on a tablets. I believe you can also be put on the waitlist through Yelp. Overall, the servers are pretty young, but it's very responsive and helpful! Nelson was fantastic and took the time to explain the different soup bases and sauces! They were also really proactive with offering soup, base refills, and water refills! Food 5/5 - high-quality meats, yummy options of spicy/non-spicy soup bases, but the star of the show... was the SAUCES Omgosh. Amazing. Made everything soo soooooi good! We loved the crunchy spicy (had pumpkin seeds and peanuts in chilli oil), and the green sauce stuff! Mushroom sauce came in a close second. We also tried the Spicy butter (spicy, and beef fat... tasted AMAZING with the ramen omg), Tom Yum (was alright, but pretty tangy, not surprisingly), and the Sichuan spicy. Perhaps will try the miso next time :) Overall a really, really great experience (approx cost $35 per person) We will be back again !“

“Growing up, one of the fondest memories I have of going to dim sum with my family was getting to check out all of the carts of food that would circle around from one table to the next. The heightening anticipation of what was coming next followed by the sheer excitement to see that it included one of the dishes I wanted? Unbeatable! Which is just about the only bad thing about Dragon Beaux - seemingly not a single cart to be found. Yet, as much of a bummer as that is, it doesn't seem so bad when the food is this good! Now, if you've ever been to Koi Palace in Daly City, the food here should look pretty familiar, as the two are sister restaurants (though, the concept here is a bit more modern). Similarly, just the general feel of this place is also a bit nicer, but really, it's all about the food which is fantastic! Since the menus are formatted differently, it's hard to say for sure whether or not the offerings at both places are entirely the same. However, the majority, if not all, of your usual dim sum staples (and pretty much all of my personal favorites from Koi Palace) are here - from your standard Shiu Mai and Ha Cheung Fun (Shrimp Rice Crepe Roll) to their Crispy Roast Pork Belly, Baked Char Shiu Bao, and Xiao Long Bao. Not only that, but everything tastes just as good, if not better, here! -- (#1101) SHIU MAI - Pork & Shrimp Steamed Dumplings Not the best I've had, but really good. The pork is always juicy and has a great, porky taste to them. Plus, the pieces are always pretty meaty, though not in a heavy sort of way. -- (#1104) HAR GOW - Shrimp Dumpling More solid than spectacular, but there's nothing wrong with that. The filling isn't super plump, but it's decently flavorful (the shrimp has a nice sweetness) and the skin is perfectly soft and tender. -- (#1301) SHRIMP RICE CREPE ROLL In the best of ways, this is pretty standard. I've had a lot of hit or miss types, but this is pretty consistent. The shrimp are fairly sized, the rice noodles have a nice bite to them, and the rolls are bigger than most I've had. -- (#1817) JIN DUI - Fried Red Bean Sesame Ball We don't always get this, but it's one of my favorites. The balls are crispy and golden brown while the filing is so, so good - the texture isn't thick/gloppy nor is it super sweet either. -- (#1501) CLASSIC STEAMED BBQ PORK BAO Their Baked Pork Bao is better (see below), but this is still pretty good. The bun is pillowy soft and the filling is super meaty. Plus, it never seems to have those tough tendon pieces and the sauce isn't overly sweet. -- (#1108) XO SPINACH DUMPLING It's somewhat similar to Har Gow, but better. The shrimp is good, and I like what the spinach adds, but it's the XO sauce that won me over - it just made everything even tastier! -- (#1207) CRISPY ORGANIC MILK ROLL I don't often get this (more because I don't see it), but this was fantastic! The batter was super crispy yet not all that oily and the inside was milky and piping hot. And did I mention it's quite tasty? Loved this. -- (#1412) ROASTED PORK BELLY A little pricey for the portion, but so delicious! Every time I've had this, it has been perfect - super crispy skin, not a lot of fat, and ridiculously juicy. I just feel like an idiot for not having a photo... -- (#1512) BAKED BBQ PORK BAO Amazingly, I don't have a photo of our other must get either! The filling is just as good as the steamed one, and I love how soft and golden brown the bun is, but it's the topping that must this so good - so flakey and flavorful! Besides how awesome the food is, the other thing that I like about Dragon Beaux is how surprisingly good the service is. Rather than the typically short, "move it along" type of vibe at other places, the workers here are actually relatively friendly and even joked with one of my friends. Plus, everything moves rather efficiently, from getting tables set up to the food coming out, so even when there's a line (which there always is unless you are“

