“My wife has a gluten allergy and is vegan, making it challenging to find suitable dining options when we travel. However, during our recent trip to Maui, we were fortunate to discover several excellent establishments, and A`A Roots stood out with its incredible food. My wife particularly enjoyed a sandwich, describing it as the best she's ever had. She was very pleased with both the service and the food. The chickpea burger and salad were very, very good.“

“We love going to Leilani’s on the Beach. The service is top-notch, and the setting cannot be beat (although admittedly, many Maui b chaise restaurants match it… West Maui is amazing!). Every meal we’ve tried has been delicious. When we first visited in 2008, it inspired us to name our daughter-to-come Leilani. She is now 17 and we are on our way back soon for her grad trip. Can’t wait to see you in April!“

“Really very good. The wait was not ideal, but the place was small and excellent, so a wait is expected! Service was great, and the food was exceptional and fast.

Only gripe is the salsa was clearly from a bottle and it did downgrade the magnificent burrito and fresh ingredients a bit. :(“

Cash only place. Was in between two items and they recommended the chicken katsu. It came with rice and Mac. It was really good and the portion was generous. Their Mac is on the simpler side a little more bland but one can appreciate that. Especially eating something fried and flavorful.“

“Seriously the best place on ALL levels. Get there when they open at 11:00 as it gets very busy. There was a line out the door when we were there. Reasonably priced and great to take out for a day at the beach. We had an assortment of food items as we went a few times on our stay in Kahana. Lobster Bisque - Made fresh and it is the best I have ever had Poke - Fresh and delicious. By far the best I have ever had Shrimp Cocktail - You cant go wrong with a classic favorite Fish & Chips - nicely fried - not greasy and large portion Grilled/Fried Fish Tacos - They were both equally delicious and large portions Oyster Shooter - I could have had a dozen Seaweed Salad - Fresh and great flavor Crab Cakes - OMG The piece de resistance though was was the fresh Mahi Mahi that we barbequed. We used the 10 minute soy ginger marinade and it was better than outstanding. All of the workers are so nice and helpful. They work hard and take care of you from start to finish. Thank you Jim and crew for sharing your food and hospitality. You bet I will be back on my next visit to Maui. Mahalo!“

“Chicken katsu curry and garlic chicken plates were delicious. Ask for katsu sauce on side to dip in. We got the mini plates which were enough food for the average adult at $15 - fair price for Maui. Got take out and brought back to the resort to eat poolside, this is a solid local spot not a tourist spot“

“Had the Lime Coconut drink at happy hour. Delicious!!! Enjoyed the cliff diving ceremony but what really struck me was the guitar playing and the hula dancer. She was so graceful and beautiful. Wish I could see it every day.“

“Man I wish I would have gotten a hot dog when my wife and I stopped here back in August of '22... came back 2 years ago in March with my Mother and Father in law and our 3 boys and I'm a bonehead for never stopping here any of the times we drove thru Olowalu! “This place is very a very unique and interesting place!! We had breakfast and we’re served by a new server from Cali “ Mati” like us!! And she was not only a sweetheart but fast and one of the only servers doing circles in the whole restaurant and still making sure we we’re doing okay the whole time. The food was great. “We ended up coming here more than once because it was easy, the views were ridiculous, and we could actually slow down for a minute. One of our favorite moments of the whole trip was grabbing lunch, splitting sandwiches, and literally watching whales from the table. “The only reason I would give this a 4/5 for atmosphere is a warning that you are eating al fresco and mornings can be chilly. Or if windy a bit uncomfortable. So dress accordingly.

Breakfast Buffett is beautiful. Many options from the standards of fresh fruit, steel cut oatmeal, scrambled eggs and bacon. But also build your eggs Benedict (so it is fresh), smoked salmon, several sliced ham options, egg white w vegetables scramble, pastries, chicken porridge, warm bread pudding!

And if with no wind or chilly temps (the rare exception) it’s perfect.

Breakfast buffet is $40 - quite reasonable for Hawaii luxury resort.“

“Phenomenal sushi. It was so good I wasted wasabi and soi sauce. It didn't need any. The service we got from Sonny was perfect! Every one of his recommendations where delicious! He made us feel welcomed and even shared some of his personal ties to the area. This place is worth every penny.“
