“I was in the parking lot and starving! Didn’t want ramen since it was so hot, so I went with a curry chicken bowl instead. It really hit the spot! The bowl had fried chicken, curry, and pickled radish—totally unexpected but awesome. The server was great, and since the place only had about three tables inside, I managed to beat the lunch rush. The ambiance was fantastic—small and intimate, kind of like being in Japan!“
“I had a couple of rolls (tuna avocado roll and colorful roll - one simple to try the basics and another for something that seems to be their own) from this great new spot. Both were very good. The sashimi appetizer was also delicious. The service was impeccable, and they listened regarding our dietaries. That was helpful. Parking is tough, being near Colfax work and neighborhoods (based on time of day I suppose), so note that. I will be coming back to try some hibachi and perhaps donburi. I can't wait.“

“Delicious omakase, elegant ambience, and friendly service. Dragon ball theme cocktails were a fun touch. Cool, modern spin on bibingka and very tasty too. The menu is priced higher but for special occasions and as far as quality goes, worth it. Had a really positive experience overall.“

Oh my flerpin gerd on the food. The ramen. So warm and cozy and full of joy and vibrance. Could help anyone to the worst of times.
And then the sushi, the nagiri. I hadn't had such fresh teaching seafood since I was on the beach in Mexico years ago.
And that one where they get that smokey flavor with the torch!??? So much flavor making a little party in my mouf.
Thank you thank you thank you. I need not and won't ever seek out another Japanese restaurant. I've found my home.“

“Mugi’s ramen is delicious. I don’t eat pork or shellfish and there are options you can remove or modify which is greatly appreciated. The music is fun and upbeat and Pan’s service was impeccable for a quick dine in. We were walked through the menu very thorough and it was pretty great. Glad we checked it out!“

“Ordered a handful of different rolls for dinner. Fish tasted pretty fresh, rolls were a good size.
We personally didn’t like the Hawaiian roll— the flavors were kind of overwhelming & the pieces of fish felt too large for a single bite. It was probably just personal preference as there was nothing wrong with the roll!“

“I'm so thrilled to see the DOMO is back open. This is one of my all-time favorite restaurants with some of the best food I've ever enjoyed. Entering the restaurant feels like passing through a magic gateway into rural Japan where you get to savor authentic country cuisine. Whether you're eating solo, on a date, or bringing the family, don't pass up an opportunity to enjoy everything the DOMO has to offer! I'll definitely be stopping in the next time I'm back visiting Denver.“

“We love Kobe An and have been patrons going back 30 years since they were in Lakewood. Marco has done an amazing job with the new -er location and his staff is well trained. His newer sushi chefs are doing a fantastic job which leaves him free to focus more on the front of the house. We told him tonight that the sushi is the best it’s been in the 30 years we’ve been going to his restaurants. The hamachi and mussels were outstanding, as were the rolls and cocktails. The new Kobe An is the real deal.“

“Cannot believe I haven't had Taki before! Really really great sushi for the price I was shocked. Spicy gyoza is incredible and some of my favorite I've had. Fish is fresh. For a not super upscale spot I'm super impressed. Presentation is great.“

“This is my favorite sushi spot in Denver. Across the board, it scores highly in all the metrics I consider to define a good restaurant.
Coming from the coast, I was tentative about the quality of fish to expect, but I was pleasantly surprised. The yellowtail is delicious, and the eel in the Rock N Rolla was very well prepared. The richness of the Takoyaki (octopus balls) reminded me of Dutch Bitterballen. I had a Sake martini as well, which was very light and flavorful. The collection of sake is something I plan on diving deeper into in the future, and the entire menu is adventurous and exciting.
The service was impeccable. Food came out promptly, and appetizers, drinks, entree, dessert were all precisely placed and delivered exactly as they were expected to be. Occasionally I feel rushed at restaurants with prompt service, but the food all arrived in a timely manner with proper temperature. The server learned my and my parties names, referring to us by them for the rest of the evening. I got good recommendations from him for the menu, and tried the quail egg (uzura nigiri) and salmon roe (ikura sashimi), which were both delicious. When I mentioned that I was curious to find my places with a similar vibe, he got a napkin and wrote me out a list of his favorite restaurants in the Denver metro. I don’t know if I’ve ever had service at a restaurant that was so professional, efficient, and personal.
The atmosphere was exactly what I was hoping for. Upon entering, you’re presented with a wall of customers’ sake masu, a personalized container from which to drink sake. The soft chatter of conversation gives an organic vibe while natural wooden hues lend the space their tranquility. I sat at the bar, where the chefs prepare the courses in front of you. Trying the various sashimi and nigiri, after watching them be prepared, reminds me of omakase without the steep price point. I was looking for a romantic place to catch up with a friend, and I don’t know if a better place for that exists.
Tokio is a hidden gem, and discovering it felt like striking buried treasure. It’s charm and soul remind me of the hole in the wall restaurants I grew up with in New York, and was sorely missing. I will certainly be coming here more.
Tokio is affordable, charismatic, and delicious.“

“Here you will find authentic delicious Japanese country cooking. Having eaten all over Japan I can say there is a very big difference between Americanized Japanese food and authentic classic Japanese cooking. While the interior is dated and not necessarily attractive, it makes no difference to me because the food takes you away to Japan in your mind and you forget about all else.“

“Visiting Denver from out of town. Stopped in for some lunch. Was seated immediately and allowed to pick out our seat. I tried the Tokyo Shoyu ramen which was delicious. Everything was cooked well. The waiter even accommodated my request for an extra piece of Bok Choy which im sure was a unique request. Next time I'm in town I'll be sure to stop by“

“I really like to eat ramen, and this place is definitely stands out with their quality. They brought a beer with a cooled glass and ramen was just right - spicy enough, with meat chunks not being too fatty. I would definitely come back here.“
