“Starbucks across the street from Catholic University is super convenient for students, especially since they’re open every day from 5:30 AM to 7 PM. The large seating area is great if you're between classes or need to get some work done—there’s plenty of space to spread out.

This location is usually pretty busy, and I’ve had a few instances where my advanced mobile order wasn’t ready when I arrived. The staff says it’s because drinks sometimes get stolen if left out, which can be a bit frustrating. Overall, the staff is helpful, though they don’t always go out of their way. The drinks themselves are fairly consistent, just like at any other Starbucks, so you know what to expect there.“

“This is a much better location than the Grand Hyatt across the street. It’s very spacious. There’s a large wall counter with outlets to get your work done. Friendly service. Big clean restrooms. And the iced coffee was brewed fresh and strong during my visits.“

“Oh my gosh I seriously bought an espresso and was about to give up on Starbucks completely although I’ve been a loyal customer 13+ years. The two in the Navy Yard kept disappointing me, and my last pumpkin spice latte was a mess. I swore I wasn’t going back. But since it’s winter, I decided to try one more location… and wow. 2800 Alabama Ave SE completely changed my mind. The customer service was amazing everyone was upbeat, funny, and full of energy, even early in the morning when I was half asleep. Their vibe LITERALLY lifted my mood. The line looked long but moved super fast, and honestly, I’ll happily drive the extra 14 minutes across the bridge to come here. It’s worth it. And the guy with the dreads? He’s Hilarious! His energy was perfect and he seriously makes everyone smile. I hope he’s at least a manager because he was that good. This is officially my new Starbucks. Best team ever.“

“Very nice place to take a break on JBAB.I am not a coffee fan. I have friends and family members that are, very much, coffee fans. That means that they like Starbucks. So I have been to many Starbucks over the years. I wanted to put that in context before I said this. This is a very nice Starbucks! It is located on the north side of the parking lot from the Exchange on Joint Base Alexandria Bolling. It is a corner store and has large windows along the front of the store. The inside of the store has limited seating options. It has a tile floor and a slatted wood counter There is a single large tall table in the center and some seats along 2 walls to the left as you enter. The store was very inviting and clean. The staff was friendly and helpful. The counter is located straight ahead as you enter. The menu is behind the counter and they had a good selection of food and drinks that you would expect at these stores. You order at one end of the counter and pay and your drinks are delivered at the other end. I got an iced tea and was pleased with the results. Overall it was a very pleasant experience that I would recommend to travelers in the area both as a respite from a busy travel day or just a place to get a good relaxing drink. Enjoy!“

“Remodel looks great. Incredible service here, every customer is greeted in such a friendly manner and drinks are made so quickly. I wanted to try the secret menu so I ordered an iced mocha variation. Cynthia and Taylor were so, so sweet and accommodating and the drink was absolutely delicious. “Say what you like about coffee houses but Starbucks consistently delivers a very enjoyable, high quality coffee that gives me the level of satisfaction few other coffee houses do with consistency! I love that I can order a coffee drink I love and know it will deliver. Lately I've bravely expanded beyond my constant venti skinny Caramel macchiato and have tried several of their new drinks. The pearl iced teas are a new summer winner for me. I love the freshness, the flavor, the right hit of flavor and the pearls. Now those bring it alive and the taste when they burst on your mouth totally compliments the iced tea flavor! Yum, count me in!! Also love the new pineapple cake. That's a light breath of fresh flavor. The portion is super generous, I get two treats out of one, cheating my sweet tooth!!

“This Starbucks is my go to Starbucks when I’m working out of the office because it’s down the street from my sons daycare. Today I was here at 10am ish. And order a latte based on the recommendation from the barista. I also order the bacon breakfast sandwich. When I bit into the sandwich it was still very cold. They remade it no issues. I should mention today is the day Starbucks brought back the free refills and the mug service. So I ordered my coffee in the mug because I knew I’d be here till around 5pm. When I went to get refill it was my surprise I could not. I was informed that I didn’t order the correct drink even though when I was ordering I excitedly told the barista that I was excited about the refills and ordered it in the mug for that purpose. Despite this the wonderful store manager Josh took the time to explain to me what coffees and teas qualified and he gave me a refill anyway even though my drink didn’t qualify. I really appreciated that as I didn’t believe it was my fault. Love this Takoma location. Thanks Josh!“

“I’ve been to a lot of Starbucks across the country — I travel pretty often — but this one is the best I’ve ever been to. The service here is consistently excellent. The staff is always friendly, welcoming, and genuinely seems to care. The drinks are always made right and taste great every time. I actually try to go out of my way to this Starbucks.“

