“Highly recommend Happy Morning. Met a couple of friends here for a nice family style dinner. The service was very quick and staff was very kind and welcoming. The place is tucked in a corner of the Vons plaza by Rite Aid, on the other end of the plaza to other eateries, popping yolk, four seas, boiling point. The food was nicely portioned, perfect for family style and everything was fresh and very delicious. The decor was modern and very clean. 5 adults and 2 toddlers left very full and satisfied with left overs to boot. We tried a variety of veggie, noodle soup, fried rice, half chicken and everything tasted great. Growing up in San Gabriel/alhambra this place reminded me of the spots I grew up eating at, now I have a great food spot not far from the house. Can't wait to come back!“
“Hainan chicken was really good! We also ordered seafood fried noodles and seafood fried rice. The shrimp was pretty fresh. They were kind enough to accept our special requests for reduced sodium. The staff are very friendly despite being busy.“
“(Translated by Google) Ordered the day before yesterday, Farewell My Concubine, I don’t remember taking photos until the food arrives. just! There is also his watery fish soup!(Original)前日订咗,霸王别姬,好食到出嚟先记得唔记得影相。正!仲有佢个水鱼汤!“
“We went here for breakfast. The portions were generous, and the food was tasty. I had the hot milk tea, and it was really good. They also have free refills for drinks as well, which is not standard practice in most places. Will definitely return.“
“Tried it for the first time last week, and I have to say, it’s quite authentic. Delicious. Thinking about returning again today with my family. Ordered the string beans with beef the first time. Rice was perfect. Service was good. The coconut jello desserts was good and so was the iced lemon tea. This is Cantonese style food for the most part. Plenty of parking. Place is tucked away in a small plaza. Place is clean and modern.“
“Very good food. Dim sum options are made to order, the serving size of the dim sum dishes are somewhat larger than others. Crispy stuffed chicken is actually shrimp/pork stuffed between fried crispy chicken skin. Black truffle friend rice is excellent too. Friendly staff. Location is somewhat hard to find because from the outside it kinda looks like a motel. Indoor decor has a Spanish cafe feel to it, which seemed odd, but who cares it's great food.“
“We love this restaurant for dim sum and regular meals. The Chinese broccoli is bright green, tender and tasty. The beef tenderloin is melt- in -your mouth delicious ! My favorite is the steamed turnip cakes (dim sum).Wheelchair accessibility: Easy to bring in wheelchair“
“Indulge in a culinary adventure with three new standout entrees: Hainan Chicken, Sizzling Beef Tenderloin, and Baked Tomato Pork Loin Rice. Each dish is a masterpiece of flavor and texture. First up, the Hainan Chicken, a beloved classic that never fails to impress. Tender poached chicken, imbued with subtle hints of ginger and garlic, rests atop a mound of fragrant, fluffy rice. Next, the Sizzling Beef Tenderloin takes center stage, promising an explosion of flavors with every bite. Juicy strips of beef tenderloin, seared to perfection, sizzle enticingly on a hot skillet, releasing mouthwatering aromas that tantalize the senses . Last but not least. Succulent slices of pork loin, baked to tender perfection, are nestled atop a bed of fragrant jasmine rice, infused with the sweetness of ripe tomatoes. These entrees promise a dining experience that transcends expectations. From the classic simplicity of the Hainan Chicken to the bold flavors of the Sizzling Beef Tenderloin and the fusion delight of the Baked Tomato Pork Loin Rice. Highly recommended for anyone seeking a memorable dining experience.“
“The red bean puff is so delicious. This is a really good dim sum place I’d highly recommend it. It is now one of my favorite places and I can’t wait to go back. The prices are also very reasonable. Best custard bun I’ve ever had. I did miss choosing the dim sum from the carts though.“
“Even if the interior needs a lot of work, the food doesn't. The roast pork is divine! So crispy on the outside and juicy and tasty on the inside. Dip it into the hoisen sauce, and it's perfect. I couldn't try the char sui because they ran out the day I went (late). I will try it next time with the roast duck. It's $21.99/lb for the roast pig. It's well worth it. I also got the eggplant shezwan style, dry string beans, salt & pepper rock cod fish fleet, and clams with black bean sauce. All of it was superb, not too salty, as a lot of Chinese food can be. This is my new go-to Chinese BBQ place from now on!“
