“The best vegan food Best ever service-our family go to for family events and every day dining ❤️”
“Delicious breakfast! Found Conchita by chance on way home from airport. We were starving and the “Los Dennys” (pancakes, eggs, bacon) was fantastic. Great friendly service. Love the cute coffee mugs and attractive table settings.”

Thank you Marta for your excellent service, the food was amazing ?! Marta keep the smile on her face ,even that I was a super busy day she was making us feel happy with her service! A big plus ,for the restaurant for having people like Marta!”

“We travelled from Maryland to experience San Francisco, found this local restaurant within walking distance of our hotel, and decided to give it a try. It was well worth it! The staff was accommodating, attentive and very friendly. The food was exceptional! If you haven’t tried Mediterranean cuisine or love it, this is the place for you!”
“Very friendly staff and delicious food. The variety is great! Definitely a go to place if you like Sushi 🍣 🤙🥇”
“The best Shabu in San Jose and located in the perfect part of San Jose in Japantown, we love coming here to eat Shabu, it is so delicious. I highly recommend it *****five stars the owner Richard treat’s us great with so much hospitality, we just feel so welcomed and will continue to frequent his establishment.”

“The best food i have ever have. The Kurdish guy was very very very extra very kind. When he knew that I am from Kuwait and spoke Arabic, he invited me to have tea and kunafa with ice cream and stuffed with saffron. The kunafa was very delicious. I really recommend this restaurant.”
“The food here is good and so is the coffee. They offer açaí bowls, breakfast options, and a bakery that is completely Brazilian. So if you’re Latino and want to try something different from the usual spots, this is a great choice. The dishes are very healthy and while this location doesn’t have an espresso machine, so coffee options are somewhat limited, what they do have is tasty.
If you’re planning to order by phone, make sure to call ahead as it can get pretty busy and your order might take a while. Overall, it’s a good café, affordable, flavorful, and a nice break from the typical spots. If you’re in the mood for something non-traditional, give it a try.”

“I'm a sucker for old-fashioned diners, the ones that seem stuck in time, stubbornly holding on to nostalgia when it was king in its glory days, back before chain restaurants and cookie-cutter decor and brands.
They hold a special allure when you're traveling down the byways where they still thrive, but they're especially precious when you find them in urban areas where they compete with fast-food conglomerates.
So I don't take places like Gunter's for granted, an old establishment (South San Francisco) in the midst of urban blandness of homogeneity. They're still places where old men gather swapping tall tales and spar politics over Farmer Brothers coffee brand to while their time away.
This genre seems to be a fleeting gem of Americana as I see many of them boarded up and closed down even along the blue highways. So in your travels, take a moment to patronize these places before too many of them disappear as victims of people's preference for national brands and indifference.”
“I just had a chai tea latte with almond milk and a breakfast croissant sandwich (egg, cheese, avocado, tomato, lettuce) at Antigua Coffee Shop. The ladies here are so kind, the Christmas decorations are everything, and they’re playing Christmas music. If this is your favorite holiday and you’re in the city I’d check them out. 10/10 I’ll be back to try the banana French toast and omelettes.”
“Villa del Sol specialty is the Argentine asado (Argentine BBQ), I highly recommend their grill asado for two. It comes with a variety of meat, chicken, pork, sausages & sweetbread.”
“Excellent pizza, will try again. Pizza crust is authentic, masala is fresh.”
“We stopped here while waiting to catch our flight because we had a while. It was super chill and a fun place. They had old pinball machines that we played and the ambiance was very cool and relaxed. Food was so yummy. Got the flatbread pizza and some fries to share. Very satisfied.”