“Great location and lovely staff working here - always a smile, hello, and cheerful engagement. There are some constant staff and then some rotation but have to say I always feel valued and appreciated as a customer. They are super fast at doing your drinks and food. I do order a few minutes before I go there as I live down the road and its handy to get the order in, breeze in and they have it ready. I also don't mind waiting but figure sometimes its easier for them when you order ahead.Location is always spotless and there is nearly always someone cleaning up, wiping floors or making sure its clean. They do have seating outside the store which closes in the evenings but is usually well set with students from AU and retirees and business folks doing interviews and meetings. They also have outside seating which is fab in the warmer weather. Depending on the time of day you may or may not be lucky to get seating. In winter there are some seats along the walkways to the medical center so if you're stuck walk down the corridor and you'll find some spots to park yourself.Great beverages, tasty treats and great staff. “I have been coming here for at least about 3 years Donald who is one of the cashiers is great very engaging, personable, friendly. However I have an issue with most of the female baristas every time And I only get two pumps of different flavorings but if they're rushed and it's not full pumps and I can taste the difference there's always a bit of an attitude and once I was told by I guess a manager who was a female that if they continue to add additional pumps they would have to charge me more, which my response was I don't need you to add more I just needed to be made the correct way and at that point I just asked for it to be remade That was a year or so ago but since then I still have reservations going to this location because each time there's no smiles from many of the ladies. However the young male baristas don't give too much push back if I offer suggestions on how to make it right the first time. There are times that I've left with whatever was made, but I was unhappy about it however going for it I've stopped doing that because I realized I'm paying almost $7 for a cup of coffee and it should be made the right way. I remember when Starbucks employees were in line with that of Chick-fil-A employees, but however out of most of the Starbucks locations with the exception of Tysons Corner at the greenboro location, and Arlington at the Pentagon Mall location near Fern Street, many of the employees do not carry the same smile Oh I must also mention that 15th Street Northwest the employees to great especially Tanya, and The gentleman who work at the wharf, again for whatever reason the female baristas don't always smile however there is a new female cashier who is very young and friendly.

Drop in morale or if it's just personality and Starbucks not enforcing employee demeanor and maybe this is the type of managers that are being hired as well.“

I have been coming here for months now in the morning around 530am or 6am. The staff has always been very nice to me. They greet me by my name. Already know my order when I come in. And even when I order online I still get the same sweet service.
This is DC there are a variety of people and cultures in this city all Starbucks are not the same and will never be the same. This is a good store compared to some I've gone too in SW and SE parts of DC.

“Marriot hotels are always good places to stay. Being members we booked the Washington DC property for a night. The hotel is pet friendly and we had our dog accompany us. Check in was smooth, as were bell boy services to get in bags. Rooms are well appointed with coffee maker and supplements. Members lounge offers refreshments morning and evening. There is a Starbucks outlet on board which we used. Valet parking is recommended if you have your own car. The hotel is 15 minutes away from The White House - Lincoln memorial- Victory Tower- War memorial etc. The staff is courteous and attentive. Security people are watchful for guest safety. Worth to stay here if you come to DC.“

“This 5 star review is for the Assistant Store Director only.I work as an EMT in DC. This morning my partner and I went into see if this location was honoring the discounted cup of coffee for first responders. The barista who was there was very rude, rolled her eyes, and was short with not only my partner and I, but with the customers in front of us. She very rudely told my partner the discount ended the 30th and they would not honor a cup of coffee. My partner and I then walked out and got chased down by the Safeway Assistant Store Director who asked what had happened and why we left. We explained we thought the discount was still going on since we had recently gotten a cup of coffee a couple days prior at another location. The Assistant Director then urged us to please come back in and he would offer the deal as he had not received any memo regarding discontinuing the discount. I wish I had gotten the gentleman's name, but I thank you sir for displaying such great customer service. My partner and I appreciate the cup of coffee this morning as it is already starting off a busy day.To the Barista who was rude, rolling her eyes, complaining through every step of pouring iced coffee into a cup for my partner and I... I realized I’d forgotten to transfer the appropriate amount in advance, and was left fumbling at the register and holding up the line. “I came into the store a little after 10am as I normally do and was promptly greeted from the staff. I ordered an ice grande blonde vanilla latte and ham & cheese crossaint as I usually do. The staff were trying to be as quick as possible even with the store being almost filled to compacity. Santana, who made my drink was absolutely fantastic! I watched her make multiple drinks on two separate machines at one time trying her best to get drinks out as soon as possible. She was absolutely terrific, fast and as sweet as can be.“