“My review is mainly on the food cause we all know service is not always going to be amazing at these types of restaurants haha. I come here pretty often with my parents because it's so close to my house. The food is almost always a hit with a few exceptions here and there but for the most part, we always leave pretty happy and with leftovers haha. I will say over the years, the portions have gotten smaller but that's not surprising considering how expensive things are getting. Food is always fresh and comes out relatively quickly“
“This is my favorite place to eat in Rowland area. The food is always on point. I believe it's one of the best Cantonese cafes in all of SGV. My favorite item to order here is the mushroom truffle pizza. Their pizzas are so good. The dough is crispy on the outside but nice and chewy on the inside. They use enough cheese and are generous with the mushrooms. I also love their fillet mignon and shrimp as well as their chicken steak meals. All the food is really fresh and quick. They are packed every day during lunch and dinner times so definitely try to come early and get a seat!“
“Haven't been here since remodeled. Prices are good based on the area, and no need to pay tips because almost everything is self serve. However, service is ok but not every employee has good service. Food is good, and you have to self serve soy sauce or chili sauce etc. Porridge is still an excellent and big portion in my opinion. I like the Pork Chop and the black pepper sauce is the perfect match, and pork chops are not dry. Probably a place will come back for brunch.“
“Came here for family dinner. Best HK style food around this area without a doubt! The decor was nice, the food was delicious with generous portion and the service provided by John(not 100% sure if that was the correct name lol) was outstanding. He was friendly, and made excellent recommendations. We'll definitely be returning soon!“
“Decided to visit to this spot-on Thanksgiving Day 2023! Honestly, not sure what to expect, as soon we walked in, we were happily greeted and seated right away! I noticed there were a ton of to go orders. Partner and I were craving our typical Chinese food orderSalt and Pepper Calamari – Crunchy, seasoned well, not too spicySzechwan Eggplant – hint of spice, stayed hot (temperature wise) the whole timeBeef Chow Fun w gravy – Tender beef, flavorful noodsDuck – typical, very good except, it came out room temp.BBQ Pork – Typical and just like the duck – room temp.If you are in or near the area and can’t get to Alhambra or Rosemead, let’s say you live in Whittier, City of Industry, Avocado Heights then this is your spot. =)Missing star – I was quite surprised at the price of 2 Bbq item combo $31? Check out how small the portion was.“
“UPDATED November 2023Shame on me for not updating my review because this place still rocks! They brought back more dim sum dishes and the service is still friendly & attentive! Was sad after they changed the menu and took out some of my kids favorite dishes but now they brought it back and yep it is better than the rest of other place in the area with better quality you can taste!“
“Major selling point of authentic taste, and that promise was mostly delivered.Three dishes are excellent, better than anywhere else, and will return for more:Shredded chicken has very good texture and excellent flavor. No ginger dip provided because it's already mixed in.Beef offal has sweetbread (pancreas ) , tripe and stomach. Very good flavor and good sauce.Lamb hotpot is very good to excellent, miso dip will persuade people who don't like the lamby gamey to love it.Three are recommended, but similar could be available elsewhere :Stir fry pork liver has good temperature control resulting in good texture, but the sauce is a little heavy for my taste.Long beans with minced pork was good to fair.Hot pot rice was fair. Good flavor but I want more crispy burnt rice at the bottom.Only dish I don't recommend is the noodles in Peking sauce. The flavor was off, not what I expected. Also tried beef offal rice noodles soup. Good to very good. And the serving is huge. Best buy.The steamed egg white desert is fair to good. Not too sweet. The chef has a tendency for bigger flavors. Perfect for anyone who does not like blandness. Overall strongly recommended.Vegetarian options: A vegetarian section available on menuDietary restrictions: Ask before ordering. Not impossibleParking: Large strip mall outdoor parkingKid-friendliness: Fair to good kid friendly. Not much hazard . Saw families dining. Didn't ask for or seen high chair.Wheelchair accessibility: Ramp to curb, swing glass doors. Fair spacing between tables and clear lane to toilet“
