“I was there a Saturday morning and there was only one person working there. When I arrived it was just me and another person ordering. Then it was getting busy because the orders were large per order. Will need to go again to try their other items.I bought their Mexican hot chocolate, horchata iced and two empanadas; the green salsa and molé sauce. Empanadas were okay and mild for their spicy flavor. The Mexican hot chocolate was very good! Iced Horchata tasted like it had a shot of coffee; I’m not a fan of that type of coffee.Parking: It’s located on a strip so the parking is limited.“

“Our 1st time at L. Woods. It was a cute place. Loved all the room signs & pictures throughout the restaurant. I had the French onion soup to start it was sooo good! For our main meal I have the pulled pork sandwich with coleslaw, my momma had the 1/2 slab of ribs with mashed potatoes. The food had such a good flavor & soo good. For dessert we split the turtle sundae. We definitely will be back soon!“

“Bloom has become my favorite place to grab brunch in Wicker Park on Sundays! Stunning atmosphere, incredibly thoughtful, kind, attentive staff, and the food consistently blows me away! This weekend I went with a friend and we shared their Avocado Toast special which was an easy 10/10. Their Caesar Salad is always a must (and a tasty way to sneak in greens with brunch). The star of the show for me is always the Tempeh Ranchero Omelette - it nearly brings me to tears every single time (it's that GREAT)!! It was nearly 70 degrees outside and we sat right in the window with them open and it was glorious. If you're looking for a great spot for a girl's brunch, date night, or foodie spot in Chicago, this is an absolute MUST!“

“Received a recommendation from the staff at our hotel today April 20 2024. We were a 5 minute walk away as we were visiting from Charlotte NC. When we walked in the AROMA AT THE DOOR was INCREDIBLE! They were also very busy which was an indicator that the food at the establishment had to be amazing. We didn’t have a reservation but the bar was available. There were not enough seats but other guests were so nice to slide down and allow us to sit.The bartender Stephanie jumped right in with our drink and food orders. Our food arrived in about 10 minutes! This place is ran like a well oiled machine! The food service and atmosphere was outstanding. My husband ordered the chicken Parmesan with fettuccine Alfredo. I ordered the linguine ali’ aragosta. Both were amazing. The flavors and pasta were literally perfection. The manager was very kind as well. I love when business make an effort to accommodate their guests in the manner that we were accommodated 10/10 would definitely recommend. We had the pleasure of celebrating my birthday early here. We are both pasta lovers. So to have fresh authentic pasta was truly a treat!“

“Really good ice cream. Me and friends went here today since everything was closed and we thought this place would be mid. But, man this ice cream really is good. I would say it’s even on par with basking robins or prolly even way better than that. I would recommend the dark cherry and coconut scoops which was recommended to me by one of the employees. Also, I gotta say this is also the only place in Chicago that is very hospitable and service is amazing. The employees gave us many flavors to try before proceeding with our order.Vegetarian options: Vegan marshmallows“

“Eden, located in Chicago, provided a delightful dining experience for my first visit. Arriving late allowed us to secure a table swiftly. I indulged in a couple of dirty martinis to kickstart the evening, accompanied by the exquisite wagyu tartare, which left my taste buds thoroughly satisfied. For the main course, I opted for the crab bucatini, savoring each delectable bite, while my companion thoroughly enjoyed the flavorful chicken dish. The service was exemplary, and the restaurant exuded cleanliness, with the added luxury of real hand towels in the bathrooms, a detail not often found. The ambiance, with its well-thought-out lighting and decor, further elevated the experience. Overall, Eden offered a memorable dining venture, leaving me eager to return for another culinary adventure.“

