It’s such a delight to find a place that truly understands how incredible vegan food can be. These dishes were flavorful, creative, and clearly made with so much care and skill.

As a vegan, finding delicious food while traveling can be a challenge, and discovering this place while in Maui made my day. I would love to get some tips and recipe suggestions from the chef!

“We love going to Leilani’s on the Beach. The service is top-notch, and the setting cannot be beat (although admittedly, many Maui b chaise restaurants match it… West Maui is amazing!). Every meal we’ve tried has been delicious. When we first visited in 2008, it inspired us to name our daughter-to-come Leilani. She is now 17 and we are on our way back soon for her grad trip. Can’t wait to see you in April!“

“Small place that is very popular for breakfast and lunch. Be prepared to stand in line for a half hour or more. Chairs available for party members with mobility issues, and large umbrellas on loan to help keep the sun off. Service is friendly, and food is excellent. Plenty of menu options for good american food with island variations.“

“Seriously the best place on ALL levels. Get there when they open at 11:00 as it gets very busy. There was a line out the door when we were there. Reasonably priced and great to take out for a day at the beach. We had an assortment of food items as we went a few times on our stay in Kahana. Lobster Bisque - Made fresh and it is the best I have ever had Poke - Fresh and delicious. By far the best I have ever had Shrimp Cocktail - You cant go wrong with a classic favorite Fish & Chips - nicely fried - not greasy and large portion Grilled/Fried Fish Tacos - They were both equally delicious and large portions Oyster Shooter - I could have had a dozen Seaweed Salad - Fresh and great flavor Crab Cakes - OMG The piece de resistance though was was the fresh Mahi Mahi that we barbequed. We used the 10 minute soy ginger marinade and it was better than outstanding. All of the workers are so nice and helpful. They work hard and take care of you from start to finish. Thank you Jim and crew for sharing your food and hospitality. You bet I will be back on my next visit to Maui. Mahalo!“

“A great place to eat on Kaanapali Beach! This beach front setting provides casual dining with great food, service with a smile and beautiful Maui sunsets. Our Maui vacations always include visits to the Castaway Cafe. Their prime rib and fish tacos do not disappoint! We will be back!“

“Absolutely amazing food, friendly owner and fabulous outdoor seating area with a great vibe. We love this place. We ordered a chicken burrito and a chicken taco combo plate and everything was delicious. We will be back again next time we are visiting.“

“This place is very a very unique and interesting place!! We had breakfast and we’re served by a new server from Cali “ Mati” like us!! And she was not only a sweetheart but fast and one of the only servers doing circles in the whole restaurant and still making sure we we’re doing okay the whole time. The food was great. “Chicken katsu curry and garlic chicken plates were delicious. Ask for katsu sauce on side to dip in. We got the mini plates which were enough food for the average adult at $15 - fair price for Maui. Got take out and brought back to the resort to eat poolside, this is a solid local spot not a tourist spot“

“Man I wish I would have gotten a hot dog when my wife and I stopped here back in August of '22... came back 2 years ago in March with my Mother and Father in law and our 3 boys and I'm a bonehead for never stopping here any of the times we drove thru Olowalu! The kids would all groan everytime I expressed interest in stopping the vehicle ANYWHERE. Just made me realize the next time I'm in Maui, it may very well be kid-free 🤣“

“Had the Lime Coconut drink at happy hour. Delicious!!! Enjoyed the cliff diving ceremony but what really struck me was the guitar playing and the hula dancer. She was so graceful and beautiful. Wish I could see it every day.“

“My husband and I loved this place, we stopped by multiple times during our trip. However the service is completely different based on the barista, our first two times the service was 5/5 because of the older man who made our drinks but the next time we came there was a woman working and she was the complete opposite of the nice man who had served us before. She was unfriendly and even the same coffee we loved tasted bad. Wish we could’ve seen the original barista again as he really makes the drinks service, and atmosphere 10/10!“

“I recently stayed at the Royal Lahaina and I frequented the Lahaina Noon during my stay with my wife. The views are incredible! The staff are friendly and outgoing. The food was great, as well as the adult beverages! The birds are very entertaining to say the least! 🤣 Can't wait for our next trip!“

“Our food and service was great! I found it strange that we payed with a gift card and charged a service charge that was described as a credit card fee. That didn't sit right with me. Aside from that it was great. Our server was helpful guiding us.“

“Everything was good but particularly this one server (Jimmy Somera) made the experience very annoying.

We asked for a cup of cappuccino which he took forever just to tell us that the coffee machine is not working which was working fine when a table next to me ordered the same thing after us and it arrived there in no time for them. Adding to it we asked for a fresh squeezed OJ which we have been doimg it since the time we arrived here and he asked for a crazy amount which was way more reasonable the other days.“
