“This place has definitely changed over the last 20+ yrs. The night shift cook has watched me grow from a young adult into a family man. It's a place that is very dear to my heart. The only thing that would have made this last experience 5 star experience for me personally. I missed the old night shift crew to enjoy my meal with old familiar faces and catching up with them. Otherwise, this place still got it even with the new cooks and unfamiliar daytime crew. They are all 5 stars!“
“One of the best meals I've had in Chicago in a long time. Our server Marco was exceptional - we were celebrating a birthday and he made our experience SO special with complimentary dessert and wine! We ordered the empanadas, party steak, papas bravas, and polenta and everything was so delicious. Marco also made a good wine recommendation and let us taste before we decided. “Phenomenal meal, and service. Sat at the bar late on a Wednesday, 10:15pm. The sourdough bread is the best I’ve ever tasted in my life. The Cobb Salad was insane. Lardons warm against a cool, crisp dressing and lettuce. Honestly, I’ve had a lot of meals in Chicago and nothing had been as good as this experience.“
“The taste was much better than I expected. The two of us spent over 500, with nearly 100 in tips. The A5 Wagyu was more delicious than I imagined, and the oysters are definitely a must-order item at their restaurant. The only issue was personal; I’m someone who doesn’t like being frequently asked "how is everything" while eating. Although the person in charge was very enthusiastic, it was just a bit too much for me. I hope in the future they could pay a bit more attention to individual customer preferences.“

“In a town that has it all, The Patio stands out for its great staff, amazing atmosphere, and flavorful fare! It really started with the staff. From the time we walked in the door the staff was amazing!! Our waiter Dante was absolutely phenomenal. He didn’t rush us, gathered our drink order, and checked in at just the right times to allow us to make the most of our experience. We started with the French onion soup and Caesar salad. Both were delicious. The Caesar had a bit of its own flare with a soft boiled egg and fresh grated cheese. Next we had the tuna tartare. Fresh tuna coupled with wontons, sesame, and just the right amount of sauce. Our dinner entrees finished off a great date night in the big city. The filet was cooked perfectly and the lobster Mac and cheese had large bits of lobster and a crisp crumble atop a bed of melted cheeses! We can’t recommend the Patio enough! Overall a wonderful night we won’t forget anytime soon!!“

Food was seriously amazing, we had Thick Cut Bacon, steaks and then shared 4 different sides. I think the Corn and Cheesy Potatoes were then best along with the bread! “Gene and Georgetti's is a great place for a date night, birthday or really any celebration! The food is fantastic and the service is too. The pastas were all made in house and you can tell. The steaks are great, they have a nice crust and cooked to perfection. I also love the cocktails, the drinks I had were well made and very good. The atmosphere is also very cool and classic chicago. “In town for business, went to The Capital Grille for a steak dinner. It was, oh, so much more! Ordered a cesar salad, new York steak, bone out. And the asparagus. The Cesar salad was delicious, with generous portions of shaved parmesean cheese. My steak ordered as medium rare, was absolutely perfect. The asparagus grilled with lemon wedge was a perfect complement. The dinner was perfect! I also ordered a Merlot wine by the glass, which was recommended by Blake, my server, who was excellent! She was so attentive and friendly! Almost all the wait staff stopped to ask if everything was okay and asked if I needed anything! The manager. Adam, also stopped and asked if everything was okay. The evening was perfect! I only wish my visit to Chicago was a more personal, elegant visit because this is where I would want to be! As if to show the elegance, I thought about having black napkins for guests wearing black. And then the manager, Adam, walked by with black napkins! Elegance is an exceptional quality. “The food was fantastic! The service was tremendous (incredible teamwork and passion)! The only issue I had was with the miserable little host/manager in the beige suit. One of the worst bedside manners I have ever seen from someone in the restaurant industry. He had a scowl on his face all night as he was walking around like a peacock. As my wife I were walking right past him on our way out, he wasn't going to say a word to us until I said, "Take care". At that point he responded, "Take care". ai guess I was expecting too much with a "Thank you".“

We arrived about 30 min to an hour before the restaurant became full. We were treated the same as those who had prior reservations and we were not rushed.The service/sever was great. Alex was very familiar with the menu, providing excellent descriptions of specials . Alex was attentive, checking to make sure we were enjoying our meal. Alex was also kind and friendly. Our meal (roasted chicken) was delicious. The chicken was cooked to perfection….very tender. If we could change one thing (minor) would be the lemon and caper jus. Flavor/taste was good, but it was just a little too much for us….the mash potatoes (which were tasty) disappeared into the jus. Loved the kale…very tender. Now, for the dessert(s); we are not sure how often the dessert menu changes, but the dessert menu on Saturday, April 12, 2024, presented a hard choice. Saving calories, we opted to share….we chose the Pound Cake filled with warm banana pudding, and drizzled with a rum sauce. This dessert was “De-Lish”, and worth every calorie. The pound cake was moist with a nice texture and the banana pudding was warm and full of flavor. They were so friendly and enjoyed conversating with us and always made sure we full drinks. The food was beyond what we expected. I got the salmon and it was cooked perfectly! Ribs were also on point as was the cornbread. Our waiter even surprised us with a brownie and ice cream dessert with a candle to finish the evening. Not to a point that I had to ask to remake the steak but enough for me to be slightly disappointed with the steakhouse signature menu. I ordered. Rare plus. Might be because of it ? But I ALWAYS order rare plus in all of my steak. No inside steak was cold. But I am very happy with the staff. I would return any time. It is a minor thing . My pleasure. The owner Zyra gracious and caring. I had Potato soup that was incredible. A Chicken Tostada Zyras moms recipe and she made a couple changes the sauces wow! The steaks I had a Ribeye. One of the best ever. I have dined at all the high end eateries steak joints in the city. This place is a gem. Had to try the desert. We had a chocolate flourless fudge cake. We indulged.
