“This place is always crowded!! Came here recently Sunday afternoon, right when the bar opened at 4pm so we got a table in the bar area to eat/drink and watch the football games. There’s always a wait for a table at the restaurant, so plan accordingly, especially if you go for dinner. They have the big beer towers if your group wants to share. Full bar with lots of alcohol/cocktail options. Great food dishes were: Ốc Hến Bánh Đa (baby clams and escargot with rice crackers), Ốc Len Xào Dừa (coconut escargot), Ốc Saté Bơ (saté garlic butter escargot) and Cơm Chiên Crawfish X.O. When I was last there to purchase a TOGO, there was big table of 12 ALL DONE eating, just sitting there chatting and wasting time and restaurant space.. in the meantime, staff would walk back and forth asking if they needed anything, do they need the check, etc. there was a long list of people waiting too. “Been trying to try out different banh mi shops all over OC to give smaller shops and different businesses my service. Found this place on Yelp nearby the area we were in. The man who's probably the owner was very nice although he didn't speak much English. He knew enough to take your order though. They have different bakeries on the counter and even a refrigerator full of cold goodies as well. I even saw frozen egg rolls to take home to fry yourself. I ordered 4 special dac biet banh mis at around ~$6.50 each which were decently priced because they're overpriced here in San Diego and very much so in Hawaii at $10 each which I recently got back from vacationing. I also grabbed a bakery item on the counter that looks good. I don't know what it was but it had a salted duck egg on top. I asked the man if it was sweet like a dessert and he said no but I'm not sure if he fully understood me. We ate the banh mi the next day since we always buy to bring back home. After refrigeration and microwaving it was still delicious and the bread was very soft and fluffy and not because it was soggy or anything. I should have taken a photo of the inside of the sandwich I ate but I was too hungry and forgot.“

“I've been on a personal mission to find great tasting vegetarian and vegan/plant-based Vietnamese food and I'm super glad I found Thien Dang. I've only ever ordered from them on Grubhub but it's never been disappointing. My husband and I have tried quite a few of their banh mis, and I think their beef is my favorite one! I haven't had real beef in about 4 years now and theirs satisfied my craving - love the lemongrass on it. I also recently got their version of a combination broken rice and I liked it, but didn't love it. The shredded pork had a good texture and taste and so did the spare rib, but the bean curd pie left something to be desired. Also, the daikon and carrots weren't actually pickled which is weird since it's supposed to be Đồ chua. I let them sit in the fish sauce for a while and then added it to my rice and it was alright then. Their bun Bo hue (not pictured) was okay, it wasn't the best but it did the trick. The broth was very oily though and I wish it had more veggies or things in it and a stronger lemongrass flavor. I also wish they had given me extra saté like I requested because that would've definitely helped.“

They do bring out extra additive I.e. srracha, hoisin, and fish sauce from the refrigerator.Meats were filled with an over abundance as the bowl is offered in one medium sized bowl.Meat ball - airy meatball with a slight bounce to the chew.Texture of the meat wasn't too chewy nor gamy at all.The overall experience is very pleasant, however you may feel hungry soon as usually pho doesn't curb an appetite for long. Not a big fan of curry so I wouldn't be able to give an honest review on their best seller.“

Everything was seasoned very well and the veggies were all fresh! They even offer a vegan egg roll for those who do not eat meat, which was also very delicious. “Upon walking in, you'll most likely get a whiff of the hot butter from the sizzling plates from diners. If they have their doors open, it's most likely due to the dining room being smokey from the plates. They offer a variety of meal options but I think they're mostly known for their sizzling plates and beef dishes. Our group had the com bo luc lac (shaken beef with rice), com suon cuu nuong sot bo toi (lamb chops with garlic butter sauce and rice), and com ribeye sot bo toi (ribeye with garlic butter sauce and rice). Even though we ordered all dishes with the red rice, there were other options to choose such as white rice, fries or bread. I'm not exactly sure what's in the red rice to even describe it. I wasn't a big fan of the red rice but to all their own.The lamb chops and ribeye were presented on a sizzling plate with a side salad with vinegarette dressing. Lamb chops were tender and ribeye lacked flavor. The star of the meal was the bo luc lac. It was also tender, shaken with plenty of sauce, and had chunks of garlic. It was absolutely delicious! The plate also had a side of watercress and onions that complimented the dish well. It was so good, our table had to order another. Portion-wise, I'd say it's a single serving. You may not want to share it with how delicious it is.Service was great, too. Now, I saw another reviewer mention this, so I will too. Just FYI, their drinks are served in small styrofoam cups. They do charge $0.50 for water. It's not a deal breaker but I guess some people may not like it. I'm assuming it's the charge for the cup itself.“

More notes: - we had 25 tables, which meant we qualified for free cake from Long Phung bakery (and a few other things like the name logo on the floor, fog machine during first dance, champagne tower, flowers on the table, apple cider during the champagne toast) - They allowed us to have 1 bottle of cognac on each table plus beer in the back (they set up a fancy cooler for us) with no extra charge - We were able to ask for meal substitutions, since we wanted more variety on the menu rather than just all seafood. Kevin was very honest with us about what was good and what he didn't recommend. - We had pictures on a slideshow playing on the 2 big screens. - The bridal suite had a lock (combo), was great for me when I needed to change clothes or put away valuable things like red envelopes!“

“We ordered both the first and second pho on the menu. The difference between them was just the size. The first one was huge and the second one was smaller but still filling. The pho was delicious and they gave us many beef slices. I was so thirsty when I got there but they charge for water so I ordered the lemon soda instead. I was worried that it would be super sweet and taste very artificial but it wasn’t, it was actually pretty good. My friend ordered the passion fruit drink and I thought it was a bit too sweet. Overall, it was really good and I would love to try their other food.“

The sauce was pungent and sweet. I loved it with the meat and fresh herbs. Def will be back to try other bun dishes.“

“Great food but the crowd can be a bit rowdy for families. Great place to grab Vietnamese bar food and some drinks. The coconut snails and steak is my personal favorite and keeps me coming back. Get a fried rice and use drizzle in some coconut snap sauce, it'll be the best thing you've tasted all month.“

“I never tried pho here but only order pho satay. I just had to give some comments. First pho satay here is good. I order from here and the one at Torrance. The Philippino guy who married the wife there is nice. Anyways, March 28, I ordered two pho satay and asked if I can I can sample pho soup. I tip generous here even though I'm not eating here. She said, you can't try since you don't order it. She said it in a rude way. Probably not going to come here again because of that. Pretty sure she's the owner or related to the owner.I'll just order from the sister side restaurant instead.“

“we decided to try this restaurant yesterday as it was their "grand opening." this restaurant is really spacious and clean, but definitely understaffed. the hot stone pho was pretty good and fragrant 4/5. the meats on the side were good quality and tender. they give A LOT of tripe. the hot stone bowls kept the pho hot for the duration of the meal, and the broth was still smoking when we were done eating. the fried soft shell crab was just okay and it was served with sweet chili sauce, 3/5. the saltado fries were not saucy enough for me and the rice was too dry and bland 3/5. overall a 3.5/5 experience.“
