“The signature dish is the crab in sauce, which comes in medium and large sizes. medium is two crabs with two bowls of rice, and large is three crabs. Compared with other Korean restaurants, the sauce crab taste is mild, and it will not be salty enough to explode in the middle of the meal and cannot continue to eat. The crab is fresh, not fishy, and the meat is firm, not squishy. The crab meat is also very full, the crab legs are full, there is no empty shell crab. The sea urchin rice is a little smaller but the sea urchin is enough. regular sea urchins are not particularly sweet, but they are fresh and worth the price. The sea urchin Rice bowl combo will be served with steamed eggs, runny eggs and two prawns in sauce. Raw marinated salmon rice is amazing to me. The salmon is marinated just enough to be flavorful, but not overly salty. The portions are generous. You can eat two bites of each piece of salmon.“

Great selection of small plates, including aguachilies, cerviches and crude. as well as large sharable plates. We had the Branzino, which was prepared perfectly. Great vegetarian menu also. “After many visits over the years, this was the best ever! The oxtail dumplings are to die for, as was the peach & tomato salad. Duck breast was as good as any- perfectly cooked. I only order crostata’s when in LA as nobody else can make them this good. Maybe wasn’t quite as great as their old sister restaurant, Santa Monica Yacht Club, but was close. Also have to mention the service, we remembered our waiter from years ago as he was also outstanding.“

The food is really delicious
Cocktails are also delicious.
There is some cilantro in the pasta, but even I, who can't eat cilantro, can eat it comfortably, but if you don't like it so much, you will have to ask for it to be left out.
But when I went, there was a karaoke stage going on, so the atmosphere felt like a place where old men sing.
I think it would have been really nice if there were jazz or country songs.
I recommend it because I think the food will suit Korean tastes well.“

From the first bite of the ceviche mixto (which might actually have world peace potential) to the last, it was a full-on flavor fiesta. And let’s talk about Jesus—our server, not the Jesus, though honestly, the service was so divine I started questioning things. He was so attentive I half expected him to read my mind and bring me dessert before I even asked.

Speaking of dessert, the leche asada was the sweet, creamy finale I didn’t know I needed but now can’t live without. Between the food, the music, and Jesus making sure I was living my best life, I left full, happy, and already plotting my next visit!“

“Yama has become one of my favorite sushi shops. I first tried the K-town location and later discovered this one. Yama consistently offers fresh sushi, and this location is no exception. It's slightly smaller than the K-town location and tends to be more crowded.“

Kevin, who was in charge of our table, provided attentive and courteous service, and his recommendation of the Miso Chilean Seabass was even better than Nobu’s. I was particularly impressed by how Kevin and the floor manager consistently checked in on our meal throughout the dining experience. Their willingness to listen to even minor feedback was something I had not encountered in any other buffet, which left a lasting impression.

“It’s no exaggeration to say this is one of my favorite places to buy seafood of all time. I grew up in Boston eating seafood, lived in Seattle eating seafood, and used to shop at Santa Monica seafood (no shade to them, they’re a solid choice). The only downside is this place is tiny so it’s on-the-shelf selection is limited. But it’s seriously good at very reasonable prices. Plus, if you want to secure something in advance they’ll arrange it for you. Incredibly helpful and knowledgeable folks!“

Overall, while a little expensive, I definitely felt we got the meal we paid for, and right in the middle of the Grove! The great drinks and tres leches cake were also delicious and very well made. “Asked for a view in a 3/4 empty room, was told 2 people couldn't have the corner seat. Was offered an inferior view so we left. Bad business to turn away a couple over seat preferences. We have never been to a Bubba Gump Shrimp restraunt before, will never return either. Too bad. Went across the pier to Seaside on the pier and have an excellent view.“

When we got to Santa Monica, we looked up restaurants to go have our 26 year anniversary dinner, we stayed at Hotel Delmar right across the street. We googled the restaurant menu, and decided what we were going to have. when we got there, and they brought out the menus, all what we decided to have was not on there. I was crushed. Because I had my mind set on the Halibut. I said it's ok I will just have the Ribeye, mind you I had a ribeye steak the night before. When the waiter came back, my wife asked if it's possible to get the Halibut and he said let me check with the chef. He came back later and said the chef said it's no problem. I was blown away. That was the best Halibut ( besides mine) that I have ever had. Thank you chef Shawn. From one chef to another, thank you. you made my night.“