“A very ok standard Hong Kong style noodle and jook place. The rice rolls were soft and silky, very delicious. The wonton noodles broth was not super salty but still umami. The wontons were fairly large with a visible bite of shrimp inside. I probably judged this bowl unfairly as the memory of wontons in Hong Kong is still fresh in my mind last week, but the noodles itself is soft and doesn't have that springy wonton noodle texture. Service is super chill and was just one lady when we were there. The menu is pretty simple and straightforward. I probably will come back to try their congee and other stir fry dishes.“
“One of the best places for dim sum you could hope for. Line around the building waiting for it to open. Every table filled shortly after opening and more people waiting outside. Get there early. Luckily my coworker arrived 15 minutes before opening and we were first in line.“
“We got the chow fun, baked pork chops rice and bubble waffles. Loved the baked pork chops and bubble waffles but was not a huge fan of the chow fun. The baked pork chops was delicious and really hits the craving for me. The sauce was both flavorful and hearty and it went great with the pork chops and rice. The bubble waffle was crispy on the outside and very soft on the outside, very addicting to eat. The chow fun was a bit too oily for me, which is common for this dish, it didn't come with beef I believe it was extra, I wish we ordered beef with it because only the noodles itself was too much.“
“Went in today to try them out. I'm new in town and Chinese restaurants are the first places I hunt down when I'm new to a city! This place didn't disappoint! Every single thing we ordered was perfect!!! Thank you, Cindy! Your place is the best!!!“
“Nestled in its modest space, Mr. Champion invites patrons to savor the essence of Cantonese cuisine with a menu that may be succinct but is rich in authentic flavors. The small size of the restaurant doesn't hinder its service; on the contrary, the staff's attentiveness adds to the overall dining experience.During our visit, we sampled the BBQ pork rice roll and the fried rice noodle with shredded pork. The culinary magic unfolded as each bite revealed a symphony of flavors, highlighting the skillful use of the wok, resulting in that coveted wok hei essence. The dishes were not only delicious but also a testament to the restaurant's dedication to maintaining the true spirit of Cantonese cooking. The rice rolls, while undoubtedly tasty, did leave us wanting more due to their petite portions. However, the quality of the ingredients and the expert execution compensated for the size. It's worth noting that Mr. Champion is an excellent choice for those seeking an authentic Cantonese breakfast or lunch experience. The simplicity of the menu ensures a focus on quality, making it a haven for aficionados of comforting Cantonese cuisine.“
“Please ignore the reviews around 2 years ago, now it is a total different restaurant, they only dedicated in rice noodles. This is one of my top choice of Guilin style rice noodles in town.Very delicious Guilin rice noodles, rice noodles can be added for free, eat as much as you can but don’t waste it, there are very spicy chili, you can challenge it“
“I have visited this restaurant multiple times with my boyfriend, and every time the food has been consistently great. The wait times can be a bit long, but the delicious dishes make it worth the wait. However, during our recent visit, we encountered an issue with the service. When my boyfriend went up to pay, the waiter took it upon himself to enter his own tip without allowing my boyfriend to input the amount. It felt unprofessional, as the waiter did it quickly to prevent my boyfriend from seeing how much tip was added. My boyfriend always leaves a generous tip wherever we dine, and we felt that the waiter's actions were inappropriate and disrespectful.“