“I had heard good things about Girl & The Goat, but had never gone in my time living in Chicago... until last night. A friend wanted to get together and snagged the reservation, which she said is VERY lucky cause they go fast. We did go on a Monday night, so it likely helped. We were seated immediately, and the dining room was really nice. It's got a great vibe that feels high-end but not snooty. And chill so you can relax. The plates are meant to be shared, and the recommendation from our server was 4 plates for 2 people. She was very thorough in explaining everything (it was pretty simple to understand but I like to be well-informed, especially in a new place) and they even had interesting spirit-free drinks for folks like me who don't do alcohol. We ordered the goat empanadas, the green beans, the crabby pork belly, and the halibut. Every single plate was not only BEAUTIFUL, but it was also delicious. The empanada shell had a good crunch to it, and the avocado crema was a delight to pair with it. I had never had goat meat before, but it was very mild but flavorful and tender. I expected more gamey flavor, but there was none. The green beans are a star here for good reason. They were cooked to perfection, drizzled with another delectable sauce, and were such a treat for something normally just viewed as "a side."The halibut portion felt... a little small for sharing, but once I tasted it, the portion size to price didn't matter anymore. The fish had such a rich flavor and a lovely sear. And the toppings...I was hesitant to go for the mushrooms. I didn't like those types of mushrooms in the past, but it was a night to be bold and adventurous, so I dove in. At that point, I realized that when I didn't like the mushrooms in the past, it was not the mushroom's fault. It was the preparation. Once the fish was gone, I greedily snagged up the remaining bits of topping and mushrooms. It's too tasty to leave behind! The star for me was really the crabby pork belly. It was the item that drew my interest at the first glance over the menu. The pork belly was -at this point no shock to anyone - perfectly seasoned and cooked. The sort of remoulade sauce that harkened back to the "crabby" portion of the dish name was smooth and yummy, and there were these tiny potato chips in the topping that added the right crunch to the dish.Every dish was a dream to enjoy. I would order any of them again. My LEAST favorite of the four was the empanadas but ONLY because everything else was so fantastically delicious.Food aside, let's talk service. We were never without drinks. Our single-glass drinks came out in a timely manner, and our water cup AND our bottle for the table were never empty. I put the wrapping aside from the napkin, and it disappeared promptly. When our first two plates had come, we were given fresh. They even transferred utensils from our used plate to the clean ones in so smooth a motion. It was like a practiced dance. Our food never felt rushed and was always the perfect temperature by the time we got to eating. Several members of the team saw to us and made sure our needs were met.All of this WHILE SERVING A 17 PERSON PARTY in our section. Unheard of!This was a rare thing for me to go out, and I could not be happier to have had my friend talk me into going. I got to unwind and not worry about a thing. I felt so taken care of and really just got to focus on the conversation and relaxing, which I desperately needed.Girl & The Goat has obviously mastered the craft of providing excellent service and food while making each and every guest in their care feel like the only one. It was a really wonderful experience, and I am looking forward to visiting again and recommending it to everyone. Thanks for a great experience!“

“Great small bakery. The options may be limited but the quality is high. Follow their Instagram to keep a close eye on their inventory as I hear they typically sell out quick (only so much product can be made for a day's sales).I guess they are known for their Tahini cookies. I've had several items from their menu and I would recommend fulfill your sweet tooth here.First thing I ate were the peanut butter cookies, and boy did it have peanut butter in it - grab a drink to help wash it down! The bakery takes pride in their baked goods and it is well worth their hard work.“

“We had excellent food and excellent service tonight at Shaw's Crab House. We chose to sit on the casual side of the restaurant, which meant no white table cloths but the menu was still the same. My Life's a Peach cocktail was tasty, as was the gumbo. My husband and I shared the Shaw's seafood platter, which was delicious. I will definitely be back. 5 stars all around.“

“I was parking and saw a crowd of people hovering around a storefront like they were waiting for doors to open for the Nordstrom Semi Annual Sale! Thus, I had to walk over and see what all the fuss was about. Tons of people were waiting outside in the cold for pastries. I looked at the menu on the window and noticed all the pastries are gluten free and they have a large selection of vegan options! There were so many vegan options that I bared the cold trying to make a decision. I settled on the vegan brownie. The staff were all friendly and processed orders quickly. While walking, I tasted a piece of the vegan brownie. It was simply, AMAZING! I can’t wait to go back and try other vegan pastry options.“

“An absolute MUST VISIT for any vegan/vegetarian visiting Chicago. This joint is a thriving institution for a reason: the BEST food served by the friendliest staff in the most casual vibe. My biggest issue is trying to decide what to get because I want everything. Portions are generous and everything tasty. Favorites include the Mexican Scrambled tofu bowl (spicy and savory and bursting with flavor), the Reuben (all the salt and chew you miss from when you ate meat), the biscuits and gravy, and of course the milkshakes. You’ll want to come with friends so you can share and sample more items.Vegetarian options: 100% vegan and their kitchen is nut free (though not their desserts).“

