“Hands down the best pho spot around. I’ve been here four times now and it never disappoints. Since I have a pretty big appetite, I always go for the classic combination bowl with all the meats, plus I add a bone and two poached eggs—it’s unbelievable. For appetizers, you can’t go wrong with the spring rolls or egg rolls, but the absolute hidden gem here is the fried chicken. A lot of people skip it, but it’s super crispy on the outside and crazy juicy on the inside.
The prices are super affordable, making it perfect for eating with friends or big group dinners. The servers' English isn’t the best, but honestly I don’t mind at all—that’s just how you know it’s legit and authentic. The inside is decent, though heads up: the restroom is way in the back, so it might be tricky to find if it's your first time. I come here all the time, constantly recommend it to my friends, and it’s always my go-to spot when family comes to visit. Highly recommend!“

“This pace is my go-to for banh mi (vietnamese sandwich) and pho in Tustin. This restaurant has been here for a long time and for good reason. The sandwich always has fresh ingredients and they grill the meat upon order, unlike some chain restaurants that have them prepared ahead of time. The pho is delicious too and priced well. I've never had a disappointing experience at this restaurant.“

“Came here on a Tuesday around 6pm. Customer service was excellent, the host was very attentive to each of the guests. After ordering, I probably waited max 5 minutes for my order. I got a size small which was more than enough for me. I saw on other reviews, they give generous portions and it was true for me. What I really liked was that my noodles came already separated within the broth so that I didn't have to break it up. I prefer it that way because when they come more compact, it tends to give off a flavor in the broth and makes the overall soup not as hot. I appreciate the attention to detail they had and even separated the cilantro for those who may not prefer it.

The restaurant had plenty of tables along the walls and in the center to accommodate for parties larger than 8 with plenty of booster seats.

Overall, the restaurant was very clean and relaxing. It satisfied my pho cravings especially since I don't have the time to drive or want to wait long lines. I'll be coming back to bring my family soon!“

“I’m guessing this restaurant is a Vietnamese fusion.
Chicken pho - solid.
Prawn vermicelli noodles with fish sauce. The prawns were a bit overcooked so hard to peel but seasoned perfectly and huge! I didn’t enjoy my noodles as much as the prawns because I’m not a fan of this restaurant’s fish sauce. It’s lacking complexity… a bit of sugar and acid in their fish sauce would improve this dish tremendously.
House wontons - solid. Delicious on its own. Well seasoned so it doesn’t even need the sweet chili sauce that in came with In my opinion .
Eggrolls - meh. They smelled strongly of fish sauce. I would skip it if you didn’t grow up eating fish sauce; it stunk! What’s worse is the sauce that came with it is fish sauce too! I grew up eating egg rolls seasoned with salt to taste without a dipping sauce so this recipe is new to me.
Kumquat tea - it’s kumquat syrup so it tasted weird and overpowered the jasmine tea. I mainly tasted lemonade and the kumquat syrup. I should have asked if the tea was made from fresh squeezed kumquat juice, silly me… 🤦🏽‍♀️ skip this!
Fast service. Fried food arrives HOT so let it cool down first!

Personally, I don’t think I’ll be back, as the pho didn’t quite justify the price for me. That said, their business model is nice and efficient, catering well to the busy lunch crowd. “Locally owned and situated on Marine Drive on Balboa Island with friendly staff. Our favorite is the shrimp spring rolls with homemade peanut sauce and for a hearty meal the pho filet mignon. For a nominal price upon request they will steam a plate of filet mignon for your furry friend. My minature goldendoodle Violet loves it!“

I suppose every restaurant has its own unique way of making it, but this version missed the mark for me in a couple of ways. The flavor of this dish was a bit salty. The eggs were severely burned on the bottom, which took away from the overall meal.
If they can fix the burning issue, this could easily turn into a decent, enjoyable dish. It’s entirely possible I just picked the wrong item to start with, since it might not be their specialty. “KJB Pho & Egg Rolls is a small, unassuming Vietnamese cafe on Newport Boulevard that has quietly become one of our regular lunch spots.

The dinning room is simple, but there’s a warmth to it. The owner and her staff always greet you with a smile, and that same sense of care seems to carry into the food. Ingredients are noticeably fresh, portions are generous, and even familiar dishes feel a little more considered here.

I’ve worked my way through the pho, flat noodles and several of the banh mi. The barbecue pork sandwich is the one I keep coming back to: a substantial French roll, fresh ingredients and consistently good pork.

There’s a steady stream of takeout during lunch and dinner, and depending on the day, sometimes we grab ours to go and sometimes we stay. Either way, this is one of those small neighborhood restaurants where being welcomed genuinely adds something to the experience.

“Only reason for 4 stars is that they do not have an option to have your fresh meal made with gluten free soy sauce. Most Vietnamese, Thai, Chinese, Japanese restaurants do. Even Le Colonial. Many options have rice or rice noodle which is naturally gluten free. Can't keep a $6 bottle of Gluten free soy sauce in the kitchen? My husband had very little options. Seems a small concession when food is so good. We wouldn't return for this reason.“

“I have been eating here since 2002 while still in high school. First time ever eating Pho here. These 3 Viet guys from my classes introduced me to Pho at this place. Been going here whenever I’m craving Pho or Viet food in the Irvine area. The most flavorful Pho broth out of any Viet restaurant I’ve ever ate in California.“

“I’ve tried both the dry and soup versions of the hu tieu here, and I enjoyed both. Each bowl comes with plenty of toppings like shrimp, pork , ground pork, fish cake, and quail eggs. You can also choose different types of noodles. The broth is light but flavorful, and if you order the dry version, the soup comes on the side.
The prices are very reasonable, and I think it’s a great value for what you get.
The restaurant is pretty small with only a few tables, but I’ve always been able to find parking even though the parking lot looks limited.
The only downside for me is the business hours. They close at 4:00 PM, which is just too early. I often get off work and want to stop by for dinner, but they’re already closed. Maybe they’re mainly focused on the lunch crowd, but hu tieu is something people enjoy any time of the day. I really wish they stayed open later.“

This is a family-operated Vietnamese restaurant. There’s something satisfying about a Vietnamese family running a Vietnamese restaurant and putting their own personality into the experience. No giant conglomerate. No mysterious restaurant group with 47 locations and a logo designed by committee. Just good people, good food, and the kind of personal service that makes you feel like somebody actually wants you to be there.

Jenny is the superstar. ⭐

She has that rare hospitality superpower where you somehow feel like a regular even if you’ve barely been there long enough to decide what to order. She brings energy, warmth, and personality to the place, and frankly, if restaurants had MVP awards, Jenny would need a bigger trophy case.

Fortunately, the food gives her plenty to work with.

The shaken beef, waterfall chicken, vermicelli, garlic noodles... it’s all there.

The menu is extensive without making you feel like you need a laminated flowchart and a graduate degree in Vietnamese cuisine to navigate it. There’s enough variety that everyone can find something to lock onto.

And don’t overlook the drinks. Tea? Yep. Coffee? Absolutely. Smoothies? It’s all there.

The location is convenient, too. You’re close to Angel Stadium, the Honda Center, ARTIC train station, and, of course, just down the street from the Mouse House itself. So whether you’re catching a game, going to a concert, hopping on a train, or surrendering several hundred dollars to Disney’s Donation Farm, Non’s Kitchen is sitting there waiting to rescue you from theme-park food.

Bottom line: Non’s Kitchen has the combination that’s getting harder and harder to find—genuinely good food, a big menu, personal service, and a real family behind the restaurant.
