“Have eaten here twice, once for a late evening take-out, and once for a sit-down on a busy Sunday afternoon. Takeout was super tasty, and although the wait after ordering was about 25 minutes when we dined in, you can't rush perfection!“

“We always enjoy getting Mountain Slice whether it's for the pizza, the ice cream, or both! Make sure to call early in the day to place an order for dinner as they get very busy and sell out. Today we ordered the tie dye pizza. I am allergic to tomatoes, so I ordered it without the vodka sauce and extra pesto. Had a little miscommunication on my end about the sauce, so when we picked it up it had a tomato sauce base. We explained what we had thought we ordered and the two guys working quickly made a fresh pie. Very thankful that they were so accommodating. The pizza was delicious with pesto as the base sauce! The dough is the star of the show. We've enjoyed both the regular style and the Detroit style pizzas here. Would love if they started doing some pizzas with other base sauces! Love that they are starting to do late nights with more arcade games, late night pizza, and beer. I think that's super fun and will draw in a cool crowd. Great option since nowhere else is open late. Go get the best pizza on the West Shore!“

“Little Truckee Ice Creamery made our wedding cake, and it was absolutely perfect! We loved how gorgeous the ice cream cake was, and appreciated Kenny’s attention to detail with our decorating requests. Our guests LOVED it! This is some of the best ice cream we have ever had and could tell that it was fresh and made with quality ingredients. I highly recommend getting an ice cream cake from Little Truckee Ice Creamery, and I hope we have the pleasure of visiting the store when we return to Tahoe.“

Coffee was good, service was also a bit slow for a coffee shop with 2 people working and 2 customers, but everybody has slow days so I wouldn’t knock them on it. “We came here for lunch on one of our days in Truckee. We don't drink beer but we ordered some other drinks that were amazingly delicious. For our appy, we ordered these shrimp bao buns that were super flavorful. I ordered the bratwurst hotdog and that was yummy with a healthy helping of sauerkraut and two types of dip - cheese or grainy mustard. To be honest, that bratwurst wrapped in a pretzel bun could stand on its own without any dips...OMG! so good that u still remember how it tastes nearly a week after our trip. My husband ordered the turkey burger and that thing came loaded and he said it was one of the best turkey burgers he's ever had. “I work in Olympic Valley and have eaten here many times. I love it! I get a pepperoni pizza with pineapple. Yes I think pineapple goes on pizza. It's delicious. We also order from them quite often for our Sunday group lunches for our staff.“

“Here's the low-down: 1. Food - There's a lot of attention to detail here; there's fresh baked bread, there's Gumbo made daily, there's fresh fries. This is not a place that embraces canned / frozen foods. The medium rare burger I had was perfect with fresh fries and (seemed like) a freshly baked bun. My one complaint was the first cup of coffee; it tasted a little burned, but we were there late in the day. Also, I'd have rather seen a smaller menu featuring only what they do best, but that's my preference. I did not hear any complaints from anyone else while I was there. 2. Service - It was busy, and it's a coffee shop; you're not here to have a Maitre d' experience. You're going to get the friendly coffee shop vibe that borders on overly familiar. If you're not used to this, it might feel uncomfortable, but stay with it, you'll expand your horizons. 3. Ambiance - Wagon train doesn't try to be what it's not; it's a coffee shop with some fantastically crafted food. It feels like a locals-only gem despite its location in the middle of the downtown area. This is a rare gem where corners are not being cut; this kind of place is rapidly becoming a lost bit of Americana, definitely get in there and taste it while you can.“

I get to swing in to pick up my Meatless Monday's 3 course meal, and dinner is done for the night. Perfect place to go after picking up my kids from sports practice and know I've got a gluten free, locally sourced and tasty meal to feed the whole family. I buy organic and local myself, and enjoy supporting businesses that do the same.“

“We stopped in after a stroll around the lake with our baby and posted up on the outdoor patio. We were greeted warmly and received delicious recommendations for both beer and the lunch menu—spot ON were the Cali common beer and their amber. And the food…SO delicious! Dan Dan noodles are not to be missed, they have a beautiful Szechuan influence and kale, we devour every bite. They grind the meat for their burger in-house and you can taste the goodness between the havarti and arugula. Love coming here every visit!“

“We had a great meal at Stella. The food is elevated and yet the ambience is casual enough for kids. It's also very close to downtown Truckee so very convenient. We ordered the hamachi crudo (staff favorite) which was an excellent starter (with mushrooms, avocado and some additional elements i can't remember - the fish was a tiny bit fishy but the flavor and preparation made up for it), the little gems salad with sundried tomatoes and croutons, the eggplant dip with focaccia, and the sea bass entree. It was all really delicious, and just the right amount for two of us. The kids ate off the kids menu - the fish of the day (grouper) with fingerling potatoes and broccolini, and the pasta with pecorino and added chicken (an entire sous vide chicken breast!). Both were successful options. The ambience is open and bright with the big windows, but not as cozy and romantic if that's what you're looking for. Also it did take nearly two hours for our meal as the restaurant seemed a bit short staffed. We can't complain though since they were willing to move us up to a 6 pm.“

The carrot cake cookie was so moist. Coffee tastes good, service was friendly. Would come back if we’re in the area again.“

“I built my own sandwich and I felt the price was very reasonable. Everything is made to go but there is a space to eat there. There's also a water station by the place where you pick up the coffee, which I used to refill my water bottles. It's also a little grocery store which is convenient. Also the gallon of water from the grocery section was $5 and the water bottles were around 3-5 bucks each from the fridge in case you're thinking of buying water like my friends and I did.“

“Few things to keep in mind is that this place is not super visible when trying to find it near the waterfront so look for the BBQ restaurant and it'll be inside. However, you can sit outside and enjoy your drinks with a view! Service is decent and you can tell this place gets pretty busy especially during a football game day. Love that the outside is dog friendly and appreciate the turf grass and dog bowls. I can't rate this place by the food because we didn't eat here but I will say it smelled good. Parking is free but I believe 3 hour limit.“

“The inside is totally cool. When we got there, they were busy. They had one dude at the front and woman behind the bar. Turned out she was bartending and serving. She was slammed but totally kicked ass. The buffalo mac balls were hella good and not too spicy. My son had the fig and brie grilled cheese. I had whiskey burger. Daughter had Salmon BLT. “I visited River Ranch on my ski trip out West from NYC. I went with 4 other friends of mine and we had a nice dinner. The service took a little while to first attend to us when we sat down such as getting water or acknowledging us. But, we had a nice time. Everyone enjoyed their meals and my lamb shank was super amazing. I also had the best sweet potato maple cheesecake in my life here. It was close to the mountain where we stayed and I would return given the opportunity.“