“TL;DR - If you’re even slightly thinking about coming here, just do it. Revolution has the best beer in the city, fantastic food, and incredible staff.A lot of breweries in Chicago excel in making their one or two specialty styles of beer, and that’s it. Revolution, on the other hand, is able to guarantee high quality and incredibly drinkable beer across just about every style you can think of. I normally hate those dark, boozy, 15+% ABV beers, yet I drink every single one that Rev puts out and I love it. Their “Hero”-series IPAs will make even the biggest IPA hater second guess their hatred. And their sours (usually released during the summer) are so good, you will question how something this good can be alcoholic. Revolution doesn’t put out a beer that isn’t incredible, so you can pick a beer at random and be sure to enjoy it.Recently, the Brewpub renovated their space and, with it, re-did a lot of their menu. The space is cozy, yet upscale (the seating is significantly comfier than it once was with new plush seating). The new food is also really high quality - much higher than you would expect from a brewery. A lot of detail is put into plating and presentation (Mushrooms & Tofu, for example, looks like a piece of art), and still it tastes somehow even better than it looks. In addition to more upscale menu items, you’re also able to get a lot of that “typical” bar food here that fully delivers (pretzel, cheese curds, fries, etc.). The only gripe I could possibly have here is on the pricing of some of the food. This does not apply to the whole menu though, just some items that feel like they are priced higher than they should be (e.g. Lion’s Mane mushrooms, a starter, costs the same as the Mushrooms & Tofu, an entree, despite being significantly less food and sharing some similar ingredients. Why?!). If you can view this less as a bar and more like a nicer restaurant (which, with the renovation completed, is easy to do), then the pricing is a lot more palatable. The ambiance, food, and drinks are all great, but it’s the staff at Revolution that keeps me coming back though. They’re all so friendly, personable, passionate, and professional - they are the kind of people that make your night out feel special. My fiancé and I have celebrated birthdays, engagements, job offers, anniversaries, and so much more here because of how wonderful the staff are in celebrating and creating such a fun environment to be in. They make Revolution a place we want to go whenever we want to have a good time out. There are just too many people to name (Magnolia, Drake, Erwin, Makenna, Amy, Matt, just to name a few) - but rest assured that we love just about everyone who has served us here. So much so, that my fiancé and I are getting married here later this year! This is the easiest 5 stars I have ever handed out. I have so little to say about places that are “meh”, so the length of this review should show how much I love it here. I’ve come here at least every week for the last 2+ years, and I don’t have any intention of slowing down anytime soon. If you’re still reading this, please stop reading and start drinking, and do it at the Brewpub! You won’t regret it!Vegetarian options: Plenty of vegetarian and vegan options here. Standouts include the veggie burger (vegan by default), Mushrooms & Tofu (vegan), and a delicious pretzel with beer cheese (vegetarian and oh so good).“

“I have been walking past this place every day since I moved here (I use the CTA Roosevelt Station), but I finally visited Sweet Bean with some friends from out of town and LOVED it. The coffee was good, nothing spectacular, but the pastries are really the unique part. They are self service, and they have sweet and savory pastries - I have tried a few and they were all amazing. 10/10 HIGHLY recommend a visit if you're in the area“

“10 stars?? This place is incredible. The staff are so amazing. The treats are incredible. We missed the cinnamon rolls by about an hour, so we are going to have to go back for those. But everything is gluten free, vegan, and no refined sugars. And you won't miss any of it! The bars are incredible. Each has their own unique flavor and they are totally reasonably priced for what you get. We will definitely be going back. FYI they also ship if you're not local!“

“Super fun joint. A lot of good vibes and reasons to hang around. The food, overall, was tasty, but the pizza left some to be desired. You can tell they put great care and detail into every decision. “Wish we had this in DC! Hit me up if you want an investor! :-)On business travel and it's always hard to find healthy, convenient food choices. Came here because of the reviews and I have to say, that was one of the best veg bowls I've had, period. I topped it off with the turkey meatballs which were awesome! I also did the tahini and green goddess dressing which was delish! One recommendation, I would have ordered the salmon but it looked dry and like it had been sitting there getting too much air. I would cover it preferably with a clear glass lid. The turkey meatballs were covered and sitting in some broth which kept them fresher. I was there right at closing, which accounts for the lonely salmon. I will be back this week and then some. The roasted beets & carrots were also off the hook BTW.Dietary restrictions: They were very attentive about dietary restrictions.Kid-friendliness: Clean, pretty and spacious location.“