“Place was not that busy on a Memorial Day Monday, so I was able to order my food right away and the food was not that expensive. Worker who took my order was very nice. Food came out quick. Got a Carne Asada taco that was delicious. Didn’t even take a picture because it jumped in my belly. Burrito was decent, good flavor but I wish they put more meat in it. It was packed, but I found myself trying to conserve the meat to make it last for other bites. Salsa bar was cool with the huge selection to choose from. Other than that, I would come back and definitely order more tacos.”
“We were pleasantly surprised with this place. There is a nice variety of foods available here. The overall ambiance is nice, with several somewhat private places to conduct business meeting. There is a pool table and other tabletop shuffle board. Service was great. Orders can be placed at any number of touchscreen kiosks. When your order is ready you will get a text. Sit anywhere. We definitely need to explore having our admin meeting here next time. Definitely will be back.”
“Maybe I some how summoned it, being a fan, but that's the first time I've seem abthsinth at a bar. Guy didnt even know what I was talking about. Asked me questions. First time he poured it. Truly a full bar.”
“Kamu Sushi in South San Francisco is a cozy, small gem that really makes every visit special. Their beer and sake is top-notch and pairs beautifully with the meal. The extra spicy edamame is a fiery delight, while the seafood options like lobster and mussels are impeccably fresh. The nigiri and Spicy Spider Roll round out an unforgettable culinary experience. A must-visit for an intimate evening of great food and drink. Cheers!”

“Living just two blocks away, I made it a weekly ritual to dine here, and it remains my absolute favorite spot for street tacos. While I miss the salsa bar, a casualty of the pandemic, it was heartening to find the tacos tasting just as delicious as they did six years ago during my recent work trip. It's reassuring to see that this gem is still thriving.”
“Speedy's is our go to for the occasional Pizza crave. Huge slices with high quality cheese make this place a I go back to every few weeks. We usually get the veggie pizza and we love it (which is rare for me to say). Service is good and fast...just order and wait in your car. The only detail they could work on is consistency of flavor. Usually its the the salt but thats an easy fix.”
“The pho, noticeably fragrant. 20 hours of simmering evident in the deepness of taste, buttery from the marrow drawn from bones. Clean and translucent broth, an indicator of quality. The wait time, a result of perfectly boiled-to-order rice noodles. What’s missing in decor is over-compensated by taste. Come for a rare-find bowl of solid noodle soup — no frills, but very simply delicious.”
“Stopped by The Anecdote at Oyster Point for some drinks and bites after work—great spot! The bar has a cool vibe with awesome bay views. I had the mushroom empanadas, sliders, and a local beer—they all hit the spot. Chill atmosphere, friendly staff, and solid bar food. Definitely a gem if you’re in the area.”
“Italian food in a bank? Yes, delicious Italian food in a bank. Everything we ordered was super delicious. The complimentary bread dipped in oil and vinegar was a great start. We ordered the roasted brussel sprouts drizzled in balsamic vinegar for an appetizer and it did not disappoint. For our main courses we ordered the rigatoni alla carcareta and the daily special of lobster ravioli with shrimp. Both were equally delicious. Dessert consisted of creme Brule and tiramisu which we both loved. This place is a must try and we will be coming back.”
“I've been staying and working in South San Francisco this week without a car. Have dined there for lunch 2 days in a row now, and both days I also brought back dinner to my hotel for the evening. Everything has been delicious with fresh ingredients. Really creative and elevated offerings for a quick service restaurant. The salmon was especially amazing! I had 2 really dismal experiences earlier in the week with Doordash and only wish I had tried Foundry & Lux sooner. I'll be back tomorrow before heading back home on Saturday 😀”
“I like this place. Basic, no frills, Hawaiian BBQ. My favorite is the Shrimp Noodle soup. Large bowl of veggies' shrimp and super hot broth. Noodles on the side in the to go orders. Such nice noodles. Cooked perfectly so they finish cooking when you add them to the hot broth. Highly recommended. All of the other Hawaiian BBQ dishes also on the menu. Not much on atmosphere though.”
“Been going here since i was in the service the bartenders r great drinks r good. I just hit 60 an seen a lot of places come an go i hope the bar goes another 100 yrs so city tradition!”

“I can’t say enough on how much my teen daughter loves coming to this iHop, when I have to work in this area. My first experience here at this iHop was about a year ago and I swore I would never come back due to a very rude waitress who was so dismissive and gross (rolling her eyes, speaking over me when I would speak, dirty flatware and never came back to check in on us).
But that all changed when I had a late working meeting and my daughter wanted breakfast food so I said “well let’s try this iHop again because it’s open late.” Well I’m glad we did. This time we had an amazing waitress by the name of Patricia or Patty I believe. She was so amazing and friendly. She made my daughter laugh and smile which was amazing because my daughter was having a bad day. This woman really left an impression on my kid and that meant the world to me more than she knows. The food is so so and the dining atmosphere is pretty nice. Again thanks for the great customer service Patty and we will come back again due to you turning our experience around into a great one.🤗”
“It is a Denny's, food is never bad. Service was good. The place was busy but still delivered. The waiters were great. It is really hard to judge any Denny's, there is nothing really special but at the same time it never disappoints and the food never makes me sick. When in doubt, go to Denny's.”