“We've eaten here a few years back, but this is the first time leaving a review. We wanted something a little different and not just pho, so we opted for this spot. We got there around noon and there were a a bunch of empty tables. Most of the booth tables were taken though. Just so you know, they give complimentary soy milk served hot or cold, but you have to ask for it. I think only old timers/regulars know about this. My bf got a hot soy milk and I chose hot tea. We both ordered noodle soup. #3. NG HIEP KY WONTON HO FUN SOUP: Flavorful soup with seafood, liver and wonton dumplings with medium flat rice noodles. The noodles are not the typical Chinese ho fun that is really wide. It's like linguini sized rice noodles. They give an average amount, but good enough to fill you. I don't care for liver, so I didn't eat it. But everything else was good! They also have a shrimp on top that's been fried with batter. I grabbed that first since I'd rather have it crispy than soggy. 4/5 #12. BRAISED DUCK LEG HO FUN AND EGG NOODLE SOUP: BF had this and enjoyed it. Tasty duck and having both kinds of noodles bring an interesting taste and texture. Not many places have this dish or in this area of SF. 4/5 All around a decent spot for a quick lunch!“

“Mission Chinese is a delicious hidden gem in the Mission District of SF. Their menu has a lot of "classics" with intriguing twists, such as beef broccoli but with brisket or sour chili chicken with potato. The service was prompt, albeit slightly curt, and the food came out quickly. I really liked the two mains that we got but didn't love the smashed cucumber. The dragon hanging from the ceiling was a nice touch as well. Would certainly recommend to anymore wanting some interesting Chinese food in the Mission District in SF!“

“We go to Boiling Hot Pot atleast 1x/month. It’s our go to spot for almost every occasion whether happy or sad. ? We went here for my wife’s graduation and for when I had a bad day and needed a venting session. We almost always get mango soju. My mother-in-law and I always drink unfiltered Sake when we all got together. It’s like a family tradition now.We usually pick out 4 favorite soup bases (Tom Yum, Red Pepper, Green Pepper, and Tomato). We LOVE their sauce station! It’s so customizable but my favorite is their first recommendation. My wife loves their green sauce and their mushroom sauce with spicy chili garlic. We always order a bunch of vegetables and wagyu beef. We always leave super stuffed and so satisfied. Unfortunately the only downside is the time limit of 90 mins which leaves you feeling rushed. I will say that the restaurant really only enforces the time limit when there is a large wait. Otherwise they are very nice and flexible.Would definitely recommend for any occasion. We’re probably going to go back soon.“

“Another one of our go-to places in the neighborhood! We come here whenever we're craving some good hot and sour soup and mapo tofu. The portions are large and the pricing is reasonable; we always have leftovers to take home. My husband always likes to get the 酸菜肉絲麵 (pickled mustard greens and pork noodle soup), and I order a slew of vegetarian dishes for us to share: mapo tofu, hot and sour soup, the chongqing spicy noodles (no dandan noodles because they have chicken broth), and the spicy stir-fried cabbage. The mapo tofu is always perfectly done -- tofu is never broken, still really silky and tender, and the mala chili oil sauce is always this beautiful, bright red. I'm not ashamed to say that I can literally eat almost the whole plate by myself. Hot and sour soup is probably one of the best I've had in the city. A lot of restaurants are lazy and just throw a ton of corn starch to thicken the broth and make it look good, and don't give you anything more than a few slices of tofu (or pork) and maybe some shiitake slices. Sichuan Tasty's hot and sour is done with care; there's woodear slices, shiitake, bamboo shoot (typically too expensive or time-consuming for most restaurants to care to add), and thinly-sliced tofu. The size of each of the cut ingredients is consistent and even, which shows that the chefs have great knifework. The broth is always the right amount of acidic from the black vinegar, and spicy from white pepper like it should be. The chongqing spicy noodles are always very satisfying too -- the noodles are always QQ and the longer they sit, the more of the tasty sauce they soak up. Sometimes I like to throw the mapo tofu on the noodles instead of eating it over rice and it's so good. Cabbage is always crunchy, fresh, and smoky from the wok-hei. Service is always great: we've always felt welcome and taken care of here. The food also comes out SUPER fast. We've rarely had to wait more than 5 minutes for the first dish to come out. I remember sitting at the table listening to the sounds of the kitchen -- the turning on of the flames, the clanging of spatulas, the sizzle of the woks, and the sound of the burner being turned off and food being plated. This all happens within the span of 1-2 minutes at most, which is exactly what you'd expect for good Chinese.“
