“This was our third time dining at Eigikutei and we were just as pleased this time as we were with our maiden experience. We were favored with our personal favorite of the sushi kaiseki Yawaragi (10-piece sushi). All the separate elements of the course melded perfectly for our palette. “This place is very chill and clean, with a self-serve bar for miso soup, ginger, wasabi, tea, and water. But I'm stopping in the middle of eating to write this review specifically because this is the best nigiri I can ever recall having!“

“Located in K-Town, I’ve been hearing a lot about this spot that specializes in yubu (inari) sushi — rice stuffed in a sweet tofu wrap with different toppings. I came pretty close to opening time on a Saturday, and it was already busy. Parking can be a bit tricky depending on the time of day.

I ordered the spicy salmon, lemon salmon, torched salmon, mentaiko crab, king yubu, and spicy tuna. They were all pretty good, but my favorites were the lemon salmon and torched salmon. The lemon really helped cut through the sweetness and richness of the yubu, and the torched salmon had a nice toasty flavor that made it stand out.

The pieces are decently sized and come packed with toppings, but they run about $6 to $10 each, so you’d probably need three or four to feel full. I like the concept and presentation, but the yubu itself does get a little too sweet after a while. Still, I’d definitely come back for a quick snack or to grab a few for a picnic or road trip.“

“Finding 715 Sushi already feels like part of the experience. You wait outside a gated wall, slightly unsure if you’re in the right place.

The omakase itself is incredibly. Every piece was fresh out and balanced. What stood out to me most was the rice, seasoned with a blend of soy sauce and rice vinegar rather than just vinegar alone. It gave the nigiri a more savory backbone. Nothing tasted rushed or careless; each bite felt deliberate.
The dish I haven’t stopped thinking about was the chestnut egg dish (likely kuri tamago). It was absolutely stunning! Soft, subtly sweet, and nutty. The flavor balance was beautiful and unexpected, and it ended up being the most memorable bite of the night for me.

Service was attentive when it came to refilling drinks and tea. The staffs were polite and accommodating. This experience was very thoughtful, refined, and well worth the drive.“

“Sushi Zanmai has great sushi and other dishes. They also have hot dishes. The place is just so pretty and the seating is comfortable and inviting. Make a reservation as it will get crowded at night.

Everything is just so fresh and filled with flavor. The tuna is my personal favorite. But I also love their hot dishes. Their rice is great and I love rice so I have to have it.

Their menu is on a pad which I don't like, but they deal with it.

The prices are high, but such is the cost of great fish these days. They have great combination plates that the whole table will love.

As to the service, it is fantastic. the entire staff is welcoming and will help you with the menu if you need it. They are fast and super helpful.

It makes me think of my grandmother as this was always a treat me and her would go and get just the two of us and share with no one else. It was like our place and being a family and seeing a family and speaking like family all my life I just love this place. I always want 16-20 pieces half and nori and inari.“

Delicious. Vert flavorful. And the best part about this spot is that it’s not in the crowed Dtla area. It’s on Cesar Chavez and with plenty of street meter parking. Very manageable. I will be back.“

But the star of the show was, without a doubt, the Tuna Lovers plate. If you are a fan of tuna, this is a must-order. The quality was exceptional, especially for a conveyor belt-style restaurant. It featured a beautiful variety of cuts, from lean, clean-tasting akami to the rich, melt-in-your-mouth fatty toro. Every single piece was incredibly fresh, had a great texture, and was served on perfectly seasoned rice.

After trying a handful of other places we came to Sushi HON and knew immediately that this was the one. The fish is extremely fresh, the rotating menu of rolls is diverse and consistently high quality, the prices are totally reasonable especially for this city and their garlic edamame is probably the best I’ve ever tasted, but what really sets this place apart is the service.