“I went there craving for something sweet after 6 PM on Friday. Ordered a chocolate brioche, a coconut chocolate chip caramel cookie and a chocolate cookie. Everything seemed to be freshly baked, unexpectedly heavy, and full of filling, so it took the two of us three days to consume this good stuff. And I never had an issue with a lack of appetite.I personally prefer less sweet options, but these cookies are not as sweet as traditional American staples, and I appreciate that. If you want a cookie so packed with stuff it becomes a bit overpowering, the coconut one is a good choice. Not complaining though. It fed the two of us.Brioche was a bit too thick for my taste, but it was also good. The service that I experienced is what I assume to be typical for Chicago: slightly poker-faced and nonchalant but not rude or anything like that.I would give this bakery another try for the items that I haven’t eaten yet.“

“OH MY GOD THIS PLACE MAKES HEAVEN. My favorites: - any of the savory meat croissants - egg sandwich - any of the meat strombolis - salted caramel donut - gingersnap molasses cookie - twice-baked almond croissant - vegan dark chocolate banana bread with pecans - Two falls ago there was this amazing apple cider bearclaw donut thing. I haven't seen it since in the pastry case, but I can still taste its awesomeness in my mouth and hope it will one day return. Everything here is so moist and magical. For me, what sets Mindy's Bakery apart from other bakeries, and makes it clear why Mindy won the Beard award for Outstanding Chef in the US, is that Mindy and crew are always working to improve their craft, always using quality ingredients and making better versions of things all the time and I respect this so much. Also, when you come in through the door, you can see everyone behind the counter, working hard, baking during open hours, and helping you pick things out of the big case in front. They are awesome. If you're from out of town, know there's rarely a line out the door on Wed, Thurs or Fri, but Sat and Sun are busy, so do what I do and bring your kindle or paper to read while you wait in line. It is always worth the wait.“

“The service was good! They were nice and very helpful with guiding you where drinks, napkins, and utensils were without you asking. It was helpful. I ordered a criossant, carrot cake, and a coffee. Criossant was on the crunchy side inside and out. If you like that then that's it, but for me, I prefer a crunchy from outside and soft on inside, but not bad. Drink was a vanilla latte, and it was good because it was not too sweet. The carrot cake, the presentation was nice! Taste of the cake could've been better, but the cream of the cake made it worth having! Lastly, I want to say this definitely is a great spot for a date quiet enough to talk without too loud and music level perfect! :) I'd return to try other pastries and drinks next time!“

The restaurant is beautiful with fun lighting and some of the best service I’ve had at a restaurant. We got recommendations from the waiter and tried the house made pasta as an appetizer, which was a fantastic choice! I got the filet mignon which was delicious and the Mac and cheese as a side. The steaks come without sides so make sure to order some sides which are definitely shareable portions. “Visiting from Indiana for training and decided to get Greek for dinner.....man o man o man.....was this a fantastic choice! When I pulled up, it was free valet parking and I was a little confused because I didn't anticipate it being that type of fine dining experience but I was wrong. We arrived at 6ish on Tuesday and let me say we beat the crowd. Within 20 minutes of our arrival, there was a wait for seating. As an appetizer we ordered the Flaming Cheese (Saganaki) And it was phenomenal. They automatically give you a platter of toasted bread and it was the perfect accompaniment.I ordered the chicken kebab meal which came with a soup and my choice of side. I chose the lemon chicken soup and greek potatoes...my tummy was in agreement with my choices. My friend ordered the Moussuka and it was a large portion that also came with soup and choice of side...she chose the mixed veggies and they were truly delicious. We tried the dandelion greens because neither of us had had them before. They weren't my fav but my friend loved them. This was simply a matter of preference nothing more nothing less.My friend got a baklava to go because we were too full for dessert at that moment. The portions are healthy, service was top notch and the food was obviously quality ingredients. There is something for everyone on this menu!“