Takeout Restaurants
“I don’t normally give 5 star ratings but feel this place deserves it. It’s a hidden gem in downtown South San Francisco that serves authentic, unpretentious Salvadoran (and Mexican) food. The pupusas (we had the ones with pork, cheese and beans) were absolutely delicious and inexpensive. They go well with the house coleslaw and the mild chili sauce. The Salvadoran enchiladas (more like tacos) were very good as well. The best part of this restaurant is the staff, who are warm, generous, and kind. They really make you feel this is neighborhood place. We will definitely return to sample more items on the menu.
Parking: Paid street parking in front of the restaurant”
“The best Shabu in San Jose and located in the perfect part of San Jose in Japantown, we love coming here to eat Shabu, it is so delicious. I highly recommend it *****five stars the owner Richard treat’s us great with so much hospitality, we just feel so welcomed and will continue to frequent his establishment.”
“I had a pastrami on dutch crunch bread and provolone cheese. All their sandwiches are great and I really like their garlic mayo. The also have an area that makes burgers, fries, onion rings, things of that nature. They also have good assortment of chips and drinks. great place for lunch”
“This food truck is worth a stop if you're wanting delicious tacos, tortas, and burritos. I have not been disappointed. They offer a variety of drinks including a strawberry horchata. I appreciate the fast and friendly service and delicious Mexican food. Atmosphere rating technically doesn't apply.
They generally park in a shaded area, so you can wait for your food in the shade.”
“Don't normally right reviews but I came out of town and needed a quick bite to eat. Came here and it was a great experience. Food was awesome and the lady that sat me was so friendly and cheerful to me and everyone there. Got the Cajun pork dumplings and Kung pao Chicken.
Will def come back again if in town.”
“I've worked with BTB and Feda many times now and I'm never disappointed. Excellent variety to fit all dietary restrictions. Flavorful, nutritious options. And super communicative, clear, and easy to work with. I'd recco Beyond the Border to anyone planning a casual, fun event.”

“A very good place if you like Italian breads and baked goods. I usually buy at least 3 whole focaccia bread every time I visit. My favorites are pepperoni, artichoke garlic, pepperoni and sausage, pesto, and feta cheese and garlic. The breads are tasty with the aroma of spices, cheeses they use and freshness of the bread. They rotate the ingredients so it never gets boring. I also love the jalapeño bread rolls, ham and cheese croissants, cookies and pastries. I never had anything I didn't like here. A small family business with a big heart. You can see lots of repeat customers always telling you what they always buy. Give them a try and you will become a regular...”
“The cupcakes tasted delicious, especially the Dulce Salted Egg. They were spongy, moist, and right level of sweetness. The ube latte is a must. I tried it without boba or coconut jelly because did not want these toppings to influence or override the drink. Very satisfied!”

“The nachos with carne asada and a michelada! That is a perfect meal.
Vegetarian options: There are vegetarian and seafood options.
Kid-friendliness: We come with our grandkids and the staff is welcoming to us.
Wheelchair accessibility: There are no steps and the restaurant is at ground level.”
“We invited Red Sauce to cater a staff appreciation party and it was delicious! Great meatballs, salads and pasta. Chicken Parm was excellent as well. Will call them again for future events...”

