“I met my friend for breakfast yesterday morning at 8:30 am. Since it was so early, we were able to grab a four-top table on their patio, just outside of the open-air, stylishly beachy restaurant.

We both ordered coffees, a latte and an Americano. She had the overnight oats bowl, which looked delicious and filing, and I had the avocado toast on sourdough. So fresh and good!

The staff were very nice and friendly, and this is a great, laidback place to have breakfast.

There is a large parking lot in front of the restaurant; paid parking only.

“The food was very good. I dined solo and had chicken liver mousse, the yellowtail crudo, the peach and tomato burrata salad, and the crab cake. The mousse was rich and interestingly paired with pickled blackberries and honeycomb. The crudo was delicious with the refreshing citrus. The salad too felt very fresh and like I was holding on to late summer. The crab cake was good, the sauce had a nice balance of spice and sweetness, it was very salty which is not unexpected with crab. The service was kind and attentive. I was very pleased with my experience and would return again if I'm back in Santa Monica.“

The Aloo Tikki was crispy and perfectly spiced, the Chana Chalupa was a fun twist, and the Noormahal Lasagna was something I haven't seen anywhere else. The Veggie Fun came out at exactly the spice level I asked for, and they were happy to swap in garlic naan. Everything was well cooked and the flavors felt genuinely authentic, which is hard to find in LA.
The service really stood out too. The staff was warm, attentive and super sweet the whole night. You can tell they care about their guests. Highly recommend Roots Indian Bistro, and I'll definitely be back.“

We used to have a fire table like yours, so dining here always carries a sense of home. Last night we brought friends, and they said, ‘This makes it hard to go out to eat in Monrovia—our restaurants cut corners with cheap ingredients and fast turnover.’ What your chefs create is the opposite: dishes with not just incredible flavor but extraordinary texture and detail. We ordered the Japanese pizza, which came burnt on the bottom, with very little cheese and unappealing arugula (even when we requested extra parmesan, they brought a minuscule portion). The warm olives were unpleasantly bitter, and the spaghetti was completely average. To make matters worse, the venue was overwhelmingly loud, and the crowded middle tables leave zero privacy, making it feel like everyone is seated together. Definitely not returning“

“The signature dish is the crab in sauce, which comes in medium and large sizes. medium is two crabs with two bowls of rice, and large is three crabs. Compared with other Korean restaurants, the sauce crab taste is mild, and it will not be salty enough to explode in the middle of the meal and cannot continue to eat. The crab is fresh, not fishy, and the meat is firm, not squishy. The crab meat is also very full, the crab legs are full, there is no empty shell crab. The sea urchin rice is a little smaller but the sea urchin is enough. regular sea urchins are not particularly sweet, but they are fresh and worth the price. The sea urchin Rice bowl combo will be served with steamed eggs, runny eggs and two prawns in sauce. Raw marinated salmon rice is amazing to me. The salmon is marinated just enough to be flavorful, but not overly salty. The portions are generous. You can eat two bites of each piece of salmon.“

“I called Slice&Pint last night to order some pizza. Since it was 9pm, the guy said that they were not taking orders anymore for whole pizzas, but it was still possible to have some slices.
I ordered some and drove there right away.
When I got there, I added some extra slices and all the staff was really nice updating my order.

We reheated pizza at home and everything was great.
We got some cacio e pepe, pepperoni and carnitas. 9 slices for about 30 bucks. Highly recommended!

They normally use for the special sauce for their Chicken Masala. The secret sauce is like nothing Ive tried before. It's sweet with hints of savory, ten stars!“