“This is the place to get a Great Deli Sandwich. They also serve burgers too. They have a great salad bar as well. It's in an industrial park area off of Harbor street, so parking can be tight. I will definitely hit this place up again when I'm in South San Francisco near the airport 😃😃😃”
“I was seated right away during lunch time and it wasn't too busy. My favorite and reason for my visit was to have the torikawa (chicken skin skewers) I also had the Bento with the shrimp tempura and shioyaki salmon. Everything was delicious 😋 I almost forgot to take photos as I was hungry lol... price was also reasonable.”
“Love The Hangar and so happy it opened as I’m lucky enough to work next door. Everything I’ve ordered so far has been high quality and tasty. I’ve tried the salad bar, tuna melt and japchae noodles. I find the prices reasonable for the area and quality. The entire space is very well decorated and designed. Can’t wait for the bar to open upstairs, check out the upstairs patio too. Oh also the coffee bar is really good too, thanks Eugene!”
“We have been enjoying meals here for over 35 years. Their food is like going to our abuelitas house to eat. We no longer live nearby but I will still come here because it just doesn't compare to other places. There's a reason why they have been here for so long. Everything on the menu is great without the fancy prices other places charge 😃”
“I had the Cabeza quesadilla and it was 🔥🔥🔥 the best cabeza I've ever had and I've had my fair share of good one's even some great one's... but this one is hands down the best I've ever had 🤤🤤🤤 definitely will be back! Thank you to the cooks and the customer service 🔥🙌🏾💯”
“The supermarket is small but very full of practical household goods. For example, here there are a lot of fruits, almost all types of fruits, from cheap to expensive. Other necessities such as food and drink are also adequate. In general, if you go to this supermarket for a meal, it's full of meat, fish, vegetables, rice, bread, butter, and milk.”
“FOR DRIVERS. This place is tight but very doable. Come in from north so building is on right. Long trucks will not have enough room to get the truck straight with the trailer on the dock. Your truck will be at a 45 to the trailer on the dock. Once unloaded, pull forward and setup for a straight back to get out of the lot and sight side back onto the street. The dock worker will be happy to block traffic and guide you out. I'd be happy to deliver here again.”

“Amazing craft roasted coffee. Owner Marcel and the baristas always take time to tell you about the roast and suggest a blend. If you're familiar with Ikon from a farmer's market, it's definitely worth a trip to the cafe, which is located in the roastery. The pour-overs (only available at the cafe) and the chill atmosphere make the cafe my favorite go-to coffee place.”

“Good chicken tenders - piping hot and crispy. Fries are sorta meh - not crispy enough and a little too thick for my liking. Dipping sauces have nice variety and the Star sauce and truffle aioli were both delicious. Ordered from a kiosk so basically no human interaction.”
“Oh my goodness. Such a gem in the rough. Amazing food in the middle of an industrial area. I'm an old fat white guy, and the meal defeated me. For the first time in a long time, I needed a doggy bag. The Shawarma were delicious as were the pickled veggies and cole slaw. The Arabic coffee was to die for. So rich and thick!”

“I ordered a big mac and a dr. pepper, and the sandwich was really good. So were their fries. The workers were very friendly, treated my boyfriend and I nicely and respectfully, always with a smile on their face. Great spot to sit outside and feel the cool air. One of the nicest looking McDonald's i've seen. Lots of people though, it was pretty busy inside.”

“Flavas Jamaican Grill is a true hidden gem in South San Francisco, conveniently located near the airport and hotels. While the restaurant is small, and parking can be a challenge (you might need to park down the street), the food more than makes up for any inconvenience. I highly recommend ordering ahead, especially during the evening, as the space can get crowded with customers and delivery drivers. If you're dining with a family, the limited seating may not be the most comfortable, but the incredible food makes it worth it. The jerk salmon is the star of the menu perfectly cooked with a smoky, tangy heat that melts in your mouth. It's hands down the best salmon I’ve ever had, with flavors that are bold yet perfectly balanced. The jerk chicken is also a standout, and the sides like dirty rice and plantains are the perfect complements, creating a delicious harmony of flavors. If you’re feeling adventurous, don’t miss out on the oxtail or the wings both are packed with rich, authentic flavor. Pair your meal with one of their imported Jamaican sodas or a ginger beer for a truly immersive experience. As someone from Fresno, where Jamaican food is nonexistent, Flavas has been my first and only Jamaican food experience and it has set the bar incredibly high. The flavors are vibrant and comforting, giving you a true taste of Jamaica. Other patrons rave about their curry goat and daily specials, which I plan to try on my next visit. Whether you’re a local or passing through South San Francisco, Flavas Jamaican Grill is a must visit for anyone craving bold, authentic flavors. Just be sure to plan ahead for seating and parking, and prepare to be wowed by the food! Food: 5/5 Service: 4/5 (due to limited seating and busy atmosphere) Atmosphere: 4/5”
